Old hotel building with rooms which were renovated maybe 20-25 years ago. The main light was not working in my room and in another room the air conditioning was wrong. Avoid the mansard rooms in the summer. The breakfast was better than the room. They advertise it as 3 stars superior but it is just an average 3 stars hotel with maintenance issues.

Mediocre

Nice and very nice hotel. Rooms very nice, with clean air upstairs. Staff very bored, unfriendly and not very accommodating. Breakfast was offered at 8 or 9 a.m. However, the already lean buffet was almost completely cleared up and was not refilled. On departure, we were charged the air conditioning system for 2 days, although we had only used it for one day. An excuse was not given for this. Despite a beautiful place with a very nice wine cellar, run by a German couple, opposite the hotel. The synagogue is also definitely worth seeing.

Average

We were there with a group, and the staff was desperately overwhelmed, and in the end there was not enough of a single room, so that two people had to be brought together. When the rooms were billed, there was also a sickly cocksucker. The breakfast was third class, especially the coffee was a tribute. The rooms were clean, the beds were also empty, the minibar was empty, and the shower has the best times behind it. The building itself is beautiful. Parking lots are behind the house.

Bad breakfast, overworked staff

5 of us stopped by to have a lunch. After registering the order and bring the drinks they ask for 15 more minutes the bring the food. An hour later still asking for more patience and time. Other guests came and left in the meantime. Horrible service. 

Quick lunch? Not at all

We have tried only the restaurant - so this review is related only the restaurant, not the hotel - but it was more than enough from this place. The  whole staff was quite bipolar - very kind with the obviously regular and local guests but just the opposite with us as firsttimers here. Unfriendly, rude behaviour, lack of politeness and hospitality. Never again...

Rude staff, worst service ever experienced

Visiting vineyard in Mad, I spend one night in this hotel, it was an excellent experience, the staff very friendly, the room was luxury , the bed very comfortable, very clean everywhere,  good breakfast included, if you are in Tokaj region visiting vineyards,  this hotel suits you.

Excellent hotel  in Mad.

Located in the center of the beautiful village of Mad this hotel is not in the standard of the stars in France. the very beautiful swimming pool was not usable because not approved by the local health services

Two little stars

This is a simple but clean and comfortable, and very cheap and practical, hotel in the middle of Mád (which actually is a little crazy!). I'm not sure that the staff speak English but you will get your room, everything you need, and walking distance to the wonderful cellars of Tokaji. If you want glitz and glamour this isn't for you but I love its charm.

An authentic stay

I was here with a group for two nights.

It is a former aristocrat's home, made into a hotel. The thing is, the photos don't really show how nice, authentic and lovely this hotel is. It is furbished with great taste and good sense for proportions. Therefore it manages to be really charming even though there's nothing super-luxurious about it, I'd place it somewhere between Western European 3 and 4 stars, maybe a bit closer to 4. 

Anyway staff was very friendly and highly flexible. Quality-price-ratio I found outstanding.

Rooms were quite big, with high ceilings, tastefully equipped. 

A very good experience; if I'd visit the Tokaj region again, I would certainly come here again.
