After about half a year, is this hotel closed again and completely empty since you're rebuilding something!? How can that be?? Let's see what you're up to next!? The next time I'm there, the next review comes.

This hotel and restaurant is easy to find, on a main road, very close to the main city attraction - the zoo.
It has parking in front of it, pretty clean (looks better inside) and the restaurant pretended to be good. :)
The food was decent, but not cheap. We felt it was not the best we could get for the money.
At least one member of the staff was speaking English.

First of all : The staff don´t speak ENGLISH nor other langueages!!!!!
They are nice but it´s almost impossible to speak with them...

The room was nice and clean. The hotel is small, more family- oriented hotel not huge and loud. The room is spacious with a terrase.
Bathroom was ok. Clean.
Breakfast was pretty poor. No "swedish tables", it was served on plates. There were some ham, cheese, sausage, tomato and so... It contained some coffee as well.
It is very close to the Zoo and it situated in a "villa location" with a nice wood, walk, quite places with benches to sit.

This pension could be really good if some employees didn't try to cheat the guest on his money by telling the spouse that the bill of CHF 450 has not yet been paid, although the bill for 6 nights has already been paid by credit card and receipt!! Almost had to join the local police!! As for the room and the cleanliness, once the bathroom was simply not cleaned and I had to run after my clean handkerchief and bath towels in the evening itself! The so-called free WiFi is the last horror, because it NEVER works properly, the TV channels are almost a little cuter and of worse quality! There are many and with much better quality in Prague (Check-in) and the neighborhoods (Bulgaria) but there is a very close opportunity to get rid of this, and I can't tell you that this is the only opportunity to get rid of this, and if the weather is really bad, then this is the only opportunity to get rid of it!

Could be a secret tip!

We have stayed a couple of nights at Tolgyes Panzio and all in all enjoyed our stay. 

What we liked were the great and spacious rooms with clean and nice beddings. The room looked like a brand new one, bathroom was great quality as well. 

What we did not like were:

-Breakfast was poor, with very limited selection. During breakfast hours there was no personal looking after the tables or the drinks/food. When we arrived after 9am 70% of the tables were full of dirty dishes. We could not sit down outside as there were no clean tables.

-There were some overhearing from other rooms.

-The restaurant at the hotel is extremely overpriced in my opinion. We are okay with paying 50 euros for a lunch or dinner for 2 persons (which buy the way is quite a lot in this part of Hungary where you can easily get good quality food for €25-30). What we got here for this money was average quality food worth no more than €20. 

All in all the place is not a bad choice for a night or two, but I would avoid the restaurant if I were you.

Great rooms - poor breakfast

A very nice and cozy hotel. What you need for a quiet family vacation. A welcoming staff, delicious kitchen, good WiFi, warm and clean rooms. A large free parking lot. For those without a car right next to the hotel, the bus stop is within 5 minutes' drive of the center, zoo and water park and Tesco.

Good choice.

It's a nice hotel, very few rooms, friendly staff, spacious rooms with a large balcony, comfortable beds, a restaurant on the first floor. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to appreciate it.

A good hostel

Tolgyes Restaurant has been a Nyiregyhaza landmark for many decades.
Several years ago a Panzio (Inn) was established as well.

The food is exceptionally good, with great upscale yet relaxed interior.
Very attentive staff with ample varieties of dishes and desserts to choose from.

Culinary excellence!

We were visiting family and wanted a hotel close to my father's village - and we were fortunate enough to book at this fabulous place.  The rooms are ultra-modern; the balconies spacious; the bathroooms modern and sleek; the service marvelous - on a true five star level - and this is small family run panzio not the Ritz with unlimited staff and services - but you would never know!  The owner and his staff are accomodating and wonderful! The restaurant is wonderful - great Hungarian food and wine - and they have a charming patio out front for the good weather months. Overall, the best hotel and dining value I have experienced in years, and we travel across the globe all year long! I wouldn't stay anywhere else - in fact, we would go back just to stay!
