The House of Justice is a unique place, full of magic, only believable if experienced, surrounded by lush gardens, watered by springs of clear water, in a serene and quiet environment. The gentle and warm welcome of the hostess Mrs. Da Ana, and her artistic floral arrangements and decorative details, the magnificent swimming pool, the romantic and tasty breakfast, not far from a tank with a couple of black June squirrels and their young, make this place very special. We also had the privilege of being accompanied by the descendant and owner of the House, we got to know all the history of its name, its spaces and the transformations made over the centuries and admire all the wonderful achievements of the preserved, but we were promised to return to it in a beautiful and beautiful way, and we were pleased to share in all the wonderful, beautiful and beautiful magic of modern times.

It is pure magic!

In the midst of a beautiful landscape, this country house is a real idyllic pearl. Resting in the garden, by the pool, by the warm open fireplace, we felt very comfortable. The authentic, regional cuisine was very pleasing and friendly. The cooking class we attended was well prepared and fun. Particularly to mention is the hospitality that prevails in Casa De Juste. We come back.

Relax in a beautiful setting with family top dining

Excellent in all respects! Extraordinarily friendly and attentive owners who made us feel at home. A very nice and pleasant house, very well decorated, conveying great comfort to guests. A small, high-quality, very varied, product-based lunch, mostly homemade and very tasty. To sum up, a stay to repeat, we hope that for a very short time, probably after summer, to make contact with nature in a different period. We were very grateful for all the attention of the hosts, without ever interfering with our privacy.

The ideal home for those who want to rest and enjoy excellent quality and great comfort.

The owner, who lives there with his family, took us to visit this magnificent Quinta, which dates from the 16th century and has been very well restored. Very beautiful lounges, decorated with taste and care, beautiful gardens and beautiful vineyards producing the traditional Vinho Verde.

A beautiful historic home

We just completed a delightful cooking school experience with Ana...and grand tour of the Juste estate with Fernando. Their hospitality was genuine and they made us feel right at home in their kitchen. 
We highly recommend this experience to anyone who loves and appreciates preparing traditional meals in the Douro Valley...and the pleasure of enjoying a meal and more importantly conversation with Ana and Fernando.

A real gem!

We stayed here for a few nights recently, and whilst the house and grounds are beautiful, we were made to feel as if we were intruding, the whole time.

Upon arrival, we went around the wrong side of the house (no signage at all), and ended up walking into their private space. The owner was annoyed, but as there were no staff or signs, we had no clue where to go. Not the best start.

Once at reception, the owner showed us to our room. Very pleasant - a little old and worn, but to be expected when one stays in an old place like this. She failed to explain the honesty bar, for drinks - it was only 2 days later, that I asked one of the staff if it was possible to buy a beer, that they looked shocked and explained it to me. As we were 2 of only 4 guests, I expected better service. But, they were too busy putting themselves first.

The pool area and grounds are lovely, but as the owner’s children and grandchildren were there, it was like a zoo, with children screaming and fighting and splashing. Not quite the relaxing haven they advertised. I expect this at a family resort, but not somewhere like this. Especially as none of the guests had children.

The food is fantastic – much of the produce is from the farm itself (wine, fruit, vegetables, eggs, etc).  It was a shame that they only let us eat there, on one night out of four. The rest of the time, the owner just shrugged and said it was not possible.  

A shame really, as the place is great. If they put paying customers ahead of their own family, it could be wonderful. As it was, we were made to feel like we were inconveniencing them.

I won’t go back.

Beautiful home...for their family, not paying guests

Our very first trip to Portugal as a family took us to Casa de Juste. A beautiful situated property close to the town of Lousada, which to be honest was not very exciting and possibly only worth a quick trip to take in Aldi's. There is another 'supermarket' there to stick to Aldi's.There are other "supermarkets" closer but they are much smaller, more you corner shop. The 'Villa' was what i would class as 'Rustic Grandeur', as already pointed out by previous reviews, this villa reflects Portugal living and not you ultra modern villas. Everything you need is available and you only have to ask if you can't find it. 

Ana & Fernando went out of their way to be helpful. My only cripe is that we did not ask them enough about what to see in the area. we had a wasted trip to Braga but had a lovely visit to Guimaraes which has lots of character with loads to see and do.

Casa de Juste sits right in the right location for visiting the north of Portugal, a car is essential for this as stated in the info given about the villa.

As very peaceful place, caught up on loads of sleep.

Week in Casa de Juste Villa

We wanted to get a feel of historic Portugal rather than staying in a standard modern hotel and Casa de Juste proved to be perfect! Anna and Fernando the hosts made us so welcome. Their hospitality was wonderful. Fernando waited up for us to arrive until gone 1 in the morning as our flight was delayed, with perfect good humour. Breakfast in their lovely courtyard was a delight, (freshly made waffles and the vineyards own fruit juices were wonderful!) To cap it all we managed to leave a wallet there which they kindly sent back to the UK for us. Perfect hosts!

It's an ideal place to unplug and enjoy the environment.Perfect!The rooms are a monad, the bed is huge!!The food is rich!!The best of all: the love with which you are treated and care for every detail.

I was at the Casa de Juste last September, and I saw myself transported to a noble quintessential atmosphere mixed with the best of modern comfort and charm. It is a super cozy place, with an excellent kitchen whose most ingredients are grown in the hostel itself; a pool area surrounded by sycamores and orchards that invites to a timeless relaxation; impeccable rooms, with very comfortable beds, whose balconies are covered with heritage; and with its own historical and cultural setting.
