During the transfer between Akta and Tromso we stopped for lunch in this wonderful place. The beautiful day allowed us to enjoy the truly incredible view. The place is very characteristic. Good food especially sweets.

The incredible view

This was the third time we stayed in the Guildtun. This time the fog covered the great view. This time we had a large, simple room downstairs. It was top notch, as always. The food at the restaurant was very good. The breakfast provided everything you need.

Very good mountain hotel

Great view of a huge fjord complex...simple rooms in good condition. Food lacking: breakfast poor, few fresh items, jams and cheese ok, juices bad...Dinner: 3 minutes after order...all clear?

Good for a night's sleep

Stayed one night on a trip to the Northern Cape. Very spartan but warm rooms. spectacular location on a panoramic high ground above a large and free parking lot infested with reindeer restaurant very valuable, with plentiful dishes and honest breakfast prices fully satisfactory quality price ratio extremely valuable.

Small hotel with spectacular views over the fjord and very valuable included restaurant

After four years we stayed at the Gildetun again. The simple hotel with the small, Spartan-style rooms has lost none of its charm. Again the room was very clean and the dessert was simply very fine. We will stop at the Gildetun again.

The view is fantastic.

One night we stayed at this hotel. The location is just beautiful with the great view of the fjord. The room was simple but very clean and we got a good breakfast served. We would immediately stay at this great place again.

Wonderful location

Hotel with simple, clean rooms. The view is sensational. Dinner was served salmon. It's just great. The restaurant had an early evening. But we could easily buy drinks at the hotel reception. We would immediately stay back in this hotel.

Wonderful view

It's a little wooden cottage, very nicely decorated in the middle of nowhere. Tapestries and animals packed into the wall. Very good baked salmon meal, vegetables lacking a little spice. A terrace with a beautiful view.

On the Road to the North Cape

The hotel itself is very basic, nothing special in the restaurant or anywhere else. Room is actually very basic, no fridge or tv. View is very nice and there is very good surroundings for easy or more challenging walks.

Nice view

The location is magnificent with views of the fjord and the islands. The hotel is more like a hostel I think. Very simple standard but good food (the salmon for dinner was delicious.) My room was simple but perfectly okay. Thought it smelled a bit of mold in the corridor outside but it didn't do me any harm.
