We had the villa booked for a week for a wedding with 20  family members coming from Australia, UK and Zimbabwe.  Don’t expect to have your own room with shower and toilet as the facilities are shared with some rooms needing you to walk through some one else’s bedroom to get to the bathroom.  Not much fun in the middle of the night or go for a long walk.   The fridges for 20 people in the kitchen were very small and the lack of a kettle meant we were boiling water in a large saucepan and using a ladle to scoop the water into mugs to make tea and coffee.  The laundry has restricted hours of 0900-1600 so you can’t pop in and do your washing when you have time. Rooms which faced the sun in the morning and got very hot had air conditioners with all the switches removed.  We could not find any fans.  The beds were uncomfortable and 2 of the couples in the party actually removed the mattresses to sleep on the floor. 
It was a beautiful place for a wedding but the Villa is looking tired and the furniture is looking very old, however if you are looking for accommodation for a large group of people with history, a beautiful outside area and lots of rooms to give you a feeling of space you can’t go wrong.

Historical Villa Stay

This was a magical place and gave us an unforgettable experience. The Villa is stunning and the opportunities for beautiful photographs and experiences are too many to mention. From loggias with frescoes to bedrooms with painted shutters, a delight everywhere you looked.
Elvira and Julia made our special day extra special helping prepare and serve the meal and Marina the owner was charming, welcoming and very helpful both before and throughout our visit.
The pool was perfect for a family gathering and I can think of no better place to have been. 
We didn’t bother going into Verona as the Villa was everything we needed.

Anniversary Celebration

Sixteen of us spent a week at the villa in August 2016 and May 2019, to celebrate family birthdays.  It is a beautiful building, with plenty of space, lovely gardens and a nice pool. The owner and staff we now view as friends. The location is perfect for day trips to famous nearby cities (Verona, Mantua, Padua, Vicenza, Venice).

The charm of a luxurious country house, the Italian garden lodges are incredibly charming, the frescoed walls that bear witness to the passage of time, the first floor with beautiful kitchen floors, an authentic house that the signs of the times make unique.

We took our group of 15 there for a family reunion. The home is comfortable but please be aware that air conditioning in Italy is expensive. They do have fans which worked well in early August, but if you use the air conditioning they recommend that it is not going all the time. The home is very large and quite nice. Do consider using the housekeeper for cooking meals. She is quite good and will even do shopping for you at a reasonable hourly rate. The home is in the country side and is a farm estate. Grocery shopping is close by and Verona is about 20 minutes away.The villa is a historic home lover's dream with parts of it being about 500 years old. I would go again happily.

Incredibly beautiful historic home!

A fairy tale week: a really beautiful house, a well-kept Italian garden, a large courtyard with a family chapel too... a very nice cozy room with a nice bathroom.

Big weekend.

Our group of 8 rented Villa Zambonia for one week. We selected this Villa based on the beautiful pictures on the website. The Villa was  NOTHING like the pictures represented. It was not very clean when we arrived and the place was infected with ants and stink bugs which were everywhere. When we returned each day after a day of touring, we found thousands of ants all over the kitchen counters and stink bugs on the walls, in our beds and on the furniture, everywhere. We complained to the owner's representative only to be told to use the can of bug spray they provided. The Villa was not comfortable at all. There was no place to sit and relax as the furniture was so old and uncomfortable that noone wanted to sit on it. The pool was full of leaves and dirty and no one in our group would consider going in.  
The entire week we left the Villa early in the morning and would not return until late at night because no one wanted to spend time there.  The Villa is adjacent to a main road which is heavy traveled by very noisy trucks. The sounded like they were driving through our bedroom every night, all night.

If we had not paid in full in advance of our trip, we would have never stayed at this place.  We arrived late in the afternoon and after a long trip to Italy, our group was very tired and the town of Vigasio is very small and we could not easily find alternative logging. We decided to try to make the best of a very bad situation.

Do yourself a favor and PASS THIS ONE BY!

A B&B definitely recommended, a fairytale place in the countryside near Verona, what to say... the photos speak for themselves... a classy, clean, very nice place, and we were with our dogs and they were welcome!
