The perfect balance between luxury and austerity, between modernity and tradition, between design and nature. The oil of the house is magnificent. The memorable breakfasts. It's a guaranteed cure for stress. The moments spent in a quinta do carvalho will help me survive the winter.

Perfect rest.

Between olive groves and vineyards, the scenery is breathtaking. The Douro (two km away) is not visible from the estate but it matters. Everything here is just refinement (the decoration, the choice of laundry...) Pedro and his family have been taking little care of us. The nearest restaurant which is 7 km away being closed, Pedro offered us to shop when we arrived, the fruits and vegetables come from the garden (a snack). And what about the breakfasts that are to fall and different every day. We will definitely be back.

Exceptional Softness of Life

Everything's perfect, very nice view, perfect place to relax and relax, perfect house, perfect cleanliness too, huge, very good lunch, everything's fresh, very kind and helpful guests we love.

It's perfect.

We stayed here as a newly married couple for 2 days just after our wedding in July 2017 and this place was fantastic! It's definitely out of the way (which was what we wanted!) but Pedro came to meet us from the motorway so we didn't get lost. 

When we arrived we were both blown away by beauty of the place. There are two spacious villas completed to a high spec, which both have their own outside space overlooking beautiful views of the mountains and a shared infinity pool. When we stayed however, no-one was in the other villa so we had the place and the pool to ourselves! 

Pedro had put some lovely touches out for us as we were on honeymoon, from rose petals on the bed to champagne and strawberries - we were spoilt! The breakfast was amazing with a great selection of pastries, fruit, breads, handmade jams and fresh orange. Pedro was absolutely fantastic - checked in with us regularly to see if there was anything we needed, whilst giving us plenty of space to enjoy our break. The pool was lovely - a robot cleaned it every morning while we were having our breakfast so it was really clean, and got the sun all day so lovely and warm (although the poolside loungers have parasols to create shade for anyone who doesn't want too much sun).

The only thing I would say after travelling to the villas is that the roads to get there are hair-raising in the dark! But don't let you put this off what is an absolutely amazing place to stay (take the offer to follow Pedro!) as it is well worth the trip. We would highly recommend this place to anyone. The facilities, food and hosts are all absolutely excellent and we would love to return at some point in the future,

Amazing!

Simply a SOGNO! Beautiful house with impeccable design, modern but built with antique materials! Welcome to luxury resorts, towels, locker rooms and slippers, bathroom sets made with grapes de Douro. Wine bottles in homage to the Quinta where you sleep. A thousand corners to relax between couches, drawers, shelves and candles. The pool and sphere a real dream with views of the breathtaking valley.

A hidden gem in the Douro Valley

A charming place, a tastefully decorated rural villa, an exquisite reception, great attention to detail and, sweetly at the bottom, a small pool projected onto the valley. It is the most beautiful accommodation of this itinerant holiday in Portugal. It is not very easy to reach but it is really worth it because the Douro valley with its terraced hills where the vineyards of the port and other important wines are born, is a wonderful place, unique in the world.

Not to be missed

Where to start??? The warm welcome from the simple and kind owners. The place: it is magical, two superb ultra modern villas, nothing is missing, 2 km from the Douro, the terrace dominates a magnificent landscape, we are in the middle of vineyards and olive trees. Attention we are far away from everything, not Resto within 6/7 km but you can cook and better you can get yourself delivered. It is a must the owners take care of. Breakfast is royal, jams are houses. If you are used to the 5 stars, you will not be disappointed. At any rate we will return because we are fine here.
