Very tranquil and traditional style onsen/hotel. Pleasant boat shaped rotemburos (outside onsen). Onsen was full of locals which is always a good sigm. Easy walk from the station. Funny thing about walking around Ajigasawa was the extraordinary number of barber shops. Maybe something in the water makes hair grow quicker here.

Nice old world style onsen

After a friendly (rare in the Tohoku) welcome, zealous and sparkling, one discovers a modern and comfortable room. The meals are good and made from local seafood and the service is of a kind discretion. The onsens are wide, clean and pleasant, with a boat-shaped rotenburo. The site itself is not exceptional, 2 steps from the road and train station, without interesting views, but the hotel itself, surrounded by a solaya garden, is located not far from the coast which is a good starting point for the visit. A special mention for the snowflow on the departure in the morning (a rarity in the hotel in this area before our departure)!!!.

Good value for money

If you travel famous sight seeing Gono Line and prefer the trad Japanese style inn, this is the inn you should stay the night.

This inn is located near Ajigasawa station just 5 minutes on foot. Also you can hop on a courtsy bus operated by the inn.
The common space including an entrance area and a dinning space of the inn has an old samurai era navy interior.

The hot spring in this inn is called "Fossile Seawater Hot Spring" which is very rich in salt and natural minerals so that it works as Thalassa-Therapy and leaves your body warm even after you are out of the hot spring. Local people also come and enjoy this great hot spring.

Food is full of local tastes. You will find lots of 'never seen before in Australia' like mountain vegetables, salty pickled squid, turban shell and salvelinus, but they are all cooked in great manner with local products. Those are the foods Japanese feel 'This is trad Japanese'. Hope you broaden your horizon here. 
If you are a gourmet person, you should try their local produced sake. You will find great marriage between the foods and the sake.

As a traditional Japanese inn, most of rooms do not have a bed. I believe some Aussie have difficulty to sleep on the floor with futon mattress. Please ask a room with bed if you have back problem.

Trad Japanese Inn inspired by the Samurai era Navy

Nice food- fresh seafood very friendly superb service. Must re-visit . Pass. Clean room . Bath Onsen is very interesting to experience - more to salt type -must try for yourselves and to feel.
Ride to place easy to navigate. Staff are fantastic to make us comfortable.
Downside - Wifi only limited to common place but not so good in the room. Food provide too much for dinner - over consume for the night.
