We are already waiting for the promised repayment in December 2020. After we were initially sent emails, we are now referring from reception to accounting. But it is no longer possible to reach it. In these uncertain times of COVID-19, you cannot rely on the Tatra House!!!

Unreliable and Fraudulent

What was this? The rooms were bad, the staff was "whatever.". The rooms were small, WHERE ARE THE CHAIRS? What, did they break in the delivery van? This was not really great, and let's be honest - what were you thinking? You got awards - cool, but that doesn't make you good either way. The food was nice, but you were AWFULLY AWAY FROM THE CITY CENTER. This didn't make me feel great, and my legs were TIRED once I was in my room. 

3/10 don't recommend.

It's bad.

I have been to Zakopane the last 2 years and both times I have stayed at the Tatra House, and for good reason. Located just a few minutes out of the centre of town, this place offers great value for money, a true traditional Zakopane feel and a great location offering fantastic views of the 'sleeping warrior'. The food that is served in the kitchen there is cheap in price but amazing in quality, I was not able to finish my 3 courses each time because of the generous servings there!!!!! The rooms are large and the beds I found very comfortable, and the whole place is very clean tidy and homely. The staff are amazing, Halina on reception is amazing and Lucia who is the host is so friendly you can't help but smile each time you interact with them. There a bikes you can borrow, hiking equipment you can use, this place delivers in every aspect so if you are looking for an amazing experience in the mountains I would 100% choose this place first. Thank you Tatra House!!!!!

The Best Place to Stay in Zakopane

It´s a small nice hotel, with an amazing breakfast, very helpful personal, and nice rooms. Not expensive. You have the opportunity to park your car. 
The location is also not bad, you can use the transport buses. They arrive every 15 minutes.

VERY NICE!

We just came back from a lovely holiday in Zakopane, where we spent one week. First I would like to say how nice and caring Miss Basia, the receptionist, is. Our son loved her! Atmosphere in the hotel is very homely and warm. We took our English friend for her first visit to Poland. She said that was her best holiday and she will definitely go back again. 

I read comments here regarding lack of tea and coffee in rooms and that these are too small. 

I have to say you cannot expect big rooms or tea and coffee in the rooms for the price that they charge! 

Rooms, bathrooms, restaurant and the entire hotel were very clean. Any requests were never a big chore. The food is to die for.

The activities arranged by the hotel included in the price are excellent and represent excellent value for money. Some of the activities are snowmobile ride or quad biking and outdoor BBQ with folklore music and entertainment (everyday there is a different activity).

We felt like we were at home all the time and made some very good friends.

Hotel has great facilities for children and at night they show a film on the big projector.

Location wise, it's also excellent, for both skiing and getting into the centre of Zakopane (Krupowki). The hotel provides a bus service to the slopes every day and there is a bus stop not too far away (2 minutes walk) if you want to go to Krupowki.

Drinks are extremely reasonable and if you fancy a snack, there is a shop less than a minute walk or the night porter, who is also extremely nice, is more than happy to provide you with details for takeaways (at midnight after one too many).

Hotel is very safe and ample car parking.

There are 3 floors and no lift. This posed no problem at all as the steps aren't steep.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time so much, that we have already booked to go back.

We loved every minute of our stay

Stayed with family and group of friends, staff very helpful, comfortable hotel with food included, breakfast of hams and cheeses, evening meal soups, main course and desert, good basic authentic Polish cooking. Just a suggestion for the hotel owners, think it would be good to provide tea and coffee making facilities in the room.

Great service

We wanted to come back to Zakopane with our children, having visited many times when we were younger. The town has gone downhill a long way, which was very disappointing, but the mountains are still as beautiful and this Pension / guest house is a great base for visiting them. 

Right from the start, the reception team has been accommodating, friendly and welcoming. 

It is lovely inside. Very nicely renovated with blonde wood everywhere, and wooden everything! The lamp shades especially are carved with beautiful patterns. There is always a very warm welcome. There's a small bar serving everything you need, with comfy sofas and a log fire when it's cold. 

The rooms are nicely laid out, especially ours which is a family room, with a wall between the kids beds and ours meaning we're close but not too. The en-suite bathroom is new, clean and nicely decorated. In fact, the whole room is nicely decorated, with lights hidden behind carved wooden planks decorating the high walls, a table and stools and lots of framed prints of the mountains. 

My youngest was really taken with the deep red velvet curtains and throws, and all are decorated with the house's pattern. 

Essentially, this is a delightful guest house to stay in :-)

What makes it really special, however, is the food. It's amazing. Really, really good Polish food cooked very well and served with such friendliness. My eldest is mostly vegetarian and the cook was extremely accommodating to a last minute change and offered different choices until she got the biggest beaming smile. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming, but she really stands out. 

Dinners are far superior to those available in the town and the breakfasts will keep you going until dinner time comes back round. I recommend you book dinner here rather than eat out, and at c. 20 zloty each for three amazing courses it is extraordinary good value too. You will need to go for some properly long walks in the meantime to burn it all off... Not a problem in Zakopane, fortunately. 

The only thing that might count either for or against this pension is that it's about 25 minutes walk from the town. Personally, I prefer to book a cab to a good place to start walking, and count the cost of the taxi (25 zloty to town, 40 to Kuznice, ymmv) as part of the accommodation.  One visit to town was enough. One visit here isn't. 

A bit far out of town, but so very worth it

Tatra House, small hotel, with rooms in order. We stayed for 1 week in August. Breakfast is abundant for all tastes. Small space for children inside and playground outside. Nice scenery. The hotel is close to the centre of Zakopane.
