We stayed at Maltese Maltese for the central location in town and the shops and restaurants nearby. But we were unfortunate enough to get the London room which happens to be just a few yards away from the very busy Rodolphu street. To make matters worse the window and shutters have seen better days and are anything but soundproof.
As a consequence we had trouble getting enough sleep, the traffic would roar by as early as six a.m. and subside only at very late hours, specially on weekends. And the management could offer nothing better than accommodate us  in a quieter room for a couple of days whereas we had booked for ten days.
In retrospect, this kind of inconvenience has left us a somewhat mitigated and rather unpleasant memory.

Tough time to get enough sleep

My husband and I spent 4 nights here and we both didn't expect to like everything so much! Firstly, the interior was amazingly beautiful and thoughtful. We lived in a 2nd floor room called Malta. Secondly, we were surrounded by even more care than in a 5 star hotel! Nastya, thanks to you our arrival in Malta has been much more memorable! I made several requests and they all came true instantly. Breakfast is delicious, especially bread, cheese and beans. Fruits, tea and coffee are available all day and available at any time.

The best place to relax!!

Excellent experience, great location, big room, well decorated, lovely hosts, few minutes Walt to the ferry, large garden with relaxing area and a swimming pool, few restaurants nearby, very good wi-fi

Great vacation, Great room

Location is perfect: walking distance from promenade, ferries, coffee shops and restaurants. Bus to Valletta less than a minute away.
The house itself is a 150 years old town house carefully restored, adding modernity while keeping the old charm. Rooms are larger than usual, some junior suite size, some have balcony or terrace.
Large garden with swimming pool, sun-beds and olive trees to unwind after a day out.

Perfect from all aspects

We just came back from a 4-night stay at Maltese Maltese. It’s a lovely property, full of character and very well decorated. The location is perfect to walk to the harbour or take the bus to visit the North of the island.

The room we stayed in was lovely, clean and spacious enough, so was the bathroom. Saying that our room wasn’t cleaned during our stay, nor were the towels changed. We liked the nice touches such as the added beach towels and mosquito pug. As well as the big bottles of shampoo which feels a lot less wasteful as the usual small ones provided in B&B and hotels. Good WiFi too!

There were however a few things that could be improved, the main one being breakfast. It’s a do-it-yourself kind of system where you get to use the kitchen and help yourself to what is on offer. We personally found this a bit too hands on and awkward. Like being in someone else’s kitchen and trying to reach across people to butter your toast and make a tea. We also ended up doing our washing up every morning as no one explained us if it was ok to leave it in the sink... breakfast itself was also too basic, it would have been nice to have fresh bread and pastries on offer.

We also found the room to be quite noisy, oddly the hosts were mainly responsible for the noise. They had the bad habit of talking to each over from across the living area which was right next to our room.

Generally the hosts didn’t try very hard to make us feel welcome and on our last morning before check out they were in the kitchen while we were having breakfast but barely acknowledged us, nor did they offer us orange juice or coffee (which had been tidied away by 9.20am when breakfast is meant to be available until 10.30am). They watched us do our washing up and leave the room without thanking us for our stay or wishing us a nice journey back. We felt quite miffed to be ignored in such a way and this unfortunately left us with a bad last feeling of the place.

Lovely room, but hosts need more experience

Nice guesthouse, delicious owners.New themed and well-maintained rooms.They even provide you with adapters for the electrical outlets.Maybe you need to improve the cleaning service in the room.Once every three days, especially if you go to the sea it's a little bit small, even if you get shelters and lots of towels

So the location of the hotel is convenient for traffic in Sliema, the infrastructure is optimal, you can find supermarkets and restaurants nearby. Also the owners give you helpful tips for the surroundings. So much for the good side... but the quality of the rooms is more than disappointing. On the one hand, it smells like drained water in the rooms, which probably comes from the air conditioning system. The location of the hotel on a busy street makes it hard to get a good night's sleep in the room and you can see everywhere open cables from the walls. Oh, and there was no room cleaning during our stay. Moreover, breakfast is nothing for people with a sensitive stomach.

A great illusion

My husband, my parents and I all stayed here for a week, what can I say...it was BRILLIANT! 
Loved our room (Malta room) and my parents room was lovely too (can’t remember what it was called). 
The owners are all lovely, so helpful, including their wee dog (she’s soo cute). 
The outdoor seating area’s are so nice, the pool is also great. 
Honestly would recommend staying here and would book again if we come back to Malta (we hopefully will).

Fantastic

We had an excellent week in Maltese Maltese, the owners Olla and Matt couldn’t have been more helpful - accommodation very quirky and clean  our rooms were very spacious the pool and garden area was fab 😎 we will be back

Nice accommodation, from one of the many historic Maltese residences. Few rooms, all themed and a great indoor garden with a mini pool. Some things not said should be better specified. After our experience I would call it more a hostel with a private bathroom, rather than a B&B. Staff almost never present, rooms refurbished once a week (including towel change), very little breakfast and then you have to put your own things in dishwashers. Okay they tell you that if you want more than what is offered just ask and you are met (see room cleaning), but this thing a little more in subjection, it would be more correct to specify what services come and what not and the quality of the services included.
