The good- 
1/ what you see is what you get. Nice kampung houses situated at a remote area next to a pristine beach. Very calm. 
2/ no internet connectivity, no wifi and very weak mobile coverage. Good to disconnect.

The bad- 
1/ Its more like an airbnb rental. No/lack of a proper hospitality service. Everything had to be done DIY. Went around looking for pool towels, getting coffee, etc...
2/ 2-3 locals are only real estate caretakers with minimal hospitality experience. Room was not cleaned daily. Not sure if we had to ask, the lady at the front desk did not mention anything.
3/ No one actually greeted us when we reached the place. Had to wait before the gate was opened by the gardener. The caretaker came out 10 mins after we went about looking for the check in place.
4/ Food quality was so and so. Am ok to book in advance but the first day dinner we ordered was below par so we decided not to eat in. No real value for money. However the place is so remote that the next descent restaurant was 5-6km away.
5/ A lot of mosquitoes at night. Even though there is a mosquito spray provided, it would be better if a mosquito repellent plugged to the power outlet can be provided as well. Mosquito nets around the bed provided some comfort for a good night sleep.
6/ lack of security around the premise. Came back from town at night, opened the gates, parked inside and walked around. No one to be seen or came out to check who we were. No phones in the room to call for service or in case of any emergencies.

All in all we came for a weekend escapade. We got what we wanted from the property but it would have been better if the place is really managed by experienced service staff.

Nice heritage village but lack of a proper hospitality service... no value for money

This place is a majestic! I am so in love and admired every detailing of it's architectural, impeccable arrangement of interior & exterior and well preserved antiques...it's a real treasure. I really appreciate on how this place is well kept and to keep all the malay heritage that is to be seen and experince by all of us and definately the younger generation. Terrapuri is absolutely a gem!

Absolutely a gem!

I stay here for one night only with my family 2 daughter age 10 and 13. we stay in pulau musang house. with so call grand deluxe i think is just the same size with other houses. just it has 1 king and 1 single bed. the theme of this place is nice. i like it they offer experience not like other places. nice place for picture. 

food is delicious. we eat dinner. rice and tenggiri sambal is so nice. rice with ayam goreng kunyit also very delicious. breakfast feel like home. 

bed is nice. water shower n sink maybe little bit slow compare to hotel. got some problem with the aircond. maybe each house need 2 set of aircond to cool it. its so hot inside the house. the wooden house attracts many small2 bugs. 

staff not so many. one staff do all the things. she cook, she drive us to jetty, she clean. but they are nice people. overall still the place is well maintain.

nice theme

For a resort that has been running for years, its well maintained. As we all know maintenance is one of the hardest and important part of running a resort or hotel let alone that its mostly built with wood. The Resort is as peaceful as always.

Amazing Scenery and Architecture as always, well maintained

I had practically fallen in love with Terrapuri since the 1st time I step in here about 7 years ago.  So much so i came again with some friends for a 2nd stay in 2017 and repeated for the 3rd time recently on 29 Aug 2020 for a 2 nite stay with family and friends breaking away from the hustle and bustle of city lives.  The main attractions were definitely the rare architecture of all the villas, the wonderful landscapes, the tranquility and peacefulness of the place to name a few but the very best part and reasons that makes me wanting to come back more was the loving and caring staffs who run the place.  They are a bunch of awesome people who makes you really feel welcomed. They possessed a graciousness and warmth that put their guests at ease.  They reallly make us feel at home away from home. We can see that they tried all their best to please all the guests and we were very grateful this time because they fulfilled our wish to have nasi dagang for breakfast..goshhhh..what can I say..they are just awesome!!  To the management of Terrapuri..thumbs up for having a bunch of caring, loving and hardworking staffs..kudos!! Will certainly come back again for more pampering with tender loving care..much love to all the staffs..you guys rock!!

Heavenly weekend!!!

We checked in on 29th August 2020...this was our 2nd visit to the place. We chose Terrapuri Heritage Village coz we fall in love with the architecture beauty of the villas & buildings. My family love it there...no WiFi, TV, phone or gadgets...just you & nature.

However, this time I was so frustrated with the services given by the staff. Not only that we were discriminated against some hotshot son of a founder for some beauty product which we don’t really know or care but the services were a lot slacking. We waited for more than half & hour for our breakfast to arrive. They only served us fried bee hoon. No menu displayed to inform us what’s for breakfast & when we asked why some of the guests are having nasi dagang, they replied stating that the guests ordered for it. They could just let us know when we reserved or checked in that we can request for special order. 

We paid the same price as them so I don’t see why were we being mistreated badly. Not only that the staff are rude, they are also seen as lazy. Don’t bother to refill the bread or checked whether the guests are ok or not.

It is a big disappointment to see such a wonderful resort being tarnished by the act of certain individuals who are tasked to take care of the place.

This will be our last visit here...sorry but no, thanks!

Architectural Beauty but Service Sucks

Not worth the price that I paid for 3 days 2 nights. When I reach this place there is no proper reception counter to welcome you.
Foods served are good but not much choices. 
The room in the morning and afternoon is very hot even if you open the window or switch on the air one or fans.

The tour that we signed up was just average and the staff who took us there does not seem to be knowledgeable at all. 

When I was there recently early March 2020 only me and husband staying there. At night this place looks spooky. Luckily I booked the room near the swimming pool which costs me additional RM108 per night. I will definitely not coming back here anymore.

Quiet and boring stay

The resort located almost at the end of Penarik village in Setiu District, Terengganu. Generally, we attracted to stay at the resort because of its architectural features. It is a conservation and restoration project of hundred years old Terengganu Malay classic houses. We were served with iced tea and keropok ikan (a type of fried fish cracker) as welcoming snacks. Our room located close to the lobby area and swimming pool. It is really brought us back to ancient time since there is no TV nor wifi in the room. Even to enter the resort, you have to pull the bell to alert staff to open the gate manually.

Classic Terengganu Malay resort

TERRAPURI: The Land of Palaces.

I was here again after few years back during my final year trip. The first time I stepped into this wonderful paradise, I was amazed by the old wooden Terengganu Malay houses, carefully restored to its original condition in this serene and calm spaces located in one of the most gorgeous village in Malaysia. 

Spend a night here with my mom and wife, have the whole places by ourself because of Monsoon season. Luckily the weather was very forgiving, God allow us to enjoy the cold breeze atmosphere with a little drizzle. 

The food we ordered for our dinner was superb. Especially the Kari Ikan Tenggiri. Definitely a nice place to escape from the hustle and bustle city life. 

Hidden Gem in Terengganu 

We arrived as a family of three in the facility. We had booked online, so we knew about what was coming. But the suburbs are overwhelmed. The former old fishing village is so authentically renovated and lovingly designed that you can't get out of the surprise. Unfortunately, we only stayed one night. What prevented us from getting the full score was the receptionist who seemed a little bored and the dinner that didn't bring much sharpness outside of a place. The booked trip to the Fireflies was a thrill.
