An extraordinary place to eat in an area -O Courel- of great beauty but quite unknown.It is located along the road to Santiago.The service is very attentive.The Gallego caldo and the fried potato meats are very good.And the prices are cheap.

I'm not sure what happened.

A very good establishment on the Camino, in a small village near a farm. Very friendly welcome; the small fire in the fireplace was welcome.View over the valley. Beautiful room, clean, calm; good bed. Very nice bathroom. Excellent food, cooked before our eyes; attentive service. Very good breakfast. If all accommodation could be at this price and quality on the Camino, it would be great!

That's great!

We arrived at Casa de Lucas in the afternoon after a warm trip from O Cebreiro. We were greeted kindly by the owners, without any haste, always time for a small and pleasant chat. We ate and ate breakfast. Nothing complicated but good quality product, salad, fried eggs at dinner, juice, toast and coffee at breakfast. The room and bathroom, spacious and clean. Good towels and large bottles of shampoo. Good price/quality ratio. As a suggestion, and is a constant on the way, I would put perches in the bathroom to put the shower towels and an antique device so that I don't have to use a repellent.

Good election 

Rooms without large luxuries, with good heating and good wifi reception. Very rich casera food (hot and fried eggs with chorizo and potatoes). Very friendly and cordial owners. Breakfast for 3 euros (coffee and toastadas).

A good experience.

We spent the first night of our Camino 7 day trip in Casa Lucas. It is a simple small family guesthouse attached to a working farm. It is run by a lovely  woman  who could not have been kinder or more helpful.  The rooms were spotlessly clean, each with its own bathroom. The beds were extemely comfortable. The evening meal was delicious, cooked by our hostess and served by her son who was also charming. Breakfast was also provided. A taxi was arranged the following morning  to take us to  OCebreiro 14km away, which was the official start of our Camino walk. This meant we passed by Fonfria  just in time for lunch. The platter of  cheese and cold cuts of meat, washed down with local wine was one of the culinary highlights of our 7 day trip. I cannot reccomend it highly enough.

An exceptional start to our Camino walk

We got there lost in the year 2014.We were very hungry since it was already late to eat.We entered and the place we fell in love with, we were treated with great affection by that woman who captivated us by offering us those extraordinary eggs with chorizo.That abundant food prepared as if we were part of the family was marked on our retina.We are in 2016 and we will start 15 friends on the road, we talk about this place and I found the food note that reads the name of Fonfría.Searching on the Internet I took this pleasant surprise by seeing the photos and reading the comments.No doubt soon we will eat there as long as we started in O Cebre and will do everything possible to visit this restaurant that is recorded.

The best one on the road.

My girlfriend and I arrived, after a hard day of travel, in a small village left by the hand of the god, (Fonfría ), at first glance we thought where we were placed... we saw only 4 houses and the largest number of inhabitants of cows. I entered the country house of Lucas to ask for the reservation and upon entering I embraced those smells of fire, broth and the good atmosphere that unleashed celsa and her husband, two charming, super-service people and that make you feel at home, the room is very nice, everything very clean and the bathroom has everything necessary.

Excellent location, excellent food, excellent owners!!

We walked a long day on the Camino de Santiago to reach Casa Lucas as our new grandson has the same name.  
We were not disappointed!  The lady owner was friendly and helpful.  
The rooms were comfortable and spacious with lovely valley views.
Even more important the food was delicious and the breakfast plentiful which made a good start to the day.
We would stay here again.

A great place to stay on "The Way"

We stopped here for one night on our Camino. The lady that runs the place was wonderful. Her attention to detail fabulous. 
It is an old Casa that has recently been renovated inside & is a wonderful Oasis. There are 3 rooms. Ours had a new bathroom & the place was very clean.
Rooms were a little small, but we paid only €36 for a twin room.
Breakfast was €3 for cafe & toast, but she makes sure you have enough to eat. We also watched the cows being herded past the window while we were eating, on their way to be milked.
The wifi in the place is also great.

Farming Community

This is a very small town along the Camino route but this small hotel is a real gem. Appears one woman runs it and does everything including cooking. Room is small with a nice bathroom, all very clean. Food is superb, including local goat cheese. She did our laundry too. Highly recommend!
