Very unfriendly owner! We were not allowed to get the room a little earlier and we have a one year old baby with us! The owner even started to argue with us and was very unpolite! The room itself was dirty so we needed to change rooms. Additionally no wifi in the rooms and the rooms were absolutely uncharming and ugly. There are much better (and cheaper) places closer to the fjord just a couple kilometers down the road. 

Avoid this place!

Stayed here for three nights and loved every minute of it. Booked directly from the hotels website. 
This place is in the middle of some of the most beautiful nature Norway has to offer. A couple of kms one way, and you are by the Sognefjord. The same distance the other way and you are half way up to the Sognefjell plateau. The bus from Sogndal to Lom stops right outside, so you don't need a car to go there. Vassbakken is situated in a serene spot surrounded by mountains. Plenty of trekking options right outside the door.
From the porch outside the cabin, I could see four waterfalls. The nearest is 200 ms away. The cabin, we had one of the bigger ones, had everything we needed. It could easily sleep five people. Fully stocked kitchen if you want to eat in. The restaurant offers good traditional norwegian food for dinner. We ate dinner there every night. There is a couple of kms to the nearest grocery store, so you might want to stock up before you arrive.
The staff was wonderful and gave us some valuable information.
This place comes highly recommended if you are into trekking, but also if you just want to relax with clean air and spectacular views.

Nice cabins and spectacular surroundings

This little place is very beautiful. For example, you can see a beautiful waterfall. The restaurant has very tasty food such as salmon with vegetables, lamb with a tasty sauce, pork slices with potatoes, etc...

Good restaurant.

We gotten cabin #2 and it was very charming, the cabin size was bigger than what you can get in Geiranger. You can see the Åsafossen waterfall directly from the window! The surrounding is so serene and beautiful. The price of a double bed room with ensuite bathroom is not much different from getting a self sufficient cabin (only NOK 90 extra). The only downside we dislike was that the wifi connection only available 50 meters of the reception area. We got to go to the reception to check road closure information on fv55.  

We adored the cabins, simply serene. 

The campsite is in a fantastic setting, with an amazing waterfall just beyond it, and the structures are very nice. Our hytte/cabin was lovely and well made, the whole place has such a grea potential - I just wish it was cleaner and a bit better organised, starting from the surface of the ground around the hytter: it was poorly maintained and, as it was raining, it was full of large puddles, which is quite annoying when you have to park your car and bring everything inside. Unfortunately our hytte was very dirty, full of spiderwebs (not the accidental ones, it was the amount of spiderwebs you only get in months without a proper cleaning), spiders, dead insects, dust and an incredible amoung of hairs everywhere. The small kitchen and kitchenwares were just as dirty. I understand people are supposed to leave everything clean, and they don't always do it, but it would be great if someone would check before letting other people in. The common toilets was even dirtier, in two days I only found it cleaned once, which is unacceptable for such a big campsite. This was the worst campsite we found in Norway (and we've seen quite a lot driving 9000km throughout Scandinavia), and one of the most expensive as well. I cannot recommend it.

Dirty and overpriced

Nice team, clean room, very cozy atmosphere. Breakfast was also good. We stayed at this place as a support point in the middle of our car trip, and it served us very well. Besides, it's always good to sleep with the noise of the puppy:)

Excellent cost-effectiveness.

We were in a cabin with a private bathroom and a terrace to sit outside.The interior of the cabin was very well maintained and equipped.The receptionist was friendly.

Fantastically beautiful.

The bed was very comfortable. The laundry was available in the campsite, but you need to have your own detergent. There is also a restaurant where traditional hot and cold dishes are served.

My boyfriend and I booked a room in this campsite. The room was clean and essential. There are wooden cabins that we didn't have the chance to book that maybe they were more furnished and characteristic. The dining room and breakfast room had a warm and cozy atmosphere, really nice. The breakfast was plentiful and the only dinner we made was simple but tasty, with meat and fish. The place is immersed in nature in a perfect position halfway between the fjord, the mountains and the natural parks.

Fuck is good!

We stayed for 3 nights. We couldn't get closer to the glacier, but this location is convenient in every way. We lived in a house with a toilet and shower. My son enjoyed the sweet mixing of the children's room. There is a children's playground in the area, though not very interesting. The house has very dim lighting, but it's more like the norm for Norway - we bought more powerful lamps.
