I stayed here with family for 2 nights. The rooms have no curtains and are poorly furnished and some of the electrical fittings are bordering on dangerous. The rooms are built in a circular fashion around a central communal living room and kitchen. No breakfast is provided and its first come first served to use the kitchenette in the morning. The landlady was absent and only made an appearance to collect her money the night before we departed.
The price is comparable with other local Penzions that are of a much higher quality and serve breakfast. My advice is that its fine for a short stay and to crash overnight after a hard days hiking, if your staying longer do some research, plenty of better options available at the same price.

Budget accomodation

My wife and I stayed in one of the annex rooms. We shared a kitchen with one other couple but we had a private shower and toilet. The room was a nice size with shelving, hooks, big windows and free internet. There was also a TV but none of the channels worked so I didn't really see any point in that. Better to just take it out. The room has a heater but no air conditioner. It wasn't that hot out when we were there though so opening a window was just fine. The location is pretty decent. A 5 minute walk from Novy Smokovec station and about 10 a minute walk to the Vysoke Tatry (Stary Smokovec station) funicular (the one that takes you up to Hrebeniok). There are also a number of cafes and shops just east of the property including a small supermarket. We didn't really have any problems with the place. Our only bit of criticism would be to take down or change the big flashy Penzion Gabriel sign on the main building. It's super tacky and doesn't really the fit the mountain/nature atmosphere. 

Very enjoyable!

We came here for three days to go skiing. Place is not bad and price is quite good. Views are beautiful, rooms are clean and have new equipment, but if there are many other turists, noise is big. Besides there is no reception and sometimes it is hard to find the owner, who additionally isn't willing to help you... But I can recommend this place for these who need place for a ski trip or mountain hiking trip. Tatras are REALLY beautiful ;)

Pretty good place for a weekend

A spacious comfortable room with a balcony overlooking the mountain stream. There is a well-equipped kitchen and dining room, a beautiful balcony in the courtyard of the boarding house. A view of the mountains! Large parking lot. The boarding house is very well situated relative to the elevator and tramway, which can be used to get to the Podrad or the Strebsk Place.

Clean air and mountains.

everything was nice and clean. the common space is a bit dark but the rooms are nice and clean. good price-quality ratio. suites are spacious. the door of the shower is seethrough which is not the best when you're on vaction with your friends.

Stayed in a large double suite, with two lounge-type areas, bedroom, bathroom and balcony.  

Nice shared lounge area and kitchen that is shared between the apartments.  

Not badly priced and only a short walk into Stary Smokovec.

Dirty kitchen, dirty bathroom, very nice garden around , no receptionist, nobody who can help you if you need something, free parking, it is a good place for short vacation, or  weekand ,but not for a long stay

We stayed only one night (on the car) in a building near the main building on the first floor in a two-bedroom, inhabited by a wagon. The room is neat, but very uncomfortable wood bed with a mattress of obviously poor quality and this is probably the main minus. Private free parking. The lack of breakfast on one side is minus, and the other side of the cafe is not so expensive. I saw the family rooms are quite spacious, but here is the question with the bed. The hostess is a fairly polite woman.
