Not the best experience, the room had a bad smell and a lot of humidity. The bedroom fan was in critical condition with the dust on it. Fortunately it was winter and we didn't have to use it, as it must not have been cleaned in years. 
I hope that people who have this type of business value the conditions they offer as much as the money they earn.

Not recommended

A dirty, unsanitary and careless place, very decadent. Filled with humidity and not cleaned in a week. There is no security since the rooms (which are also dwarves) have no key and anyone can access from the street, which is also in a dark and unhealthy environment. No one watches who enters the room and they had not even changed the sheets, they were dirty and with empty bottles of old guests, I told the manager and he told me that I would change myself.

Dirty, unsanitary, unsafe, very hot and noisy.

so I booked a private en-suite room. The bathroom was disgusting, it had probably not been cleaned for a couple of months, it smelt like mould and the shower handle was broken. Worst part was the public hairs on the toilet seat.

In the morning I asked to check out early and for a refund of the un-used days. They refused saying “hostels are not bites, they do not need to be clean” unbelievable. 

Aside from this - good location, terrible thing walls that you can hear EVERYTHING. Comfortable enough bed.

This trip adviser page says the rooms have a fridge and new mattress which is not true. 

Dirty - Public hairs on private toilet! 

It's located just 100 meters from the Galata Tower, it's amazing. The hostel is hard to find, it only has a colorful billboard with letters that are hard to see... but well, asking if it's there. In Istanbul the directions are really difficult and the GPS doesn't work very well because they get lost under the signal. I've been there twice a month. The first one touched my photo room. Only 4 beds with a private bathroom. Chiquita, smelly, on the first floor. The second one touched me a room of 6, everything more compressed and dirtier and on a third floor... They just hand you a towel on request, there are 24 hours. The personal hair is excellent and serviceable. They don't have a free tease.

Central and economic.

Excellent location, friendly owner, excellent english spoken. Humble place yet you feel like home. 
Very good place to stay for good value of money. 
The roof is always open for guests who always leave a souvenir b4 they go. 

Ill defenitly come back whenever im in istanbul. 

Amazing experience

Amazing hostel with perfect location and super friendly staff and atmosphere. It located next to galata tower full of cafe and shops and easy access to Istiklal st. Easy access to public transportation by metro and tramway. Cleanliness is good. Small kitchen that you can prepare your foor or breakfast and fabulous rooftop with jaw-locking view.

Hostel is clean, nice atmosphere. It has a good location, very close to Galata tower (you can observe it from the hostel terrace). This area is in quiet center, close to Istiklal street and metro station Sishane. Nice kitchen and nice terrace, wi-fi there is better than in the room. The owner is a cute funny guy)))

Nice and clean hostel

A very clean hostel and quite well located... I really enjoy the service and the quality of the people working there! they were all gorgeous and make you feel very comfortable! I recommend people carrying shampoo and gel which is the only thing that is not there.

Wonderful experience a lovely place the girls make you feel very comfortable with a smile the lady of the kitchen a charm the kids of the seasonal as well as the very comfortable facilities would recommend it to anyone who wants a family hostel in Istanbul.

The website states the reception is 24 hour. I still emailed with no response to confirm I would be arriving just after midnight only to find the place locked up with some out of service phone numbers attached to the door. What budget flight DOESN'T arrive at a stupid time?! 
The entire country was teetering on the brink of civil war a few weeks ago. Not really ideal for sleeping rough! Eventually a long term guest let me in and took payment.
The beds are uncomfortable too but unless you arrive during office hours you might not find out!
