I spent two nights in this hotel with my team and I was really horrified.It is extremely dirty, we had to order clean sheets to put on top of the bed, since the ones that were put on had leftovers of food, hair, mocos, manches and in one of the beds until we found a cockroach.We checked several of the rooms of our colleagues and they were the same.Those who had the carpet were even worse, the oil and humidity, the dust and of course with spending a few minutes there, we had a sore throat, nose and eyes.The bathrooms or talking, the paper and the towels were full of stains of all kinds.We had potential water the day we left and after 10 minutes, the day was cold and you were hoping for something nice.There was something nice that you could find in the previous building, the dust and of course with spending a few minutes there, we had a sore throat, nose and eyes.The bathrooms and the towels were full of stains of all kinds.We had a potent water on the day we left and after 10 minutes, the day was cold

It was a terrible experience.

The bad experience began when, after booking a double room, we were given a simple one by mistake and wanted to charge more for a double one (their prices on the page were bad).Although the building, lobby and hallways are quite picturesque, the room they gave us was terrible, there was no hot water, the bed looked old and uncomfortable, there was no television, I could never connect the wifi and the bathroom looked quite careless and old, the rusty drainage, the molded ceiling (including a hole where the pipe passed through which you could hear the next room) have a lot to improve, especially because of the central location they have, if it could be said that it is the only good thing about this hotel.

Rooms in poor condition.

I had to spend three days in this Hotel because it was the only one with a vacancy in town. The wonderful hall will deceive you: you are in an ancient colonial building. Yes, but rooms are terribile: no windows, no hot water, no T.V., no wi-fi and mold on the bathroom wall. Plus, nobody speaks English and the Restaurant was already closed at 8 pm  (and breakfast is at 8.30 am!!!)! 
Hotel Colonial is a wonderful building but it really needs some renovation. Rooms should definitely be renewed. Anyway, if you're looking for a place more discreet than hostels and you want to save money, you're in the right place.

It's cheap but...

In the hotel number you can give an idea of what you will find: a hotel, which is in fact colonial, with vast common areas and an unbeatable location (in the centre of Lagos). the rooms have a rustic atmosphere and are bohemian, more than anything. the bed is nice, although the mattress is hard. the times I have had cable TV, normal or flat-screen TV does not serve the TV (because they stole the control), although the price is the same. it can be better, no doubt.

The hotel is clean, the people are friendly, it is very well situated, only that some of the furniture is neglected (for example, a furniture for resting with a burn) and smells like cleaning products.

A clean, beautiful building.

The count was the owner of the rich gold mine, La Valenciana in Guanajuato.  He would stay in this home on his way to the capital city of Zacatecas.  The city, Lagos de Moreno, just completed its 450 year old birthday!  It is a UNESCO World Heritage site with many pretty places to visit within this old city.  The hotel is right in the center next to the Catedral.  The garden is there, the bars, night clubs, etc.  If you love a colonial style hotel, this place is exactly what you want.  Only thing is that the beds are really hard.  But, it's an old place so I guess that makes up for it.  You'll feel like you're getting the full authentic experience.  Enjoy!
