So many reasons to stay here, starting with an ideal location just off the malecon and steps from restaurants and life in Centro; it looks like a movie set at night with romantic lighting all around. The property has just 8 rooms with extensive balconies covered with plants and flowers, and overlooks the ocean from the roof, so it feels substantial even in smaller rooms (we liked the privacy of #6, compared to the on-street noise from bigger #8). It's also kept scrupulously clean.

Breakfast is solid, filtered water always available, the small pool is fine for exercise or lazing, and staff has worked together for a long time, with the place running smoothly in every way. They went the extra mile for us, too, taking us to the bus station to help figure out transport. Such professionalism and kindness are so welcome on the road. Miss you all at the Casa, and look forward to our return.  

Sweet home away from home

Perfect location. Great free breakfast. Wonderful bar attached to the hotel. Doesn't stay open too late. They usually have high-quality music and activities for locals. The food is great. Free wifi, nice size TV, quality mattresses, and sheets.
 Great value when including the free breakfast for us both and the fact we didn't need a taxi for anything all week... what a plus. Flat walking central location.

Hidden gem

We wanted to stay in a small, boutique hotel. We are SO glad we chose this one! It is perfectly located one block from the thrumming, happy malecon and just a few blocks from the central square. The whole place was spotless. The included breakfast was very pleasant. We felt welcome, well cared for and comfortable. Three caveats: the pool is quite tiny, the malecon is noisy at night (bring earplugs) and it was hard to mix the shower water temperature because the handles were unmarked. Absolutely everything else was perfect. 

A true gem

Very nice, close to the historic center and the sea. The people who work there are very friendly, breakfast included very rich. Quiet and familiar atmosphere. We take two dogs and we gave them a blanket and platto, we never had any problems getting in and out with them, etc. The spacious and clean rooms, very Mexican everything.

Very pretty and pet friendly!!

By chance we were transferred to this hotel and we felt very comfortable. The house is very quiet and is located right on the Mallecon, the tourist centre is also very well reached on foot. The rooms, or the entire hotel, are beautiful and designed with love. During breakfast in the courtyard, you enjoy a lot of tranquility. The staff is absolutely friendly and helpful.

A beautiful house with plenty of peace

This is great place to stay, wonderful staff, location, rooms. Nice small pool, great breakfast, so walk to the main street and the beach. I want to mention the staff again. They were just great. Tried so hard to make sure everything was right.


We love this place.

This is a wonderful small hotel - only 8 rooms.  They take great care of you and breakfast is included. Walking distance to many restaurants, the famed malecon and museums.
This is not a cookie cutter high rise hotel experience, you will be rewarded with a true Mazatlan vibe.

A perfect Centro Mazatlan small hotel.

We stayed in this hotel 5 years ago and were anxious to return, although we knew that the ownership had changed. Upon our arrival we were warmly greeted and told that our room would be ready for an early check-in. Unfortunately, once we entered the room it was apparent that the hotel had become run down. The furniture was stained, dresser drawers didn’t close, the mattress was uncomfortable and there were numerous holes in the walls. The common areas were well kept, the staff were incredibly accommodating and the breakfasts were very nice. The hotel is one block from the ocean and conveniently located in the historic district. We were able to walk to restaurants and galleries.
With upgrades this hotel could be an extraordinary place to stay in Mazatlán.

Great staff, upgrades needed

Casa de Leyendas was wonderful.  All of the staff was friendly and helpful, I was treated as a friend not just a hotel guest.  My room was charming, the bed was comfortable, the shower always had plenty of hot water.  There was variety in the included breakfast, and everything was spotlessly clean.  There were 4 areas for lounging, a living room with a large tv, a rooftop terrace, a terrace with tables and loungers and another terrace with tables and an ocean view.  I had the smallest room, number 5, and it was great for me as a solo traveler.  The hotel is only one block from the ocean, a few blocks from the Plazuela Machado, and really the nicest place one could think of to stay.  The area is extremely safe and I feel comfortable at all times in the hotel and the surrounding area.  The staff speaks English, so it doesn't matter if you don't speak Spanish.

Comfortable, beautiful, friendly, and safe.

I loved everything about this hotel. Central location with plenty of restaurants nearby.  Easy access to the Malecon de Mazatlan and Plaza Machado. All the other major attractions are a short walk away. The breakfast was great, with decent options. The WIFI and AC worked fine.
The staff was wonderful and very helpful. I would like to thank Veronica, Victor and Eduardo for making the stay very enjoyable. Highly recommend this hotel.
