Our experience in Dar Antonio was so wonderful!!!!!! We feel like in our own home.Definitely for trust, comfort and attention services with Marhaba ( accommodation director) , we would return to Dar Antonio as well as recommend it.

COMFORT GENERAL Y ATENCION 100% TOP

We arrived before check-in time and did not hesitate to give us the room, the staff couldn't be more charming and always willing to help. The room was small but the bed was nice, everything very clean and new. There were 2 shared bathrooms and although a priori it was a bit cold, the water was so hot that at the time of ducharte you already had it. The views of the mountain from the terrace were very beautiful, and the hotel is located 3 minutes walk from the main square.

Volvería without a doubt.

El Dar Antonio is a small, very small place, in fact, it only has rooms without a bathroom and a shared bathroom, the rooms are fine, they are neither very large nor very small, and the best thing about their location is that you are close to everything, but not so close that the hustle and bustle won't let you rest.

A good place to stay.

A lovely, charming, cozy, quiet accommodation, with very good care and with a better location.In the same medina and not 5 minutes from the main square 'Outa Hammam'.Y of price, ¡supereconomic!! In my case, reserved by #Booking.Surely, I would come back and come back to the same place.

A magical, cozy, peaceful, economical, well-placed place...

When searching for accommodation in Chefchaouen i got distracted by a couple of reviews that were from my own country who praised this place I will review soon so I started looking into it. 

With 8.9 grade on the internet from over 640 reviews it sounded like a great deal especially since the price was very good. 

So I pressed the book button and that's how I ended up at Dar Antonio in Chefchaouen. 

Actually I ended up there after switching planes and driving a car for 5 hours from Fez but that's another story. 

I arrived at the place around 21:00(with a bit of help from a boy in the parking lot) and I truly think that without the help, after 19 hours of travel, I would have had some trouble finding it. 

During daytime it's easier but at night, being tired, it felt difficult at that time. 

What I can tell you from the start is that the host is great. A real good, helpful man that made my stay great with our talks or with little things I needed. 

Being inside the Blue City there is no parking available on the spot but you can leave your car in a paid/guarded parking lot just 100/150 meters away tops. 

From what I remember I paid about 4 eur/2 nights so the price is not really a problem. 

Outside, there's a small path that leads to the place and inside I smiled because it looked very small and pretty. 

I don't know exactly how many rooms Dar Antonio has but I guess no more than ten.
 
My room was situated at the top floor and as a word of caution, the stairs are very narrow so bringing a large suitcase could mean trouble or at least a very difficult time moving it up and down! 

The main advantage of having the upper room is that right outside there was a small terrace that I used on each night I spent there to relax and watch the stars. 

Since Chefchaouen is in the mountains and there are no huge buildings or strong pollution the stars are visible each night. Or at least when I visited I was able to see them on both occasions. 

The room was small but clean. The host showed me where the extra blankets were in case i got cold(which I did but I guess it was due to how tired I was not necessarily to cold weather). 

There is also a small kitchenette where you can prepare breakfast if you want or deposit some things to eat later. 

Regarding the bathroom I have mixed feelings. 

As a solo traveler I did not mind that it was a shared bathroom. From my room I had to go down two small flights of stairs to reach it. Since I don't wake up at night to go to the bathroom I was OK with the positioning and only used it to shower before going to explore the city. 

But if you know you're waking up at night and need to use the bathroom or you need to clean your hands or just don't enjoy walking outside your room to shower then this place is not for you.

I had no problems with it as a solo traveler but I totally understand people who do not enjoy shared bathrooms. This was in fact, from what I remember now, the first time I booked a room with a shared bathroom and while it was an OK experience I will still opt for private bathrooms on my trips.

Because I plan to keep my articles shorter I will end up this post by saying that Dar Antonio is really a great place to stay in while in Chefchaouen. 

The only disadvantage could be the bathroom but if you are travelling solo or just there for one or two days it is really not that big of an issue. 

As a bonus, because I forgot about it until now, the place has WiFi so you can easily share your pics with your loved ones when you reach your room.

Good stay

A beautiful little hostel in the middle of the blue Medina, a very friendly hostel father who prepared us a charmingly delicious Moroccan breakfast.

We were given the rooftop room and the heat was suffocating all day long. Obviously with only the ventilator, it was better outside the room than inside. We had to go down one or two floors with very large steps (35-40 cm, some, no exaggeration, should warn you because not everyone can climb those stairs) every time we wanted to go to the bathroom and it didn't help to want to return. If you stay here, please don't give us room 6, because the only good thing that has the views and are the same as those from the terrace.

We stayed here for two nights, the house looks like a fairy, small but well-maintained, the common bathrooms always clean, the shower in the stone, super helpful and kind staff, super recommended.

Jewelry

My sister and I spent two nights at Antonio's and we loved our stay. The setting is simply gorgeous and the Riyadh is decorated with a lot of taste. The different terraces are all more pleasant than each other and we loved to relax there after long walks. The room we occupied was very nice and well maintained (we didn't miss anything) As for Antonio, he is a very pleasant and friendly host that was a pleasure to discuss and share stories with him.

I am very dissappointed in how my stay ended at this Riad and to read the fear nongering comments towards the locals.  By end of my stay I realized Antonio/Hischam was following me when I was away from riad.  I was toks there was no musicians or live music, I was followed to cafe and warned I'd be locked out since I got along with Ganawa players and was hanging out with them.  My pain killers also went missing my last night when I let Antonio help me pack.  Its a beautiful property but I was discouraged from going out.  I was told to contact them if I got stuck or needed anything...after I left I was blocked on whatsapp when I was only asking for help with internet search.  Single ladies should avoid this riad.  Stay at Garden Molino instead.
