Bad experience. 
We are paying guests. And wanted to swim. "Kamag-anak" day trip guests were so rude to my 6yo son and does not want him to use "their" small pool. My child wanted to use the small pool because its the pool that he can reach. But these kids are just so rude and keeps on splashing on us. Add to that that I am holding my 1year old daughter who got splashed straight in the face because this rude kid cannon balled in front of us. I tried to ignored them for 1 hour thinking that they are just kids playing. But I had enough when my daughter got splashed in the face and coughed water! 

We checked-in this hotel because we wanted to swim. Sadly its not a good swimming experience.

Bad bad experience with the pool

This was one of the worst hotel experiences I have had in decades of traveling.  Why?
1. Kids shouting in the pool well after 11 pm, despite rules that say quiet hours begin 11, and I asked the father to keep them quiet
2. At 7:45 am a very loud chain saw began ceaselessly u til we left at 11 am
3. No hot water in the morning
4. No curtains on the two windows at head of bed
5. Floor was dirty w hair balls n more
6. Breakfast was minimal
7. Price was twice that of the much better Casa Marina
I would have preferred to stay in Manilas worst district

Noisy, expensive, no curtains, no hot water

Beautiful setting, beautiful pool, friendly staff. Overall, our stay was good But many things weren’t good. The room was very small and mostly clean but some things like the back of the bathroom door looked like it had never been cleaned. The toilet didn’t flush, the shower drained very slowly and overfilled, the Wi fi didn’t work and the TV reception was bad. The bed was fine but the bed sheet only came up to our belly button. When you pulled it up more it came out at the bottom. Had to sleep with my feet out the bottom and the sheet to my chest. 
The room had 2 nice white towels. When we asked for pool towels we were told that they only had room towels and we would have to pay extra for towels to use at the pool. 
When we checked in and asked about our scheduled trip to the falls we were told that the falls were Still closed and and wouldn’t open for a while. No one mentioned that part when we booked our reservation. Long beautiful drive from Manila to see the falls but only saw the hotel.

Ok Hotel, Falls Closed

Was so surprised by the amenities, professionalism and very accommodating crew at this place. This is the perfect place to stay if you want to go visit Pagsanjan Falls and ride the boats. It is very clean and and very well-maintained facility. The crews are so friendly. The owner of this place must be thankful of their awesome crews here. We came to a late minute booking and the place impressed me. It carefully incorporates the beauty of nature in its design without it being overwhelming.. not to mention the awesome boating trips. Breakfast is so delicious. Don’t skip the tocino! Good job on clean linens,  towels and free toiletries supplies. I will definitely come back here and will recommend to all my friends visiting from overseas. 

Carefully designed with attention to details

We stayed at Casa del Rio for one night for a trip to Pagsanjan falls.  The rooms are very basic but clean and a comfortable bed.  The pool was excellent for night swimming and there was no closing time!  The staff was also amazing and served us San Miguel beer all night...so we didn’t have to haul our own cooler inside the facility and roam around town to buy drinks!!  We really enjoyed the grounds, pool is very nice & the view of the river from the bar.  The staff also expertly arranged our trip to the falls the next day and allowed for a late check out until we returned from the boat trip!  I’d highly recommend this hotel and we’ll be back soon!

Excellent stay & great service!

Pros - Near boat ride to Pagsanjan Falls / pretty near to town where you can find some food (about 10-15mins walk) / Room is considerably clean if you are not too fussy / Old but working aircon / They were kind to provide extra pillows since the resort is not full.

Cons - Small Room for the price paid (I've been travelling alot to different countries in Asia and I'm very sure the quality will be 200% better for the same price) / Pool water is not clean and looks a little murky so I didnt swim as much as I wanted to / Breakfast in the Garden is a simple set and my coffee is those 3-in-1 instant coffee and water not hot enough. 

Extra Tips: Dont trust the Tricycle Rider just outside the Resort - They try to charge double the price for the same destination and asked for extra money after going with them for Falls Tour. Told us 3 Falls location but in the end it's only 1 location and 3 levels of Falls with the lowest one being a Pool)

Not worth the price paid

Spacious room and very hospital owner. We were invited for a family party in the garden. 
Nice, quite and beautiful garden. We had a wonderful night swim in the rain. The staff was helpfull and booked the fall trip for us. 

Hospitality

My brother and I came to Pagsanjan for our mother's funeral.  Since we were driving from Manila, we called to say that we would be arriving late.  Whoever answered the phone didn't speak much English, so I hoped he understood the message.

Apparently he did, because he was there when we arrived.  Initially it was difficult to even find the place.  They have a sign on the main road, with a small parking lot.  You would have to go down some steps, but we ended up going down R Lava road to find the Casa Del Rio compound.

There was not much lighting down the pathway, but he lead us to a room that was about the size of a dorm room with two twin beds and a bathroom.  On the bed were the amenities, including toilet paper.  We couldn't figure out the air conditioner at first so the first night was HOT!  But it was clean, smelled nice and the beds were very very comfortable.

The next morning we were able to explore the resort a little bit.  There was a dining area in front of our room; a nice pool and a gorgeous view of the Pagsanjan River.  The grounds were kept nicely and the staff was friendly, albeit quiet.

Breakfast was included and was good! 

We were in an older building, so I'm sure the two-story new building by the pool was much nicer.  

WiFi is not available in the rooms, but it is by the pool area.

We enjoyed our stay here and would definitely stay again.  The rates were very good.
