A basic hotel but was as expected based on the information on booking.com website. 
Room was basic family room of 1 double and 3 single beds, bathroom had shower over toilet although a spacious room but water was always hot so can’t complain. 
Location great, close to the beach and quieter bed of the beach. Bars and cafes close by.

Simple hotel that offers everything you need at a good price, ideal for a couple of nights stay.

DO NOT STAY HERE. Found a cockroach in our bed, shower and tap water kept cutting out and no wifi. Host was lovely and very nice location such a shame. Would give more stars if not for very basic hygiene issues. No bedside lamps or sockets near the bed too.

Hygiene …

All dark wood and very grounding traditional thai bungalows. The views to the beach from the front ones are bliss! The rest are all very close so don’t expect much privacy on your deck. 
Clever design. Simple. Affordable. Good wifi, water, aircon. No daily service.
There’s rooms at the back that look cool and cheaper than the huts. I’d stay in them if not absolute front.
The bed was crazy hard, but it may have just been mine. No top sheet, odd, just 2  Chelsea blankets. Please change that if the lender reads this. 
Neighbour told us on our last day that the owner has a menu that you can order from and have delivered!!! Wish we knew that earlier as the walk to main part is 20 mins. 
Besides all that. BLISS to walk onto the beach and swim or lay on their beach chairs.

we were recommended from a friend to stay there. but the bungalow is lower then our expectation. it is really small, not much space inside, just 2 twin beds and a little space for walk to the bathroom. the room is quite dark as they use dark red wood for wall, floor and ceiling, a compact bathroom with a very strong water gun that must be careful if you want to use it, not convenice as no plug near your bed to plug in but there are a few plugs opposite the bed and bathroom. the positive points are terrace in front of the room and for easy people just sitting on the beach in front of the hotel

We checked in two days ago, we went up  to the front our room stunk. They gave us a can of spray. The front desk lady doesn’t care to speak to you, help or offer any advice. 

I went to fill our water bottles and the jug was empty when I asked when a new jug would be brought she ignored me. When I asked about coffee she rolled her eyes, dig in her desk and found us some. 

She was more concerned with her phone, Facebook and playing a game on the computer than helping. 

Our room was never cleaned or our garbage taken out. The a/c had two settings low and high. 

A lot of yelling and banging at all hours. You can hear EVERYTHING! The toilets, taps, people above and beside your room. 

AVOID BOOKING HERE ! 

Smelly, loud & staff doesn’t care 

First and foremost you need to know that this place is a dump. My boyfriend and I had planned three nights here and bounced after the first night and booked a different hotel on Long Beach. I have several complaints about this “resort.” If you make it through my review then you’ll listen when I say DO NOT waste your time or money.

My boyfriend and I work in the TV industry and travel a hell of a lot for work and have most definitely stayed in some crappy places, but this place tops them all. We also do a fair bit of research before booking places and used trip advisor to look into this place. We noticed that there were some bad reviews from a year or so ago but it appeared that recently the reviews were getting more positive. I am really not sure why and wonder if previous reviews came from the younger crowd who were probably drunk most nights and oblivious to the fact cockroaches were sleeping in the room with them. YES ... we killed multiple cockroaches in our room. 

ALSO, it seems that most hotels on phi phi get no more than 3 stars on trip advisor. Anyways, after a long debate we decided to go for it and book it. Deluxe bungalow on the beach it said. Well that was a complete lie. This bungalow was far from deluxe and our view was of another bungalow. The bungalows are really close together and while they look cute from the outside they are far from that on the inside.

Inside of the bungalow smelt of varnish and there was a lingering must. The bed was super small and felt like I was sleeping on a ton of bricks. My ribs hurt when I woke up. Oh, also... don’t expect any bedding other than a hot fury blanket which is way to hot for Thailand. I asked the front desk for a sheet but the girl spoke no English and had no idea how to help me. It also seemed like she really couldn’t care less about the resort or the guests. The fitted sheet we did have on the bed was ripped (check the photos) and when we shook out the blanket out came the first cockroach. We then found multiple more cockroaches. There’s a bunch of holes in the wooded walls which the cockroaches and bugs can easily get in through. 

There was a weird saw dust all over the floors - it was definitely not sand. The place looked like it had never been cleaned. The bathroom was a dump- shower basically on top of the toilet, mould and grime everywhere. This place is not hygienic and while the bungalows are on the cheaper side I still expect a level of cleanliness. 

I booked this hotel using my Amex platinum reward points and will be fighting as much as I can to get these back as we moved out of the hotel. 

We did not sleep a wink and also while the bungalows are at the farthest end of the beach you can still here the banging music coming from the town, not to mention the boats right outside. This location is fine but too near the Pier for me and the countless tourist boats that dump hundreds of people all day. The small swimmable beach outside the hotel was far from paradise and there are much better beaches to explore on phi phi.

I urge anyone reading not to stay here otherwise you might end up like us.... spending our second out of three days moving hotels when we should be out exploring phi phi.

Air con was pretty useless too!

AVOID- cockroaches/ dump

Cute little bungalows in the quiet end of Phi Phi. I was a little apprehensive after reading some of the reviews but it was great! Quiet, clean enough (it's literally on the sand so expect lots of sand!) & good air con. It's a decent walk to the beach party area but that didn't bother us. During the day lots of day trip speed boats land near the resort but if you get up early you basically have the beach to yourself. Would stay again! 

Quiet bungalows

The best option is to stay in the front bangaloos, overlooking the beach. The bangaloos are very close to each other, if someone goes with a child you will be highly disturbed. We stay in the upper rooms, overlooking the beach, the sound is bad, you could hear what the people from the next room were talking about, you could also hear what was being said in the bangaloos below (including, there was a sleeping child). The room is extremely clean, the daily cleaning service is great, please request. The location meets as the hygiene in our bathroom is clean and little packed. The bathroom is very quiet.

Good for my limited budget

Well, To begin with the experience..
The location is at The Phi Phi Islands which is considered to be one the most beautiful tropical islands and at the end of the beach.
Check-in was quick.
This ambiance of the place is beautiful overlooking the beach.
The view in the room from the balcony with the sun-downer and sunrise was the best and was a nominal wooden cottage with a king bed, the room was clean and the bathroom was OK for the place not fancy though for which you would call it a resort.
Rooms are normally moderate priced for the sea ambiance which is perfect.
The place is away from all the crowded areas at the end and leaving you alone soaking yourself in the sea and having your own romantic scenarios with your partner.
Worth it if you're on a budget with a beautiful view.
The place is Highly recommended to families,friends and couples who are on a budget and yet looking for a nice sea view ambiance to wake up-to.

The Sand Sea View Resort Experience

We stayed in a Bungalow just in front of the beach.
The receptionist was very kind and warm. 
Rooms it's big, clean and so nice with the amazing view.
You can sit in the balcony and watch the sunrise in the morning.
Just in front, there is a Thai massage, with a view of the beach.
Far from the noisy, calm and relaxing. Perfect for couples who want to enjoy the romantic scenes from Phi phi. 
Highly recommended!
