Simple but great!! in the heart of Jordan... clean, courteous, available, essential. I'm sorry that from February closing, I would have chosen it as my favorite place in Amsterdam. Now we'll have to look for a new place to stay when I go into town...

It's too bad it's closed.

We stayed there three nights during our "weekend get away" to Amsterdam. The first day the toilet in our room broke but the staff promptly changed our room with an upgrade free of charge. I would definitely recommend if you want to spend a nice holiday in a quiet and picturesque neighborhood.

Friendly and helpful staff

Excellent location, you can reach many tourist spots on foot, but the hotel is of very low quality, old, a little dirty, the shower has no door or curtain and the bathroom floods every time used.

So as not to repeat it.

We start from the negative points: the stairs are obviously too narrow, but in Amsterdam this is so. There are no fountains, shelves, hooks and shower tent in the bathroom and tiny towels. The furnishing of the room is spartan, the mirror was microscopic too. I add, however, that the structure is well positioned, reachable by tram 13 and 17 from the Central Station. The center and most of the tourist spots are easily reached on foot. Anna Frank's house is a few steps away and the neighborhood is characteristic and quiet. The staff is kind. In the room there was a boiler with tea bags, which is always useful. The cleaning was good.

Positive experience

Breakfast was excellent. It is taken at the Mr Jordaan Hotel which is also the host of the Van Onna Hotel but which is far above standing level. All staff are very caring and extremely kind. The hotel is very well placed. Do not hesitate to take a boat tour with Dave (proposed by the hotel). It is free but Dave is so passionate that he deserves a wide tip! The Van Onna Hotel is located a few steps away from this magnificent reception, but to be seen! Of course well located, it is nothing for the price paid. 115€ for a room with a stained carpet and entrance tiles as well. There is no insulation at the windows so that it is very expensive to serve. The hotel is made of glass sheets and sheets for 115€ for all the days.

It's a very nice hotel, but it's a nice place.

So I stayed at this hotel for only two nights. Very convenient hotel for the location because it is a 10-minute walk from Piazza Dam. Super quiet neighborhood where you can smoke a cigarette in peace on the benches right next to the canal. The hotel itself is a little ugly because (like all hotels in Amsterdam) it has steep mooolto stairs (you will make a lot of laughs going up those stairs with the suitcases) My room was on the top floor and it seemed to be going down but it was very clean, we had three beds.

Hotel in good location

The hotel has a good location and the staff is very friendly but it is an annex to another hotel of more category with rooms (at least those on the upper floors) that are accessed by a steep caracol staircase, uncomfortable, with a curtainless bathroom that needs to be dried after taking a shower.

Bad price-quality ratio

It was a kind of dependency on the much more beautiful Hotel Mr. Jordan, site next door. The room where I stayed is narrow, with dirty carpets and spicy windows.The room temperature was cold, even though it was July.Wifi not working in the room, only in the communal areas.

Dependence not sufficient

Very sweet bijou hotel . Top of house , the next door hotels poor cousin . Old fashioned no telly but lovely views . We were very worried about the low window with no safely bars and there was  no fire escape . The shower was unusable for my tall husband and you had to be a contortionist to use the basin . The stairs were incredibly tight . All that said it was really charming and we did love it 

Cute /odd!

We stayed in Van Onna for three nights in the room for four people. We were so positively suprised to see the room, it was clean an bright. 
The reseption was over at hotel Mr Jordaan, which was just next to Van Onna. The staff was super nice, and Mr Jordaans hanging area was cute (plus you got free coffee there!). 
 The walking distance to the railway station wasn't bad at all and you could basically walk everywhere from the hotel.
