My wife and I stayed there on our way from Puerto Vallarta to Laredo, Texas ... we picked this hotel only because it was pet friendly.  The room was dated but clean ... there was major construction going on next door and although there was no work ongoing while we were there the area was not very inviting.  We were there on a Saturday night and the guests next door were very noisy and so were guys revving their muscle car engines in the hotel parking lot outside our window at midnight!  We had the windows open as there was no AC or fan in the room.  I don’t think that we would be back again.

Reasonable value for the money 

There are pros and cons to this hotel. The location is perfect for me. I frequently travel through Mexico by car with my dog. It's right off the freeway, pet friendly, with it's own ample parking garage and it's very cheap. Everyone who works here has always been really nice and helpful. The rooms are nicely decorated and include complimentary cookies, bottled water and very nice soaps. However the beds are a little harder than I like, and I typically don't have hot water and end up forgoing the shower. And despite the nice decor the lights are just bare fluorescent bulbs hanging from wires in the ceiling (which I actually find kind of funny). The restaurant could use a better menu, but they're very nice about keeping my perishables in their fridge for me. They recently opened a British Pub as well, although I don't know how it stays in business as it's always empty and the pub manager who is (indeed) British speaks NO Spanish. Again, I really like him, he goes out of his way to please and is a really nice guy. 
I do appreciate the fact that the people who work at this hotel are honestly trying their best and I suppose I'll continue to stay there until I find a better option. I am looking for one though.

On a positive note, the evening front desk guy was nice, though he couldn't help me, friendlier  than the woman who checked me in before. My room was very basic and fairly clean. BUT! I had no internet in my room and wasted a lot of time talking to them and they acted like it could be fixed. No. My only option was to go to the front lobby. My window looked out on new construction, cement blocks next door, within touching distance. Virtually no ventilation and it was hot. They did not have a fan for me. Only the door knob had a lock, no dead bolt or other way to secure the room. During the night I woke up to the sounds of people moving around in the empty building next door. I had to keep my window open for the bit of air that came in. I was totally vulnerable. Someone could easily have come through the screen. I barely slept. The mattress  was a combination of hard and lumpy and listed to one side. Breakfast, included, started at 8 am, but they promised me I could get something to eat at 7 am.  The kitchen helped showed up only just as I was leaving, at 7:30. Absolutely not worth the price, and one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in.
