I have stayed at BJC several times over the years and always come back. I love the sounds of the birds in the surrounding trees, the wonderful water way just out the back, and the very short walk, less than 2 minutes to the Bardia National Park entry, as well as 10 minutes from the main village centre. 

The rooms are very spacious and very reasonably priced with ceiling fans, mosquito nets, fly screens on the windows, large bathrooms with hot showers, clean sheets and towels.

The staff are humble and kind, and they use traditional cooking methods to prepare our meals. 

It is so peaceful, and the animal sounds during the night are magical and I always leave feeling relaxed. 

They also arrange airport jeep transfer and jungle safaris on foot or in a vehicle. It’s definitely worth staying here for your stay in Bardia.

Family owned and operated only 2 mins walk to National Park entrance gate.

I always love bringing my friends and family to Bardia and the jungle cottages are simple and have all that you need for a comfortable stay. Such a convenient location to the park and very good value for money. I often come with groups to support the local school and the staff take good care of us. Be sure to go for a jungle walk as that is phenomenal.

Lovely family run business

I have been staying at the cottage my room is very spacious bathroom and bedroom with comfortable bed and clean. The staff are very welcoming and the food is very good with plenty of variety. The location is a few metres walk from the park entrance very conveniently located! The hotel grounds are very tranquil and relaxing to! I would recommend the hotel highly to anyone visiting the area.

Great Accommodation in Bardia

Do not stay here! Where to start.  A friend and I decided to choose Bardia Jungle Cottage based on their write up in a guide book.  Upon arrival I selected my room, which was adequate, and then decided to explore the town and see the festival that was going on.  During my walk I encountered a guide company and after speaking with them and being impressed by their knowledge I decided to hire one of their guides to enter the park the following day.  When I returned to Bardia Jungle Cottage, I requested breakfast for the following morning before entering the park.  The owner immediately refused to make me breakfast (despite the fact that nowhere else would be open at that time) and told me that he was kicking me out of his hotel for hiring a guide from another company.  At no point was I told that this was a rule when I came to their establishment, and when I discussed the situation with the owner and staff they would not listen to a word I said and despite other guests coming to my defense, they still kicked me out the following day.  When visiting Bardia National Park you have a multitude of options when it comes to accommodation and other services, so do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

Great atmosphere and staff - so willing to help and give us advice and insight into the National Park. Could not recommend the Jungle Walk more, we saw a tiger and a rhino! Highly recommend this place, although the beds are rather uncomfortable.

Great place to explore the jungle from

Location is perfect, right across park entrance. But the atmosphere wasnt very warm. A bit pushy on getting a program and posting picture of us on Facebook without telling us. Some of the staff were great tho, very helpful and the food was fine. 
There are cheaper and better places to be found in Bardia.

Fine stay, nothing special

Had the best time here, was made to feel very welcome and the staff/service were excellent. The lodge was clean and comfortable, food was good, paired me with a really knowledgeable park guide Pardeep and we saw every animal I was there for (including 5 tigers!). Thank you I would highly recommend staying here to anyone.

Amazing 

We had a fantastic time at Bardia Jungle Cottage. We spent 6 days here and it was the most peaceful time in Nepal. The staff are so helpful. They picked us up very early from the bus stop at Ambassa on our arrival, we got a complimentary tea. Sorting out the jungle walks was very easy, the staff are knowledgable. We went twice to the jungle and enjoyed each time seeing tigers, rhinos and other animals.
The accommodation is spacious, remember it is Nepal and the electricity cuts out some times - so the only time it matters is for the fan at night! But in a location like this you just put up with it. The food was amazing - some of the best we had during our month and a half travelling in Nepal. Would highly recommend staying here, we loved it! 

Fantastic stay

You have to get there..... six or seven hours by bus from Lumbini on chaotic roads or two hours by bus from Nepalgunj airport. The direction is Franco Nepalese and Christophe, Bengal tiger specialist will give you all the explanations you want about the park of the Bardia. Here no surprise. Everything is clearly announced. The accommodations are traditional tower houses very clean. Electricity in the bedroom and bathroom constantly. Food at certain hours. Wifi free. Vibrant meals and good outdoor dining, the service is impeccable, a bar is available.

It's the only...

It was all a coincidence, that we arrived in this charming cottage. A guy in the bus advised us to do so. Of course, we had to wait for a really typical bus in the middle of the night that took us to a village and then continue on foot to the cottage (it was almost midnight and at that time there was no transportation). A man dressed as a dothi resembling Gandhi was waiting for us. No electricity came back an hour later. But the many 1/2 candles led us to discover our place of residence. Many very somber but very clean cottages immediately delighted us. The next day we discovered this really charming environment, a small garden, a beautiful jungle with great rest. And then we had a nice little opportunity to see a beautiful young house with a nice, independent restaurant with a hippopotamus guide.
