Spent a week in Aberdeen, and stayed at this guesthouse the entire week. Spacious room with a lovely view, fridge in the room, everything we needed. The bathroom was not to big though, but that didn`t bother us. Tha landlady is very friendly. Everything was clean and tidy, 
The city centre is at a walking distance, maybe 20 min away, but we downloaded the FirstBus app and bought a week ticket instead. That way we could take any FirstBus anywhere around Aberdeen and that was very convenient for us. There is a small grocerystore down the street to the left when you walk out the front door. 

Cozy guesthouse

I booked this hotel very last minute on Booking.com. As i booked i stated I would not be arriving until late on, between 11pm and midnight due a me having to travel a distance to get there.

A few hours after booking, while on my way I had a phone call from who I assume was the land lady, screaming and screeching down the phone at me. She told me I was due to arrive far too late and her last check in time was 9pm. 

She then told me booking.com do this to her all the time, they accept bookings when people say they are going to arrive late - no idea why or how this is my problem but never mind.

She then proceeded to tell me to hurry up and get there as soon as I could. Thankfully it was pay on arrival and no payment details were taken so i decided to book another hotel nearby and let her stew

When you run a hotel business in a large city with a large airport, bus station, train station you cannot expect people to arrive by 9pm because you want an early night. Not gonna happen love!

I Didn't even arrive!

The room was too small, microwave not working, no bathing soap or private tissue, only one charging point, check in and check out times grossly unfair, the wifi works only at the reception (where you will freeze) and the property took a hell of travel and wondering about to locate. Getting a bus out in the morning was almost impossible, with me having to walk several minutes amidst falling snow. Staff and management need more hospitality training. Reception was poor and the 'breakfast' ridiculous. The place needs serious upgrade for a city such as Aberdeen!

A regrettable stay

Well priced, clean, good location, excellent facilities. I would definetly stay again if I find myself working in Aberdeen again and would recommend to anyone looking for a decent place to stay in the city!

Great place to stay!!

The location of the guest house is around ten minute walk from train and bus stations. Price is quite good if compared to hotels in the area. Breakfast is also included in the price and it's good enough to start the day. Owner was really helpful and understanding when i had to check it really late like at 10 pm. Never had any Problems so definitely consider staying there.

Affordable and good location

Ok - good points - quite clean. Although my room was tiny and difficult to move around in it was well equipped with a kettle, microwave and basin. Also only 15 min walk from town, which isn't too bad in terms of location. Unfortunately my stay was ruined by the behaviour of the landlady, who seemed perfectly nice at first. However, when I came to pay my bill I had to deal with her son (in his twenties), who asked for the sum of £30 per night. Although I realise this is cheap these days, the problem is the landlady had TWICE told me the sum of the room was £28, hence I only had with me the total of £140 for the five nights. I was polite and apologetic about the apparent misunderstanding, but adament about what I'd been told and the son accepted the £140 so all was fine. Imagine my surprise and disappointment then, to receive an angry phone from the landlady the following day accusing me of being 'offensive' , taking advantage of her son while she was not there and causing him worry' and 'making her out to be a liar'!! She ranted on and I couldn't get a word in edgeways so in the end just had to hang up as I really wasn't in the mood for being shouted at for innocently paying what I'd understood to be the correct amount. Obviously I still can't believe this woman thinks this is an acceptable way to conduct her business or deal with people in general, and I was left feeling incredibly disappointed by the whole experience despite having found my stay reasonably comfortable. Of course now I'd never want to stay there again, and would offer the same advice to others. There are a multitude of better b&bs in Bon Accord Street - I'd suggest avoiding this one with its nutty family like the plague.
