We spent 10 days at maria et maximo's house!!! An amazing setting with exceptional views of the valley and the nearby village!! The vultures flying over the pool! The kindness of the hoots and their tour tips are always excellent!!! A beautiful place to discover or rediscover!!! Christmas and Elizabeth

The Paradise

We spent 1 week in Cielo Abierto with family in summer. All inside of the house was with top quality (bed, sofa, kitchen,...) 
Terrace views was amazing, specially at night. Swimming pool was also perfect, with specific place per each house (only four houses in total)

Quite place with incredible views and quality

We stayed this week in A Open Sky and it was a great experience.The site is very quiet and enjoys the silence.If you can get down to Berzocana on foot, they have a swimming pool and from there you can hike or cycle routes.Close is the village of Guadalupe which is also worth a visit and many other attractions.I can't help but highlight the great treatment given by the owners of the accommodation who are always attentive to what you may need and are some magnificent guides to the area.A place to repeat.

A place to go back.

It is a magnificent apartment for disconnecting and connecting with nature.For us, it is important to get to a place where information about the area, routes, supermarkets, history, etc. is facilitated... get up and open the window which gives you a relaxing landscape... it is priceless.

Open sky since you woke up.

Cozy hilltop accommodation (very clean!), unique views, absolute tranquility, a swimming pool for guests in an unbeatable location for the hottest days in the extreme countryside. Possibility of field walks next door to home, or if not, by car you can get close to other locations where tours for more experienced hikers begin. Natural and scenic pools 8 kilometers away. You will wake up (if you want...) with the song of the local geese and fall asleep to the melody of the crickets. Ideal for families with not too young children or for couples. It is a very hour and a half away from Guadalupe (road and little traffic). With two perfect teenage dogs.

Precious views from the house, a dream place without a doubt, the house does not lack a single detail, very beautiful, more beautiful than in the photos, the feeling of being in my house. And most of all I stay with Duck, an amazing dog that we love. Undoubtedly an amazing place to get to know the most unknown part of Extremadura, undoubtedly we will return in days to see a lot of things.

The open sky gives you the opportunity to experience a part of our beautiful Extremadura.It is an exceptional place to relax as a couple watching those mountains from the strategic terraces that each apartment has and thus enjoy the nature that will surround you.This past weekend is the second time we have enjoyed such a special place.Thank you for letting us feel at home.There are no two without three, we will be back!! ;)

A special place.

My wife and I spent two nights at this jewel of a place tucked away in a rugged and wild corner of Extremadura. The simple yet stylish and comfortable self-catering apartments are sat on a ridge overlooking the tidy little hamlet of Berzocana with dramatic views of the granite peaks of the Villuercas-Ibores-Jara Geopark on either side. Whether you want to disconnect and enjoy the views and tranquility from the vine clad verandah, explore the peaks and trails of the geopark by foot or bike, watch eagles soaring overhead, swim in wild streams and reservoirs or visit the shrine and atmospheric town of Guadalupe nearby, the charming hosts, María and Maximo are on hand for a chat, advice or for anything else to make your stay a memorable one. A real jewel not to be missed! Raoul

Wild and beautiful corner of Extremadura

We stayed here for four nights during a heatwave, and it was the most perfect place. We were in apartment/studio #3, which has a spacious terrace overlooking the village of Berzocana in the valley below.

We pre-booked breakfast and dinner every day, but if you can be bothered to go shopping and prepare your own meals, the kitchen is perfectly well-equipped other than there being no oven. It includes a kettle, filter-coffee machine, toaster, microwave and plenty of cutlery and crockery. You might want to bring snacks, beers and milk though - the fridge-freezer was more than big enough! Also, bring your own tea bags if you're particular.

We found the meals good value for money, particularly as dinner included a bottle of wine (or other drinks if you prefer). The food was simple, but tasty and more than adequate, and the best part was that it was delivered to the terrace by Maria, the owner, at the time of our choosing (we even had breakfast delivered at 6.15 one morning when we had to leave early for an excursion).

The main bedroom/lounge was very spacious, with plenty of storage and wardrobe/drawer space. The air-conditioning was quiet, efficient and very welcome! The shower was excellent and a hair-drier was available.

The pool is quite small, but plenty big enough to cool down in. Bring your own towels.

There is a washing machine available for guests.

One thing we only discovered as we were checking out (partly because an email didn't reach us for some reason) is that the balance has to be paid in cash, even if you've used a card to pay the deposit on the hotel's online booking system. There is no cashpoint in Berzocana, but there are a couple 15 minutes drive down the valley in Cañamero.

There's good, free wifi throughout the property.

One last thing, the owners have a dog who loves company so tends to hang around the apartments with his rubber chicken. I don't particularly like dogs, but Duck is ... well, a duck, and absolutely no problem at all.

We'd be more than happy to stay here again if we're even in this part of Spain again.

A beautiful, tranquil setting

We were in one of the apartments, I loved it: it has everything in the kitchen, very well decorated, super clean, very good mattress, and the wonderful terrace that is where we spend the most time. The lovely owners with all kinds of explanations of the area and super kind, and I don't want to forget about their dog Duck, very very cute, I'll come back because I loved everything and to see Duck again.
