We booked a stay for 2 nights through Orbitz.com and upon check in we realized the pool was not working and was indeed a mosquito breeding pond.  OK...I get it, sometimes properties undergo renovations but at least empty out the pool water?  The biggest deception, however, was when we entered our room (2 pieces of large luggage, no elevator) and tried to work from our room on our laptops.  No wifi.  Guy at the from desk said wifi only worked in the common areas (they lie and say it works in the bedrooms but it doesn't) and well we deal with sensitive info/conversations so that was the deal breaker.  Front desk guy spoke with the owner, who agreed to refund us all our money but now they are nowhere to be found by Orbitz to issue the full refund.

Beware - Not truthful in advertising NO WIFI in ROOMS

I would not stay here again, but not because of the place.  First time for us in Ajijic or Chapala, we flew in to Guadalajara, and took an Uber to the hotel.  Unfortunately, La Riberena is incorrectly mapped within the Uber app, AND on Google Maps.  Which meant our Uber driver had to ask 6 people how to get here. The time spent trying to find the hotel resulted in a higher Uber cost for us.  Plus it was dark, which made it even more difficult to find.  The hotel is a former residence, nestled amongst other residences.  No large signs.  TIP:  If you type in FINCA LA  RIBERENA, Uber and Google Maps will be able to find the hotel.  Next, there are very few restaurants within walking distance, and very few taxi drivers available (at least that was our experience on the night we checked in).  Zero Uber drivers.  We were hungry and fortunately for us, there was a place in Ajijic that delivered food.  Now on to the room.  They put us in #9, an upstairs corner room.  Great view of the lake.  The room itself was clean.  Bed a little hard, because it sits on a concrete base.  Wifi was strong enough to allow us to surf, and to watch Netflix before bed.  Big shower, hot water (took a while to get hot, but once hot, had to turn it down).  Nice, thick towels.  I wouldn't stay here again because it was too far away from where we wanted to be.  If you like super quiet and total relaxation, this might be the place for you.  There are tables and chairs, but no indication that this hotel offers any food.  

Decent place, out of the way

Don’t come here. Our room was dank, the bathroom was dirty with mold, shower didn’t work, sink didn’t drain. No heat and weather at night is in the 40s. Left the next day. Manager said he would fully refund our deposit. We have not received it. He evades our 
Attempts to contact him...says he does not speak English ! He won’t answer the phone.

Beware !

The first day they didn't clean up because it was the day of the maid's break that the customer pays for. To get out and enter it's a show because you have to open and close the door manually. The internet is very poor and little signal almost never reaches the room. If you touch noisy neighbors in the morning they do nothing about it. The cable fell off and they couldn't fix it left me all afternoon depending on the cell phone with little signal from the internet. They told me that until the day it was fixed. I've been chasing for the bill every day and don't send it to me. He asked to talk to the manager and still didn't, but he still doesn't give me the face.

It's not recommended.

We escaped on a Monday to visit the chapala and the beach, we had already seen this hotel on Facebook and it seemed like a good option to stay overnight. The price was good, the place was practically for us alone. It has a nice terrace overlooking the lake, the pool looked a little turbid but it was fine. There is only one person waiting but good service, they don't have much to do with service, but they probably have more to do on the weekend. But it is an excellent place to relax and if we have a good time, we will definitely return.

La Ribereña is a private place surrounded by peace and tranquility, where you can rest and enjoy your partner or family, located by Lake Chapala, highly recommended!!!.

A space for lovers.

Reservations were made by phone and yet I was treated very well. You were expecting me with my key and my towels to get me to the pool. We were allowed to use the rooms ahead of time. The pool and garden have a front view of Lake Chapala. Clean and spacious bathrooms. Cama king size. A very relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommended.

 An excellent weekend in the Magic Village of Ajijic!

It's an incredibly quiet space, where enjoying the lake breeze takes you to a place of peace and relaxation. highly recommended to share with your partner and escape the city for a weekend and you can stroll through the beautiful and magical village.

It's a wonderful weekend trip.

The place is private, in a closed street, which by the way has no number, but in 5 minutes you are in the center of ajijic. It is not a hotel as such, it is like a kind of apartments, the largest near the street and the smaller around the pool, it is beautiful. We chose the cabin 1, it has two floors, kitchen, dining room on the ground floor as well as a full bathroom, and two bedrooms and another upstairs, the steep stairs, they look like some kind of Dutch ones. Quite comfortable, however, there were hair all over the floor, trapped hair, the Creote barrer before us!! that we lack a TV in the other room or in the other room, since only one is insufficient for the property.

Disappointed with the alberca...

We were the only guest here on Monday. Views are to die for and the staff made us feel so at home. Oversized king bed you didn't wanna get out of and the bathroom huge and nice. They offer free canoes and breakfast on the weekend's. Also huge grill to cook your own steaks.
