In Hemingway room which is at the back on the first floor. Comfy king size bed, good sized TV and little fridge. Good shower. Very good breakfast. Steep stairs for anyone with walking/balance problems but there is a ground floor room.

Stayed two nights

Came for a couple of nights for a family party locally, needing three bedrooms. Sue was very flexible and hospitable, with toys brought out to entertain our two youngsters, extra mattress for a little one, and the run of the lounge throughout our stay. She accommodated late arrivals, helped with parking, managed breakfast for us when we all descended together - all without any hassle or hint of grumble! Lovely fresh fruit salad to start our breakfasts and nicely cooked "English" to follow, extra coffee when needed. We knew about the steep stairs but we all (kids included) managed easily. Can't fault anything and will keep our fingers crossed that she has spaces when we next need a stay in Alsager!

Been before - pleased to stay again

Beautiful rooms, spotlessly clean and lovely hosts.  Superb breakfast and nothing at all to fault.  Can’t recommend more highly. Would definitely stay again if returning to the area. Ideal location too. Best wishes Julia

We stayed at the mere for one night well visiting Alsager
The b&b is very clean and run by very nice staff
The breakfast was cooked fresh no buffet style and was very nice
The mere is very well located close to really nice restaurant chineses Italian Indian and steak houses
There are several local pubs we had a beer at the lodge this is a nice find once again staff very friendly

Ideal b&b

We were in the Fitzgerald room on the ground floor. The room appeared clean however it was very tired considering it was 'refurbished in 2015'. The brown carpet was disintegrating with lumps and bumps underneath. When you got out of bed you stood on these. There was a round rug in the middle of the room, we presume to hide the rest of the carpet ( we were told on leaving there had been a plumbing problem and the floor had had to be lifted to cure this, but they were unaware of any lumps and bumps.) The room had damp mould in the right hand corner above the tea making facilities. The vintage wardrobe was levelled with mats. The patterned decorative dressing across the bottom of the bed was stained but clean. When we pulled it off to get into bed 2 large spiders came out with it! The shower room was tired, there was a 40mm gap at the bottom of the badly varnished door( most of the glass was covered in over spray.) the radiator was rusting and the floor which was painted white floorboards, shed paint when you walked on it. The hot water tap dribbled water eventually. The shower was good except the drainage was poor. My husband tried to clear the drain but it wasn't good. ( when we stepped out of the shower brown flecks from the carpet and white paint from the floor were left after the shower tray had drained.
Patio doors to the overgrown, weedy garden which I'm sure once looked like the picture. 
The cooked breakfast was excellent, as was the fruit salad. However as a vegan I had toast and jam, several pots to choose rom and dishes to spoon individual portions in. However of the 2 types of marmalade one had a thin white mould coating and the other had butter in. I opened a new pot of jam which was nice. Coffee excellent as was the tea. Orange juice very good. However the chairs are in need of repair as the joints are loose in the 4 we used over the 2 days. Better decorated room in general but do look at the quirky angle of the radiator. 
A couple of local restaurants give a discount if you use them mentioning the b&b name - we went to the Italian it was excellent.
Access to property on main road, so reverse in if possible.
We understand the property is for sale due to ill health, and maybe that is why the rooms we experienced were so tired. We understand from other users that the rooms upstairs are in a far better condition. So, we wish the proprietors well in there retirement, and in the interim travellers don't book the Fitzgerald room.

What a beautiful B & B.
From the gorgeous hanging baskets outside the property to the cosy and comfortable room.
We had the F Scott Fitzgerald bedroom..very quirky, great artwork and furniture. The large bed was comfy and roomy.
Bathroom had  a great shower, lovely fluffy white towels, flannels etc.
Tea and coffee with biscuits..yum. TV. Free WIFI. 
And as fab view into the garden.
Sue and her husband made us feel very welcome and made us a scrumptious breakfast. Serials, yogurts, fresh fruit salad and juice, on top of a cooked breakfast with toast..we were happy with full tums.

A hidden gem

We stayed just one night at this B&B to break a long journey home. We were given a very warm welcome, a lovely room, spotlessly clean with tea and coffee making facilities. The breakfast was really delicious with ‘eggs straight from the coop’ ! Would highly recommend if you are in the Alsager area!

Lovely B&B

The breakfast is perfection on a plate.  Three sausages, the egg fully cooked with liquid yolk and no chewy bits.  Good quality bacon and freshly prepared toast.  There was a rumour of a squished piece of fruit in the generous fruit bowl, but I didn’t see it.
