Hotel Tombouktou

The hotel grounds are just lovely and it is very quiet. The pool is clean and cool and the courtyard is a welcoming space to spend time in. We had a dinner included with our tour that was tasty and the buffet breakfast the next morning was good enough, although the ham tasted a little off, to be honest. Our room was very nice - tucked away in one part of the riad, with the main hall area decorated with artwork from along the ancient trade route. Each room is named after a stop on that network, which is kind of cool.

Our air conditioning worked very well and the room was well-appointed, but I found the beds too hard for my taste and did not have a good night sleep. By far the firmest bed I’ve ever slept on. But that was the only real negative. 

Quiet Oasis

We made a reservation on booking, and when we arrived the hotel manager told us that all the rooms are full and we have to find another hotel to stay in. It was almost midnight so that was very difficult. He pointed us to the hotel across the street, but that hotel was expensive, very cold and had no hot water. The manager also told us to cancel our reservation, which means we had to pay for cancelation. 
The hotel also has a lot of stray cats just running around and walking on the furniture. There is a high chance od getting a disease. 
I do not reccomand this hotel to anybody!! Don't go there. It was terrible! Just terrible.

Horrible!

SCAM ALERT, DOES NOT CARE ABOUT BOOKING RESERVATIONS, DOES NOT FEEL SAFE, SCAM ALERT! 

So we visited Fès as a group of four students. We got cheap flight tickets ad cheap booking- hotel Tombouktou (or so we thought... 😡)

We arrived at midnight to the very dark and shady enterance of the medina. Taxi ripped us off with the "I don't have change" trick and as we got to our hotel (Tombouktou) the owner said he was fully booked for the night and can't accept us... Although we had a reservation on booking! So he decided to "do us a favor" and he took us to a hotel across the street. Both the owner of the new place and him told us that this hotel is more expensive and "better", and was double the price for a 4 beds bedroom. We told the Tombouktou manager that this is not acceptable but he was very unfriendly.. and told us he will accept us tomorrow and that we have to cancel our booking because that's their "policy" ? .. We had no choice but to accept to stay in that hotel across the street, because it was nearly midnight. The room was cold and they promised us hot water but there was none.. So the next day we checked tripadvisor and people actually had to spend the night outside, so.. I thik we were actually lucky... We woke up early and found another place on tripadvisor called Riad la bauge de kenza, they accepted us and were very friendly, had hot water and private rooms and was about the same price as the hotel across the street of Tambouktou - where the manager will scam you if you will arrive at night (I have a feeling its a power play they do if you arrive late because you litteraly have no other option than accept if you don't want to stay on the streets scared of being robbed. 

So book somewhere else or you will end up paying more than you planned for a place that doesn't feel safe and is generally not worth it.. Rather go for a more expensive on web but the same price in reality, in the first place.

We stayed here for a week long holiday in December and had an amazing stay. This is not the Ibiss, or Hilton. With that being said, we had everything we needed. The rooms are clean, albeit a bit dated, and our television did not work, but we spent very little time in the room itself. We spent our time roaming the medina and enjoying the sun on the patio. The hotel is located at the entrance to the medina, so its perfect for exploring. It's also a perfect location to get a cab or be picked up by a tour guide. The staff is great to ask about recommendations for what to see and can arrange a tour for you- we compared pricing and they were always a better price than others. We were always welcomed with smiles and all of the mint tea we could want, complimentary of course. While the medina was a great place to visit, and the staff always helpful in recommending where to visit, the real treat was in the hospitality. We were truly humbled and left feeling more like friends than guests. We enjoyed the conversation, the food, and the friendship. We will be back and will always recommend a stay here. It ended up being so much more than we could have imagined! Thank you for the amazing food and the chance to get to know your family, friends and another side of Moracco. Home away from Home

We entered, and we were seated in a quiet and dark room, it seemed as if we were in an abandoned house, curtains trying to cover up the disasters that had befallen the bathroom (I was trying to cover up the deteriorating condition of that place), and we were very kindly received, yes, and we were invited to a morno room, even though we were hoping that the interior would be a little better, but nothing. We entered, and they sat down in a quiet and dark room, it seemed as if we were in an abandoned house, curtains trying to cover up the disasters that had befallen the bathroom (I was trying to avoid seeing the deteriorating condition of that place), and we were very kindly received, yes, and we were invited to a morno room, although we were hoping that the interior would be a little better, but nothing.

The worst hotel of my life.

Everything that looked like reality was fiction, the rooms and beds were bad, the spirit was ruined, the tank was not working, the bathroom was flooded with water, the bathroom window could not be opened; the terrace of our room had nothing to do with the photos. The door of the room was not closing well; the TV was not working. The first night we slept frozen, we had to collect the clothes of several beds, in our room the door of the terrace was not closing. The breakfast was much to be desired, and if you asked for something more, you would pay it as if it were an extra expense; they didn't even clean the room for the four days that it was, nor replace the toilet paper we had to ask for.

I do not recommend it, photos published no real ones.

We arrived at night and were greeted at the front desk with a cup of black tea and were directly asked in advance for half the money for the reservation.The hotel's interior is terrible, very ruinous and cut, smells bad (a cake everywhere).The terraces seen in the photos that seem so well-groomed are totally false, they are very careless.There are people all over the hotel who don't know if they live there or their guests, which I doubt very much.We were a group of people who live in 2 bathrooms; the rooms had a cat, a lock, a fat, a humidity... the rooms smelled the same and dirty and the rooms sucked; the bathroom was clean, the bathroom was clean, the bathroom was clean, the bathroom was clean, the bathroom was clean, and the bathroom was clean, which I doubt very much.We could not ask for any kind of attention, but we could not ask for any kind of attention, even if the last room was in the basement.

HOTEL TRANSILVANIA is located in Transylvania.

The good: The breakfast, the terrace and the location. The bad: Everything else. Lack of cleanliness and maintenance of the hotel in general. It has a problem with humidity, can be breathed and felt in the bedding.

It could have been worse.

We had to wait two hours before the keys were handed over because the house was under construction and thankfully they hid the misery. No wifi, it was just a detail.

to run away absolutely

If you want a cheap hotel, this one is very convenient, it's clean, the staff is nice, the little deer is cozy, it's not too ugly, it's pretty well located, the wifi works. We stayed two days and we're pleasantly surprised!
