I am writing this review while I'm staying in Amar hotel. At the moment, I am sitting in the dining part of the Lobby and although there exists a big "No-Smoking" sign with a 109 Turkish Lira fine, the staff of the hotel are smoking in front of me and ignoring my complaint not to smoke! No surprise, they do not understand the most basic English words and I had to use google translate to turn everything to Turkish for them. Furthermore, the Wi-fi signal in the rooms is painstakingly weak and one has to sit in the lobby to access proper internet. I will not go into the details of the breakfast they offer each morning in this so-called "bed and breakfast," again, so-called "hotel!" The same simple mixture of cucumber, tomato, salty olive, cheese and bread with no milk or anything fancy you would think of. To be fair, the place is quite close to the embassies of several countries and other city center headquarters and you could count on it if you are just visiting for business.

Avoid unless you have to! (i.e. on a business trip)

When we arrived late one night for an appointment at the consulate, we had to change rooms. Clean pace, climate not working. We change rooms... smells of cigarettes and room leaving to be desirable.

What to Avoid

How can they even call it a Hotel??? And we'd been told its a 3 start hotel!!!! I really dont know where to start to describe this horrible place...its way beyond dirty ... the blankets are totally black because of stains ..the door lock was hanging and it was not placed where it suppose to be!!! There is absolutely not enough light...there is no tissue paper , no slippers, there are dirts and dust everywhere!!! They switch off the heater in the middle of the night to save money for their own!!! You guys are not going to believe what i am saying untill you see it with your eyes...what we did was we booked another hotel and shift there..just do not go to this place at all! Thank you ..

Intro:
We were visiting Ankara for Canada's embassy, so we asked for a hotel near by, we stood in Ankara for 3 nights and this hotel was a terrible choice. Even though you could walk to various embassies easily if you're at Amar hotel, the service at this hotel was so bad that you better choose another hotel.

First impressions:
The first thing you notice is that its too dark in there, there's not enough lighting available in the rooms, the elevator could barely fit two people with their luggage. 

Inside the rooms:
The rooms had a TV with an almost broken remote, a fridge that was empty! And was warm and stinking. There were pieces fallen off from the walls and one of the curtains was glued to the frame of the window so you couldn't roll it up.
The blanket was burned with a cigarette. We had wifi in the rooms which was alright.
There was no safe in the room.

Bathroom:
There was 2 half used shampoos in there. The toilet wasn't shiny. The shower didn't look clean there were germs here and there and there was water all over the ground, the water wasn't directed to the drain properly so the floor was always wet.
The wooden parts around the sink were swollen. There was a working blowdryer provided.

Breakfast:
It was ok, nothing special, no fruits or fruit juice provided, 3 types of cheese, olive, bread, cornflakes, tea, fries, boiled eggs and sausages.

Area:
There were several bars and restaurants around, it was close to several parks which were nice to have a walk. But the hotel was placed on a ramp so elder people would have a hard time to get out and have a walk.

Last words:
Unless you're an easy going person and unless you're planning to stay more than a night in Ankara its a viable choice but I'd find a better hotel this one would ruin the vacation.

Avoid this hotel for good

This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed, dark room, dirty and etc. Hotel employees are not helpful at all and dont speak English, location is also bad, likely I have moved to another hotel on very next day.

Terrible

Cold water and cold room, no air condition, TV out of order, no tissue and trash can, Breakfast without tea, coffee and Milk. I did not test the others. most amazing twin bed with with one blanket and one pillow. it was a very terrible dark and cold night there.
