When we arrived in Lima there was no one waiting for us even though our reservation was made in advance, we called and were told that we should wait because it was bringing other passengers to the airport. The driver did not have a sign to identify us and told us to go out and get it. The next day we had another hospitality service at the airport and they put us in an old transport that gave the impression that it was falling to pieces, small, the seats with visible wires, totally dirty, it was a move that usually carries chickens.

Accommodation is recommended, transportation is not required.

The hostel fixed me up and gave me a place to rest, accommodate me at 6 AM and return to the airport at 6 PM, something to rescue me, I look for a taxi and I'll be picked up from the same establishment.

Comfortable and practical.

(Hotel) for adventurers, a short night between two planes. Despite a very friendly reception and more than reasonable prices, a decaying hotel, a dim view. Litter, emergency plumbing, a very noisy hotel.

For a single night

We spent the night a day connecting, the truth that very well the price and the comfortable place. Private room, TV, and bathroom, plus transportation, for very little money. The excellent care. Very close to the airport for transfer. Recommended.

Good value for money, excellent attention.

Hey, don't go to this place expecting a high-end boutique hotel!  I paid $24 for a private room with a small bathroom with "breakfast" included. My expectations weren't high. I've lived in China, Thailand, and now live in Arequipa. We've travelled a lot and stayed in many different types of places. I was heading back to Arequipa and just needed a place by the airport to sleep over until my flight the next day. That's the only reason you would stay here.

The room was tiny but spotless. The bed was a little hard but I slept like a rock. Pillows are never great in these places and this was no exception. I didn't lose any sleep over it. (is that a pun?) The shower was strong and hot. The wifi was not great but it worked well enough to Skype and do basic stuff. Wifi pretty much sucks everywhere I've lived and travelled in Peru!  Breakfast consisted of a fried egg with copious amounts of fresh buns. Coffee was instant as it usually is in these kinds of places.

Taxi from airport was 40 soles (about $12) with Taxi365, which you run into before you even exit into the arrivals area. Taxi back the next day from hostal was 20 soles. No problem with either one except it was a little difficult to find the hostal at 10:30pm. The driver finally just phoned the place to get them to come out so we could see which door it was.

I thought it was fine for $24 and only 5 minutes from the airport. It's strictly an overnight location. If you want something better and want to check out Lima, head to the city.

It is economical and limited in the services it offers, it has internet. The price is good. The room had no television. The building has no elevator. The area is not very nice, but it is for staying overnight.

To spend the night when you're connected at the airport.

I stayed in this hostel one night, as my flight left very early the next day. Likewise, the great advantage of the hostel las Fresas is that it is relatively close to the airport. The bad thing is: to say the driver of the taxi that took us, the Callao area is dangerous. We went in the afternoon to buy some food and the streets were a bit lonely but we seemed too dangerous. The room had a wedding bed, private bathroom and cable TV, as well as internet with good signal. The staff of the hostel treated us very well and guided us quite well, providing us with a taxi that passed by us very early to take us to the airport.

Well, to spend the night.

The hostel is very close to the airport of Lima, and they passed me at the bus terminal at night, took me to the hostel and in the morning to the airport, all for $100 soles, which I thought was a good price.

My Las Fresas experience started with an awful "official" taxi driver outside of the airport picking me up and going on about how dangerous this hostal is and that he can take me to a better one: The Principle. I kept saying "no gracias," but the driver just kept going on and on about The Principle and how dangerous it would be to stay at Las Fresas. The driver even went so far as to actually drive to The Principle against my wishes where again I had to firmly say "Please take me to Las Fresas." 

If you're thinking that's a one-time fluke, other previous reviews show this has been going on for years. Also, a second time I had to make a cab ride from the airport, again I was being pitched another hotel by a cab driver after telling him I already have a reservation elsewhere. This is not normal and the Lima airport should put a stop to this, but it apparently does nothing. 

About Las Fresas itself, the people who run it seem like genuinely kind and good-willed people. While the Callao neighborhood itself is not somewhere you may want to be in the middle of the night alone, once I was at the hostel itself, I never felt unsafe. Given the other limited options of secure accommodations near the airport, this is a good choice if you have a layover and you just need to spend a night somewhere. My room was clean. It had a really good cable or satelite system that had a lot of premium channels (and on some channels, you could adjust the audio from spanish into english). My room had its own bathroom. The hot water was never really hot, but adequately warm. The wifi was free and worked great. The downside is that this hostel is more for practical purposes only, as there are not many touristy activities around. There are several pharmacies within walking distance as well as a market and lots of little corner stores. 

Overall, very glad I chose this hostel over the one I was about to get scammed into. I think Las Fresas should get in contact with the airport management so that this practice from the taxi drivers can be punished.

We started from the airport transfer service....we arrived with half an hour delay so at the exit there was no guy to wait for us...we had to call so he could pick us up. At his word, he waited for us a long time but then came back. Since he had to pick us up again, he says he had to pay twice the airport parking fee, when instead I saw that he had parked in the free zone for short durations. Well...we agreed to pay something extra. I asked the driver to take money before going to the hotel...he accepts, but he wants me to pay 10 soles for the service... he stopped 2 minutes by road in the direction of the hotel.
