In a simple and genuine atmosphere we ate the best tortillas in the world prepared at the moment.

A quiet family lunch

I was with my family, 4 people, just for a stop over on the way to Piombino. Knowing that a fiend of mine is quite often in that area I asked for a very typical place where to have a joyfull dinner. Friend of mine asnwered "go to Agriturismo Filippi and you will never forget it!".
I do not know what happen because agriturismo Filippi should have been at the top of the hill, at Oppilo village, but while we were taking the road to get there, we found an indication to follow saying "agriturismo Filippi".
Anyway, we stop there and we really had an unforgettable experience. We never eat so bad as that night.
The owner tried to be funny and friendly keeping showing a little cat and making joke with it without caring the place where we were.
As starter he suggested some salami and cheese which was not particular, I could have them also in the market near where I live. 
As first main course, without asking for it, he brought a plate of "Testarolo" each. Testarolo is a kind of piadina, very soft, in my opinion without any taste, with garlic, oil and parsly on top. For us could have been fine but our kids do not eat garlic, then we asked any other dish available and he replied "I will try to see if we have ragu' ". You have a restaurant and (maybe) some ragu' is your only option to propose to your guest?! Astonishing.
Then my wife and kids stopped eating because was really unbelievable. 
I tried to give some more chances and I took some "arrosto" so strong that was only comparable to a freesby.
At the end, he said "it should be 30 € each but considering that arrosto was nothing special give me only 25€".
Please note that the cooker was a girl around 20 years old.
When I call my friend back he said that was not possible then we investigated and we found out that probably, Agriturismo Filippi moved down to the hill in this new location. Probably something changed because service and food are not the same level and in my opinion not even good for any restaurant.

So disappointing!

Typical Italian food, with excellent food, like the delicious "Tostarelli" made by themselves. The owners authentically hospitable and passione by his work, correct prices, we really hope to return.❤️

Everything is very good, from the welcome to the snacks, firsts, seconds, candies, unfortunately I can't give the best for the potatoes, I expected them to be cut and cooked in the text and not fried like in the coffee shop.

Looking for Lunigiana products

Great food, very nice managers and very strong parrot. The place is a little wasted but relaxing and friendly. Great for families, groups of friends and mushroom hunters. The management is familiar but the products are of excellent quality and cooked well.

That's very nice.

To test the stubborn, here they make them with a particular pest, something exaggerated, the lamb was delicious, coffee in moka and apple pancakes for dessert. All for a relatively low bill! I've been there already 3 times and every time I pass the Cisa motorway I have to stop! The owner is very kind and very nice!!

Get out of here!

We went out to Pontremoli from the highway before stopping for the queue, if we followed the directions for this farmhouse and discovered a pearl of homemade cuisine, a place immersed in nature that brings you back to the past; we were pleasantly surprised by the cordiality and cuisine of a quality truly like that of a time. Wonderful! A little advice: keep the outdoor area more tidy/clean.

Real hospitality and cuisine

In an old Tuscan village, small but characteristic, is the Agriturismo Filippi. Our arrival is welcomed by the scent of the gentlemen and the courtesy of all the staff, an exquisite family. As exquisite as their cuisine, which for three days has delighted us all, with its typical dishes and products and the expert hand of someone who, from a lifetime, cooks with love.

A pleasant surprise

I stayed at this agriturismo by accident. I was walking the Via Francigena and this place is definitely not one to arrive at on foot ! However Massimo drove down to pick me up and dropped me back down the next morning.

The agriturismo is situated in a picturesque hilltop hamlet high above Pontremoli. Massimo doesn't speak much English, but he told me he has had visitors from many countries without  problems.

My room was very clean and comfortable with private facilities. At dinner, much was produce of the hamlet  - wine, preserved meats, grappa - and Massimo also cooks for larger groups. This was a delightful stay and I recommend it for anyone, especially travelling by car, through this part of northern Tuscany
