There were some bad reviews which we saw only after payment was taken. On arrival these appeared unfair. The place looked ok. It was in an industrial estate some kms from Lezama, it is on the flight path to Bilbao airport, and the motorway is close so it is noisy. We asked if breakfast was included and were told it was. On balance we thought 86 euros - you can’t expect the Ritz. But, echoing previous reviews, the beds do have plastic mattress covers, bane of menopause. The room was really hot, opening the window made it hotter. Plugs had been removed from bath and bidet so no muscle or foot soak available tediously after a long, hot walk. There was nowhere comfortable to sit outside. I went in and prepared to lounge on a sofa. The woman who runs it sat glued to daytime tv and advised I could not put my feet up. I explained I was just out of the shower, they were sore etc. she didn’t budge. There are multiple rooms, some with balconies but no one was placed in one of these. The beds and pillows are hard and poor quality. Breakfast was really indifferent. Plastic ham, cold croissant. Good orange juice. We were then charged 8 euros each for this breakfast… It is abundantly clear no one would ever go back to this hotel which may explain the lack of interest towards guest experience by the owners but if I was talking to anyone undertaking Camino del Norte I would positively recommend they did not stay here.

Another poor review

Walked in after a long Camino day, through a heavy industrial area, to an unfriendly receptionist/owner who with prompting volunteered some information on where to have dinner. We lugged our bags up 2 floors into a dark room, with 2 single beds with dirty plastic mattress-protectors (like hospital beds). A tiny window in the room, only one side opened, looking onto industrial machinery. No fan, throughout the night factory noise, we had to close the window. The only redeeming feature was the orange juice at breakfast.

Not recommended

The rooms are fine, that’s the best thing I can say about the place. Location is terrible, in the middle of an industrial estate. But the worst thing is the staff. They absolutely hate their job and I can tell. These people should not work in hospitality. I was checked in for the night and my friend was flying back so he wanted to have a shower in my toom before his flight……absolutely no way. So we sat outside for a while and I went in to ask her where the toilet was, whereopon she pointed at my socks and told me to put shoes on. Cmon lady we’ve just walked 17km, have some humanity!!! Took great pleasure in stomping my mucky shoes across the lobby

Not the welcome we’ve come to love on Camino

The hotel is located next to an industrial estate. Avoid room 25 if you prefer a view other than a large chemical factory belching out smoke into the environment. If you would like a bath rather than a shower, take your own plug, as this item is missing from the bathroom and reception won't give you one. Breakfast is pretty miserable with processed ham and cheese. The bed and breakfast price includes 1 cup of coffee. There is an extra charge for a 2nd.

To be avoided

The hotel is located between the airport and the centre of Bilbao. It is a must-have car for lunch or dinner. The proximity to the motorway and the airport is convenient but generates a lot of noise. The breakfast is very short. The rooms are very old and very humid. In short, go if you have no choice but prefer somewhere else around Bilbao.

It's very convenient.

Located in an industrial area, it seems like you're about to arrive and it's going to be horrible. However, it's a lovely house that opens to a meadow and a quiet place to rest after a long walk.

A place to rest.

Close to industrial area but quiet on weekend.  Clean and tidy rooms.  Hostess not accommodating.  No food on premises and restaurants a good 1/2 mile away.  Breakfast not until 8am with no coffee earlier despite pleading.

Clean, close to camino

The facilities in poor condition, old and uncleaned furniture, we ask for a restaurant and we recommend one that has some of the lowest scores in the area when booking, we assume spurious interests. when we look very close we have other magnificent ones. the chair cannot be used because it has samples of a significant uncleaned liquid spill and the bathrooms with oxidation residue, I am not realistic with many hotels and hostels above by work.

Good situation, poor facilities.

Highly recommended, both Sorcúnde and her husband are available for whatever you need. very comfortable and well decorated rooms. The surroundings are spectacular, although it is true that it is close to an industrial area, no noise reaches.

This is an excellent recommendation.

Common facilities very spacious, the whole building is huge. Room with a view of the estate which is also huge, very spacious, spacious bathroom, clean and functional, very pleasant. Detailed attention, kept the bike in a safe place.
