This is the best place to stay when visiting San Miguel. My room was home away from home; the bed was amazingly comfortable, the room is quiet, the kitchen well equipped, WiFi strong, parking easy and there were many other special touches. Paula, the owner could not have been more helpful showing me around her beautiful garden (with a hot tub) and offering tips. Excellently positioned to move around the island.

Wonderful welcoming and comfortable stay

We were almost a week in your place we enjoyed very much from   the quite and the  amazing & beautiful garden and from the  facility swimming pool and jacuzi and also the ability to go to the  mains roads , we are grateful and very satisfied,:) :)

Casa do populo is everything and more than anyone can expect in a trip to a paradisiac place like São Miguel. The place offers a cozy stay inside a beautiful park and the owner and staff are very nice. A must stay in são miguel. Thank you for the hospitality

The best place I could stay in sao miguel

A great stay and no doubt exceptional for a vacation!! It will be necessary to improve some aspects but in general it is very good!! Lareira, a great way in the middle of the forest to stroll in the late afternoon, very attentive service! Parking inside the farm!

Great stay here.

We stayed in apartment 2 which was lovely. Really nice living room with a fire and comfortable sofas. Big open space so you don't feel caged in on rainy days. The grounds are huge so you can potter around and see the vineyard or other fruit. There is a communal room with an honesty bar and table tennis. There is a maid who cleans up every day and provides more wood for the fire. The kitchen is a bit small, but we still managed tea, pasta, toast, curry etc.

 The location is great next to a local shop and there is a large supermarket about 3 minutes drive away. Only about 15 minutes from the airport and the main city and a maximum of about 40 minutes from all the main attractions. 

The really 5 star thing about the place is the hospitality of the owners. Really lovely people and they will do their best to make your stay a trouble free one. They sat us down and drew out on a map all the places to go on the island on our first night. Saved us loads of time looking for good restaurants etc.

Great family stay

The accommodation is in very nice and well prepared apartments, so you have intimacy and the option, if you feel like it, to prepare some food or dinner at home. The setting is spectacular, very nice gardens, a very cozy living room, swimming pool. Joao and Paula are very friendly, they organized the whole stay recommending the most interesting places to visit, where to eat, where to bathe. The island is small, it reaches everywhere in less than an hour. It is well located, in a quiet neighborhood, and it parks well at the door of the accommodation. We are super hot and we hope to return soon.

Perfect Perfect

Paula and Joao have welcomed us with open arms, the house is in a very quiet area, with gardens, it is very well conditioned, it has a room where you can have a beer, wine, coffee and infusions, read, play ping pong, a small swimming pool and well connected to go to any area.

Exceptional, the acogedora.

The apartment is located in an idyllic location. The place where it is located is very central easily if you get to the most interesting places on the island. The owners are very nice people.

It's excellent.

The houses are comfortable and welcoming. The outdoor space is a walk through the nature of the island. The location is excellent being close to everything and with road links to the whole island in two steps. And above all the friendliness, kindness and availability of the owners, Paula and John.

A refuge on a wonderful island

We stayed in a 2 bed apartment which had everything you needed for a relaxing break. The gardens were beautifully set out and maintained and there was a dip pool to cool down in which was kept very clean. The owners Paula and Joao were very helpful and recommended some fantastic restaurants. They also helped with the language barrier when we needed to book taxis etc and they also gave us details for an English speaking tour guide who was very good.Although weather was mixed we still had a great holiday. We manged to get by but a car is recommended as the local bus service was not great and although Taxis were plentiful. I would advise getting a price when booking as they tend to charge over the top when being booked by the restaurants. The Island itself was beautiful and there was lots to do and see. I would definitely recommend both the apartments and the Island for a great holiday.
