Bathroom is retro. We had no hot water in the shower. No proper dark curtains for the good night sleep. No air conditioning . Very noisy place as being in the cross of two streets and a 0-24 petrol statin in 50 m distance. The breakfast was poor and the staff not polite at all. I do not recommend to anybody.

Forgettable place

The hotel is located in the center, next to the highway, but still a little further away, so the noise of the cars did not interfere. The room is quite decent, spacious, white. About soundproofing I can't say, because at that time there were few clean guests. They got a little overwhelmed with hot water in the shower, but in the end they did it.

It's the same for the transit.

The hotel is conveniently located in the center of Salgotarjan, not on the main street, but close. Having read the negative reviews, I didn't expect much - I wouldn't have selected this hotel if I had any other reasonable options. To my surprise, it was not that bad - slightly shabby, but more or less ok.

The worst part of our stay was a group of women who from at 1 am were walking up and down the corridor, shouting, laughing and trying to get to our room. When they finally found their room we could still hear them talking - the walls are thin. The hotel is slightly shabby and could use some renovation. The wifi wasn't working in our room, we had to go to the restaurant to catch the signal. The breakfast was poor, only cold stuff, no cheese.

Stay if you must...

It's clean, centermiddle and cheap. The breakfast is from good quality. You can do everything by foot, busstation is at 300 meter. There is a nice center in Salgotarjan. You can leave early in the morning. It's not far from the Hungaroring (racetrack).

The hotel is in the "center" of Salgótarján. I guess this is the only hotel in the city. The hotel is very old and extremely shady. The beds are uncomfortable, and it is pretty noisy. It is good for a one night sleep, but you will not feel very relaxed after a night a sleep. In my bathroom only the hot water worked, I could wash my hands, but could not have a shower.

Poor quality hotel but at least not expensive

The staff is very courteous and available, but it's hard to understand because very few speak English. You can pay in euros as long as you have the exact equivalent of the figure... they have nothing left. The rooms that are not too clean and dated leave you wanting. Breakfast if you think you like sweets etc... forget about it if you like salami and raw vegetables, then it's for you.
