I made my fourth visit to Konya this November when my wife accompanied me for a tour around Turkey.
My last stay in Otel Derya dates back to December 2021.  This year, the hotel offered me a special rate because of my previous stays ( loyal customer). Nothing has really changed in the hotel except the newly installed WIFI at all floors and the BA13 panels covering all walls  to give a feeling and look of newly built walls.
Food at the breakfast buffet was much above the average offered in 3-star hotels. I really enjoyed my breakfast for the 2 nights spent at this hotel. I  also appreciated the 24/24 coffee and tea availability (free of charge). The staff and the lady in charge of cleaning the rooms were very friendly and always ready to help whenever asked.
The hotel was close to the main transport network, tram and buses and only 10 minutes walk to the main touristic and cultural sites: mevlana museum and archeological museum. The konya cultural center is 15 minutes walk or 5 minutes ride from the hotel. We were there on Saturday and we could attend the whirling dervishes show. A great show which is a must to attend in case you are visiting Konya.

A 3 star hotel above average

I visited Konya by the times of COVID 19, on a saturday, which is a totally confined day in Turkey.
I really had no ides about Otel Derya because it was the next door hotel that recommended it. In fact, I originally booked a room in Konak Hotel. When I reached it, it was obvious that the hotel had no clients (empty) and this was the reason that made me move to Derya Hotel.
The room  was spacious and well equipped (fridge, kettle, coffee and tea bags)... The bathroom had a shower (italian type).. All amenities were available.
Breakfast was of a very good quality: rich and varied.
The staff  (in fact, it is composed of a cook, a receptionist and the room service ) was very helpful and showed a lot of respect to the guests.
Last, I was accompanied by my wife and we paid only 16 Euros for bed&breakfast.

Old but nice and very affordable

The hotel is normal, without shame and without glory, however clean, spacious room with two King beds and bathroom with the necessary. The breakfast is plentiful but not noteworthy, with all things typically Turkish. The staff is kind and available even though they don't speak much English but on the other hand Monta as a city is not even very frequented by tourists. However, if you spend a night here it is more than acceptable.

After a few days in Cappadocia, we left for the Mediterranean by car with a stage in Konya on Friday. The hotel is poor and the experience is very bad. 1- At the reception no one gave us the room key. We had to wait 30 minutes to get to our room. I understand that for the receptionist the prayer of the sale is important, but 2 other people from the hotel were present watching the bath and were unable to replace him?! It's just a matter of organization that finds his little account. 2- At the arrival in the room the refrigerator didn't work. 2- At the receptionist's breakdown the bathroom was just a conclusion. So the room wasn't checked or nothing was wrong before their door was opened!

One night in Konya

At the entrance, there are all evidences that the owners are true muslims. It is ok and no problem what you believe in but if you don't practice what islam says "be clean" and have your rooms as dirty as they can be, then re consider your belief or your professionality.

Practice what you preach

Clean, "modern" for rural Turkey. One block off main plaza near principal mosque and Rumi tomb and adjoining Mevlavi museum. Courteous staff trying their best despite limited English. Safe area. Modest restaurants nearby.  Very abundant free breakfast. Well priced.

Central and Comfortable in Konya

Budget place in the centre of town close to the major mosque. There are many hotels in the neighborhood as well as plenty of eateries. The room was clean, came with a small fridge, airconditioning. Breakfast was plentiful. Wifi was erratic even though the receptionist made me believe that nothing was wrong with it.

I just spent 4 nights at the Derya Hotel in Konya, and it was a very satisfying stay. -Probes: -Spacious accommodation -Cama double very comfortable -Private bathroom with perfect shower -Extreme cleanliness (daily room service) -Immeasurable location, in the heart of Konya, a few streets from the main attractions -Never with courtesy water -Price -Lunch free buffet included -Probes: -This is a smoking hotel and the hallways smell smoke -Something noisy street, with vehicles and people screaming until late In the afternoon, it is a modern hotel oriented towards business people, very practical and economical.

A modern, budget hotel with a very central location.

We stayed 2 nights in this hotel with our 7-year-old son. The friendly reception and quick check-in. Our room was big enough for 3 people, there were two small double beds, a TV with Turkish chains, the bathroom with shower. There was a leakage of water at the bathroom level. We were moved to the next room on the top floor. There was also a small technical problem in the bathroom but it was quickly fixed. The bed was comfortable and we slept well. From our room we had a view of the Mevlana museum.

Very well located with private parking

I stayed for one night in Konya and needed a cheap hotel. I'm always a little bit nervous going with the cheaper hotels, as I've had bad experiences before, but this was just what I wanted. The room was clean and functional, the shower water was hot (important in a Konya winter!), and it was within walking distance of Konya's main strip with all of its tourist attractions. The breakfast was wonderful, with lots of options and a pretty decent menemen. Staff was kind and helpful, letting me keep my bag there almost all day since I booked a very late bus out of the city.

The only thing that might cause problems is that there didn't seem to be any English speakers working at the reception. This is fine for me as I have passable Turkish, but could be frustrating to someone who doesn't live in Turkey.

All in all, an enjoyable experience and just what I needed to have the best possible experience in Konya.
