This hostel is in a very good location.  I have stayed here twice. The rooms are fine and the place is very clean.  The kitchen is not much.  One hot plate and a microwave.  The staff is very nice, in that grumpy Hungarian way.  You can store you bag here if you have a late train after check out. There are always interesting people staying here.  Hungarian speaking Americans? Really? Monsanto chemist? Nest of spies to be sure.

I stayed over Sziget week so I'm sure that was one of the contributing factors in why it was so quiet in this hostel. First night I had to sleep on a matress on the floor while there was a bed free as the person hadn't booked in just yet where I felt as I was there first I should have gotten the bed first. First come, first served and all that. The wifi was terrible. Other than that Dori was really lovely and Budapest is amazing.

A bit quiet

Wauzi and we felt really welc(h)ome! Best Hostel we could have chosen. Little bit of an alternative, free, hippie flatshare. Thank you so much! 

Only thing what was hard - the matress. But maybe now we have every bone and vortex where it's supposed to be!

Lovely Hostel  <3 awareness of live inclusive

We like it to stay at Gingko. It has a nice and cosy atmosfere and it's clean. There were more people staying, but it still was very quit (although we slept next to the common room and sometimes we heard some people in the night, but they weren't too loud).
The room was nice, although the bed/matras was very hard. Location is good to, very many walkable tourist spots. There isn't a real kitchen, but you can manage to cook some basic if needed. Staff is very friendly and helpfull. Overall: a really nice place to stay at!

Nice and clean hostel

Feels like home. Been for 2 nights, and everything was great :) rooms are big and comfortable, and personel are soo nice. Downtown is very close, and I will definetly come back again :) Room are clean, toilets as well, and there is a lot of informations about Budapest :)

Great :)

It's the best hostel I've ever been to, it's clean, it smells good, the staff is very friendly and helps with everything, the beds are comfortable, the reception is really 24 hours, it's safe (door is always locked with a key). The computers available to customers are old and very slow, but I usually use my mobile phone (wifi was fine!). I don't recommend breakfast because they offer very little variety, besides it's better to have breakfast in the city center while touristing. The location is very close to the center, we only took the subway to get to Hero's Square, the rest on foot. We were 4 friends (3 girls and 1 boy), we stayed 3 nights in the mixed room of 6.

Like at home!

Nice place, friendly and welcoming staff and hosts, normal terraced beds, 2 bathrooms and 2 showers, a kitchen where coffee is brewed in the morning.

Friendly place

I spent 5 nights in this hostel with a friend. We felt at home! The staff is (overall) very nice, the owner is adorable and is ready to help/advise you at any time. The location is great, the rooms are nice, the bathrooms are large (not always very clean, however). It is a small hostel so it is easier to meet other travelers there.

Very good address

The hostel is just a few steps away from Astoria Metro and the main street of the city. The eyes of the friendly staff, responsive in everything, a little bit of Russian. The hostel is clean and tidy. There are many pilgrims.

I arrived there by chance at 11:00 on a Friday evening, at the reception a very generous and kind guy and in a perfectly clean house! They have rooms for 6 very spacious people and a double room, plus kitchen available and living area.
