Our stay was very disappointing. The photos on the website are very embellished, the descriptions there also: "most exclusive retreat, stylish, luxury rooms".  
We found none of this. The first room we were offered was part of a flat, very dark and very simply furnished. The room was accessed via a corridor only through the communal kitchen; the terrace we had booked was also only a communal terrace. We refused the room. 
The second room was very small, but much brighter, but just as simple: no wardrobe, no shelf, only a coat rack with four hangers. In the bathroom, only the floor could be used for storage. Although advertised on the website, there was no coffee machine. The coffee machine was supposedly in the neighbouring common room, to which unfortunately our key did not fit, despite information to the contrary.
Access to this room led past a large pile of junk.
The staff had obviously taken a vow of silence, it was hard to get a word out of them. One young man in particular was behaving completely awkwardly. 
From the kitchen came banal home cooking with frozen vegetables; overpriced even by Norwegian standards.
We should also mention that the hotel is right next to the E6 and below a large railway bridge. It is therefore not quiet. But of course we could have seen that on Google beforehand.
Conclusion: The hotel lacks competition, there are hardly any other accommodations nearby.  Never again!!

Pictures deceiving

While the cabins themselves had the potential to offer a pleasant stay, our experience was overwhelmingly negative due to the rude host. This overshadowed any positives about the place.

Furthermore, there were multiple issues with the cabin that we encountered during our stay, which greatly disappointed us. These included a leak in the bathtub, a discrepancy with the breakfast hours (he told us breakfast closes at 10:00, but it actually closed at 9:15), and a lack of essential amenities like soap and paper towels in the living room bathroom. When we attempted to communicate these problems to the host, he simply responded “I don't know and I don't care.”

Overall, our visit to this cabin was far from the enjoyable experience we had hoped for, largely due to the demeanor of the host and the numerous issues we encountered during our stay.

Rude Host

Very nice and cozy place lighted-up by the Jon The Owner personality and good humor. Thanks to Venle for arranging efficiently and at a very short notice everything connected to our stay and my fishing. Meals can be improved some though.

Nice place I would be lookin to come back to

The place is beautiful, on the banks of the river. Clean and tidy houses. Free parking. Convenient to reach, directly on the road. The afternoon/evening staff are kind and available. It's a shame then to come across breakfast in the morning, which is still great and abundant. We took away a trampoline, to enjoy the pain of the riverfront room in the morning. At the time of the check-out we were charged. We certainly don't rip our hair off for paying a trampoline, but the manager missed an opportunity to get a 5-star review.

One night

Any other accommodation in Grong is preferable! You live in the middle of nature by a magnificent river. Very loving and high-quality facilities, much better and more comfortable than the pictures here suggest. Breakfast is also very good and in a family-friendly atmosphere. Absolutely recommended. Unfortunately we were here only one night on the trip to the north. But also perfect and very relaxing! We have also stayed in other accommodations in Grong (always on the trip), but this one here is by far the most beautiful and inexpensive.

Lovely and well taken care of!

This hotel is build up with smaller cabins, not ordinary hotelrooms.  This makes it more personal and nice.  We slept very well in very nice beds with a view to the river.  This place is located close to E6, but it was quite and nice.

I can also recommend the restaurant.  Not a large menu, but very tasteful and local dishes together with local beer. 

Also nice service to have charging stations to my electric car.

Very nice place to stay on your trip on your route in Norway.

Located just next to the stream, apparently famouse for people who fish.
Very nice room, high quality. A lot of decoration, with pictures and animals.

They made me a real dinner , even though I arrived pretty late.

If you are with friends, this would be a super place to hang out.



Very special place

We stayed for one night in a clean cabin with four single beds over two levels. The bathroom was huge and all the fittings looked new. 

The cabin had WiFi although sometimes static, a television and a desk. Although not important to some people we loved the dressing gowns that were supplied. 

Namsentunet advertises hot tubs and saunas but we couldn’t locate any on the property that were in use which was disappointing. 

The location is great and the setting beautiful as it’s on the river and a magnificent spot to catch a trout. 

The breakfast was awesome and one of the best we’ve had in Norway which could be because they had a toaster! We’ve missed having toast. There was a beautiful muesli, yoghurts, fruits, cheeses, meats, hard boiled eggs, coffee and tea all beautifully presented in a light and airy room. 

I think Namsentunet is a brilliant location for a group or for fishermen/hunters staying for a few days. We felt it was very expensive when comparing it to other places we’ve stayed in Norway. 


Great setting. 

We arrived at Namenstunet at a cold winter evening and were warmly welcomed by the hosts. During the whole stay, they were very helpful and kind. The cabins were cozy and spacious. The dinner and breakfast prepared by the hosts was delicious. We highly recommend this place.

Just staying in this amazing fishing and hunting retreat. Brilliant riverside cabins, clean white linen, great food ... fabulous 
Just two hours north of Trondheim on the E6... near to the town of Grong
