When I booked the accommodation I didn't expect to arrive so early (about 2 p.m.)... so throughout the morning I tried to call several times... always unsuccessfully; in fact, to make the reservation it had taken 3 or 4 attempts. When finally someone answered me, I was practically entering the Citadel... and only then I was informed that there was no one in the accommodation; My mother is going to testify now, the half hour is here ... but I tried to call for almost an hour!

Very positive: - The beauty and quality of the place - The cleanliness of the house - The pool Positive: - The professionalism and the sympathy of the staff - The tranquility and tranquility Less positive: - The value of the small lunches - Internet in the house is an illusion, simply impossible to connect despite being part of the advertising of the place.

Place of peace

We stayed in one of the most basic accommodations in the Rural Rupestre Citadel and yet of high quality, cleanliness and comfort! The way the village is arranged and the houses are being restored is impeccable. The silence and the light of the stars in the mild heat of the night are inexplicable. The Parque dos Sobreiros is a spectacular place to spend the warm evenings with family, until the dinner that can be prepared right next door, with everything that is needed to make a steak or barbecue. It is important to bring groceries, as there are no supermarkets or restaurants, but there is something improvised from the village cheese to deceive the hunger of late check-in. (To make the stay even more unique, it would be wonderful to have a host family in a few more family Reservation, and to have a family that is still happy and to be able to make a visit to the area, and I hope that we will always find out the history and phenomenon of this area, Mr. and Mrs. Fowher!

Loved it! Big clean air conditioned room in an ancient stone built village on the middle of nowhere! 
There’s a pool and bbq to cook on (no shops or restaurants which I didn’t know) but if you ask for mila who also speaks English she’ll cook you an amazing supper all from her own farm.

Luxury in the middle of nowhere

It's a super quiet night here, no doubt, whoever's looking for rest and peace is unique, very attentive attendance, no restaurants nearby, but if you need something to eat, always get something.

Calmness

This magic comes from contact with nature in its purest state, beyond walking hand in hand with history (there are very few visible and palpable testimonies of those who lived there thousands of years ago). On that site, the restraining silence is deafening and the calmness, the calmness of any stress, is present there in an absolute way. In one word: There is no communion of all that nature can offer.

I'm going to get it!

After we finished the N 222 we looked for a place to sleep. We chose blindly, when we arrived we were very surprised. A fantastic typical village. Everything very careful, very clean and friendly staff. Excellent. It was so good that we ended up staying one more night. There is no restaurant, the first night we went to eat in Pinhel, about 16 kilometers away but it's okay because the landscape is the best. The second we bought snacks at the supermarket and we ate by the pool in the lounge area. It has everything you need.

Excellent compulsory stay.

This Village, Cidadelhe, is the most beautiful village of Portugal by far.
It is very old and the houses are all made of rock, totally preserved, that is very rare.
Go then before it ends, because progress always destroy the ancient history.

Cidadelhe and Faia Brava Reverve

The attention of Claudio, de Joaquim, was brilliant, a place to rest immersed in a sea of stone and silence, where there is no clock, only to return, and if you are eager for adventure, the Côa River awaits you.
