The Chequers Inn

Very dated with bedding and towels that should be in a museum. Room could be so much nice and appealing with out much spend, just needs a fluffy white duvet and pillows. Bathroom is poor, shower spreads all over the floor due to antique shower curtain! No shower gel so had to use hand wash. Could be so much more inviting. If I were the owners I’d spend 1 night in there as a guest.

Will do when the night gets on and there's no where else to go. Wouldn't recommended when other places in the area are still open, not the classiest vibes. Haven't seen the rooms so can't speak to staying overnight.

Pleasant stay for my wife and I.Welcoming Staff,especially  Larisa was rally helpful.Breakfast was extra but really good. We went to London so the location close to the train station was a plus. Thank you

Was there 4 nights. Night 1 , kettle, tea etc but no mug or spoon - or glass for water. Window didn’t open and no ventilation even in the bathroom. Room very noisy with people and plumbing. Day 2, still no mug or glass, obviously no housekeeping visit, noticed there was no bin in the room. Day 3, very humid so very bad sleep with no fresh air, woke up for work on time and nearly late as some duckhead had blocked in my car in, had to move heavy barrel to get car out as well go across a verge and down a curb in heavy rain. Big car park and not full, drunk driver? Day 4, order food, sit down and get asked to move as all tables are to be used for a poker night. Absolutely not worth £100 a night and won’t be coming back. Would have given 0 stars but the staff were helpful and friendly. I travel a lot for businesses and this is one of the worst.

Nice staff but terrible hotel

Another nice, short stay at The Chequers. The room had a cosy feel and has all the basics you need for a brief stay. WiFi is patchy, but there is a large TV to keep you occupied. Very handy for the railway station and close to the shops. Didn't eat or drink in the pub as it was another flying visit, but the staff were friendly, as always, and the room was comfortable and quiet. Thank you, we will be back again.

Return visit to this characterful building in excellent location

I've stayed here twice now as I was working in the Tesco extra the staff are very nice the food and service is great could fault the room single and double bed and en-suite very clean and tidy also it's part an pub with a beer garden serving food all day very reasonable too ! I'm sure I will be returning here in the future thanks very much for a lovely stay

Great stay here good pub food too

Had a lovely 3 night stay at The Chequers Inn. Very clean twin room with good basic amenities of a TV, kettle, teas/coffees/toiletries, and a power socket. The staff were lovely and friendly, and always happy to help with any queries. Only used the room as a base, so didn't frequent the pub itself, but it had everything you would need for a comfortable short stay if you're sightseeing in The Chilterns. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely short stay at The Chequers Inn

I booked 1 room via the telephone , over 3 months ago . I called to confirm the day before travelling . on arrival i was informed there was no booking for me . I even called the phone number as i stood their . It rang and was answered by a lady . They still insisted i had no booking. Customer service not at this establishment .

Do not use this B&B

Good food,clean b&b,convinient location.stayed in the family room. 10min walking from the tube station.tons of flowers in the beer garden. We coming regularly to amersham so definitely will be back.regards Elena

Excellent location B&B. Basic, clean and good value for money. We booked 3 rooms for our family gathering and couldn't get a better service. Owners were very considerate for our needs.TV in one of the rooms didn't work on arrival but replaced later in the day. We will use them again
