In January 1988 was the first time I was in this hostel, Don José, Doña Carmen and their children Carmencita and Alfredo were like my family (including Carmiña, the girl who went to the rooms) I was lucky enough to return, it's a shame that no longer is, I will never forget them.

Like at home.

I was here with my mother for a short trip to Madrid. The lady who manages was very kind and informative. The place itself is not 10, it's quite old. It was all clean and functional. We got the service we actually paid for. The top is the location... behind the Palace de Los Diputados in the super center of Madrid less than 80 meters from the SOL subway station. The location saved us a lot of money in taxi and subway.

Excellent location

The attention of the service is great, very kind and charming.It is very well located, in the center just behind the Congress of Deputies, perfect for seeing Madrid or visiting somewhere, The rooms are a little small but for spending a few days they are very nice and the price quality is great.In the rooms the air runs very well, which in summer is a favourable point.

Excellent site 

the little bath tub did it for me. friendly staff in a small "pension" which seems to have long term residents of the "senior citizen" variety. The staff were friendly helpful and keen to orientate a first time visitor to Madrid. Will return. without doubt

wonderful location next to Spanish parliament and main galleries

For its price, this hostel, which is located just behind the Congress of Deputies, is located on the 10th, quiet street and above it very closely guarded by the proximity of the Congress. recommended for people who want to spend a few days in Madrid and at night to sleep quietly.

Buen hostel quality, price 

Very nice 👍👍👍 it's at the centre of madrid.everything is around you.the museums are very near the hostal.plaza sol is 3 minutes from hostal.also is very near to the tourist bus and metro station.very clean room and the stuff very happy!

Very good location 

A typical hostel on a very large floor of an old building. Simple but clean and with the right room. In fact, we were two people in the room and had two beds of more than 90 cm each. The only drawback is that the bathroom was elongated but quite narrow, so a large person could have enough discomfort to sit in the toilet, for example. The attention was kind and correct at all times, allowing us to leave the luggage once we checked out until we left the city. The location is ideal because it is halfway between the area of the Prado museum and the Retiro area, with the Puerta del Sol less than 5 minutes away.

Good value for money

To all those who are going to spend a weekend or a full week in Madrid, I recommend the Hostal Reconquista, central, right behind the Palacio Del Congreso, near all the historic Madrid, do it all by walking.Las dueñas, las dos Carmen simpatcas y campechanas, the super clean room, the comfortable beds and the quiet room. Ideal for couples or with family. Ideal for everything at hand and close to all the sites of interest.

A magnificent hostel.

This is a great stay! Rooms are clean and spacious. The hostal is a little dated but it suites the spanish ambiance. However it is not shabby at all! Nice and helpfull family who runs the hostal. Location is fantastic! Save neighborhood in the city centre, just outside the crowded hotspots. Would def recommend this for others!!! And would go here again myself. 
Room smell a little, probably ask for a none smoked room to avoid that. 

Great place, value for money

I know that is cheap but a can tell you that there are very reason why. It was very noisy. Very cold even colder than outdoors sometime, dark. The only good thing I can tell you is that the cleaning personnel do a good work. Everything was clean.
