We enjoyed our stay here at Kenyaways. Our family stayed in the Bandit room which had a good vibe with rustic charm as advertised.
The open living room was nice but you should be comfortable with some bugs and the occasional monkey peeking in, it can also be a bit wet during the heavy rains if the wind is blowing.

The staff was great and helpful with anything we needed including day tours. The housekeeping staff was very friendly and kept things fresh daily.

One of the best parts was the restaurant as the food was excellent and reasonably priced with friendly staff. It is also right on the beach which was beautiful.

We would stay again at Kenyaways but would book an enclosed room next time. Overall we enjoyed our time there.

Good place with a cool vibe

The so called pool room l was in, stank of mold. Was told l would be moved, three days later was offered the room nextdoor which was equally dank. On the 4th morning the room flooded (guess I know why it stinks of mold) and after repeated requests someone finally came to clean it. I checked out the next day, Earlier than my booking. Found a place on airbnb for 25% cheaper & 100% nicer. Go elsewhere!

Over priced!

I really enjoyed my stay at Kenyaways. It's a very homely, rustic old house set on beautiful Diani beach. The rooms are very attractive and scrupulously clean and the staff are delightful. We really enjoyed eating at the Salty Squid, so much so that my friend and I ate every meal here throughout our four night stay. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.


Rustic beach retreat

Very charming and pleasant hotel with the gorgeous beach of Diani Beach right next door. We had a very good stay downstairs. We were in the Park room. The + - Restaurant incredible small mention for the little dej that is delicious and healthy. - Sublime beach and very comfortable long chairs (you don't have to struggle to get one there is enough for all the guests of the hotel) - Authentic and original hotel that doesn't seek to provide amenities that they don't know. - Deco of the hotel very pretty. - Just next door to the Kurf Hotel H2O find a mention of Evelyn who was a lovely tres to start this small sport. - It really requires good hygiene - very personal hygiene - The doors don't need to be separated from the hotel - I don't even want to go into the bedroom - but we have a very nice wifi - and I recommend that you go into the hotel - even if the hotel has a very small toilet seat - I don't want to go into the bathroom - but I'm sure that it doesn't have a very dry toilet seat.

A beautiful hotel, very hospitable and pleasant.

The absolute best part of Kenaways is the location! Practically right on pristine beach and next door (literally mere steps) to my favourite restaurant, the Salty Squid. The staff were all exceptional as well (although it was often hard to find someone at reception). I did dock a star because we felt the room we had was more rustic and smaller than the photos depicted, and the bathroom (primarily the shower) really needs some renovating. Otherwise a lovely stay. 

Lovely location but rooms need some updating 

The complex is next door to a large building site: cement mixers, screetching grinders and hammering all day and until well into the night - eleven, twelve, fifteen hours - non-stop.  In the garden area, the noise is ear-piercing and even indoors, with doors and windows shut, it's still loud enough to disrupt zoom calls. One night, it went on until 2am. 

I wore noise cancelling earphones most of the time, but even that wasn't enough to cut out the racket and at night, the vibrations from every bang were palpable through the mattress.  Despite complaints, the noise levels did not drop. It was so relentless, I moved out. 

Be aware that your payments are not protected as they use Pesapal, rather than Paypal or Credit card that offer a reasonable amount of protection against scams like this.  And yes, it is a scam: it's been going on for months and the owner did nothing to warn prospective guests.    

The houses being built are nowhere near finished. My advice to anyone contemplating booking this year (2023) - don't.

unbearably noisy

We stayed here for 6 nights on our honeymoon and it was an absolute delight. Our bedroom opened onto the beach, what more could you want (I didn't see any other hotels on Diani with this). Also the best body scrub and full body massage I've ever had! Amazing and helpful staff with heaps of local knowledge and there is a beautiful boutique on site selling local products and a fab restaurant next door - can't recommend enough.

Best place in Diani

The rooms and feel of the place was perfect - we stayed in ‚Rebel‘ with a lovely balcony. 
Emmanuel on the desk and all staff were friendly and helpful. We spent a lot of time in Salty Squid restaurant downstairs and again the staff were so nice and friendly. We had to leave very early in the morning and they kindly packed us up a breakfast the night before which was much appreciated. 
Worth noting that we tried to get kitesurfing lessons from the place within Kenyaways and they were fully booked for the next few days so could be good to book ahead if it is something you want to do.

We were sad to leave Kenyaways after just 3 nights there. A really excellent stay.

we had a great stay at a KenyaWays - been wanting to come there for years and when we finally did -it was a nice as we had imagined. I have lived and worked in Kenya/the region for the past decade and been to the coast many times - this is definitely a cool and relaxed place to stay. The restaurant, Salty Squid, which is hosted by there is also nice - great breakfasts included in the room price. if you are looking for a calm chilled place - this is it. management communicated well in advance on the construction next door which seems to be over soon and also did not bother us much anyway. it should
define not keep you from
going as far as we are concerned. the people working at the restaurant and the accommodation were all super nice and helpful.

Thank you Kenyaways Staff - this is as just the holiday we had hoped for.

fab spot - nic vibe

I can't wait to go back!

We were very pleased with the service, the room, and the restaurant. Sitting on the terrace with the ocean breeze while reading was almost the best part of our time in Kenya. The beach is soft, white sand and the Indian Ocean is beyond compare.
