Every Tuesday, the Ao Si restaurant hosts Happy Hour from 5 to 7 p.m. and from about 9 p.m. onwards, a fireworks show on the beach, followed by free chicken spices from the BBQ. After complaints about the poor quality of the cocktails in other facilities (except Horizon), we were pleasantly surprised by the cocktails in Ao Si, then ate well and ended the evening with the fireworks show and a free chicken spit.

We love ❤ Au Si Bungalow, its restaurant and even more importantly the staff 💕 We planned to stay for 3 nights and extended because we liked it so much. 

People's critical reviews aren't necessarily wrong (yes monkeys, some insects, steps to bungalows) but I'd say "check your expectations"! If you want a 4☆ or 5☆ sanitised hotel then go elsewhere.

If you want to get to know incredibly warm and lovely Thai people, be by the sea hearing waves when you sleep, lazy days in a hammock on beach, eat delicious food in the restaurant (particularly the set meals) then Au Si is for you! It was so peaceful. Sometimes we were the only people on the beach. Loved it and plan to go back!

⭐AMAZING⭐

We arrived at Ko Jum with great expectations and full of anticipation and drove to our accommodation by boat. When we arrived we had already made a bad impression! We were not received as kindly as we were used to from Thailand, let alone welcomed. The owners seem totally arrogant and unfriendly! After we were brought to our bungalows by one of the employees, the good mood went right away! The bungalows are leaking and the whole bungalow, as well as on the way to our accommodation were endless. This is what we have to expect from our animals when we are in the jungle, but we are not expected to have an amoeba plague there! Unfortunately, however, there is a mosquito on the bed, and the whole atmosphere just flowed right away! The bungalows are leaking and the whole bungalow was going on without end. What a disaster!

I had almost a week here and without doubt the Setting is simply stunning. One of the few places left in Thailand that isn't now mobbed. The owners here were very friendly, and the bungalow i stayed in had a very comfortable bed and nice linen. The food as in nearly all Thailand was fresh, well cooked and cheap. The breakfast could be improved by offering fresh juice and not powdered.  The place sadly though is in need of a good update. Described as a deluxe room, it wasn't. It was a clean simple bungalow with cracks in the celings for frogs and ghekos to wander in and out of and a tin roof for the monkeys to dance on top of. The bathroom was in need to revamping and the security on the Doors should be improved. There were also sightings of rats around which is a no go for me. As i say, stunning setting, but they need a good few months closed to update everything.

Beautiful area, but the resort needs some TLC

The room was unacceptable. The mosquito net was not large enough for the bed. Ants COVERED the bathroom, along with a cockroach and something else that pooped on the sink? The windows were missing panels. Holes in the walls. The walk up and down to the beach was exhausting and the stairs were crumbling. We booked our room with breakfast included and they tried asking us to pay for it multiple times even though we clarified before ordering that it was included. I had ants in the bathroom, on the walls, on the floor, in my bags, and on me. If you like cleanliness and comfort DEFINETLY DO NOT STAY HERE. Garbage on the beach was unsightly. Booked for 3 nights and left after the first night. I honestly don't understand how this place has ANY positive reviews.

I would not recommend staying here

Since I always liked the Ao Si bungalows from the outside, we decided to stay there for six nights after our return. From a distance everything looked fine. We got an unattended bungalow with a sparse bathroom. Both would have been absolutely fine... at night it went off - the conscience. We had three rats in the bungalow at the same time.

excellent condition, super beautiful beach; service and hygiene not satisfactory, room cleaning only on demand, the matting layers for those lying rotten on the beach; garbage is partly disposed of in the jungle; obviously overbooking takes place; confirmed registration was ignored (not only with us); good kitchen, nice house and guard dog that also keeps the monkeys away

Pirate hate

This place is a little more rustic than anticipated. Pretty cool if you like that sort of thing. WIFI was below average and was only available in the dining room. Food was only okay. Eating alternatives were a way away. The rubbish on the beach was a disgrace. I’ve stayed on many islands in Thailand and this was the worst I’ve seen. Apparently comes from Koh Phi Phi. Lots of people sitting around but no effort to clean up.

Rustic charm/filthy beach

We came to spend 3 nights and ended up staying 9 nights. It's located right at the beach, we stayed at a bungalow overlooking the sea, so there was a nice cool breeze at all times. 
The owners Kasem and Wandee couldn't be more lovely and helpful. Nothing ever was a problem, they organized taxis for our arrival and departure and always gave us advice when needed.
At first we were the only guests, but even when there were more in the course of our stay the place always felt quiet and relaxed. The bar is open till about 11pm, food is good, the beach is beautiful and quiet and the wifi is comparatively fast. You can watch a gang of monkeys roaming around occasionally, which is fun (but you might want to keep your doors shut when going out). 
I will definitely stay at Aosi Bungalow again when coming to Koh Jum, great value and we absolutely loved it.

Perfect

The "road" to the bungalows is through a bit of a jungle then opens up to the lovely little bungalows perched on the side of a hill.  I think you can see the ocean from almost each one.  Was greeted by extremely friendly staff and brought to my bungalow.  There is a table and chair on the porch (I did see some bungalows had hammocks as well!) and inside is a simple bed with a mosquito net, towels, fan and bathroom.  The beds in Thailand are hit and miss, usually very firm.  This one was the same, I slept alright.  From the balcony you will see monkeys scampering about and at times, you can hear them on your roof.  I was alone on this trip so once it became dark, it can be a little spooky to hear tree nuts/monkeys hitting the roof.  Leave the light off in the room as well or it will just get surrounded by bugs.  However, snug in my mosquito net, I was safe!  That part of it was such a little inconvenience compared to the view, the service, and the beach!  It's nice and shaded all day which keeps the room cool(ish...I mean, it's Thailand!) and you have your option to go bask in the direct sun on the beach, swim in the water or sit in the restaurant overlooking the beach.  Just beautiful.  The owner organized a taxi for me to the longtail boat which was 150bt.  The longtail was 100bt to go to Laem Kruat and the ride into Krabi was another 100bt and about 40mins.  It's a cheaper option than getting the boat to Krabi (400bt) and a beautiful ride.
