Went on Saturday for lunch to try the 24oz sharing Sirloin. It was everything I had hoped for,pink and melted in the mouth and was a treat not matched before. It was first class in every way from the service to the choice of drinks.

A class act for food

The water stopped in the middle of a shower. I ordered steak three days running, first day was over cooked, second day fine, third day undercooked. Over three days I was charged for 32 pints of beer, and there’s no way I could have drunk them all. No point in complaining to the manager, he’s not in the least bit interested and actually walked off while I was trying to get him to look into a problem.

Many problems, manager couldn’t care less.

Large, well furnished rooms. Very helpful staff. There were 2 problems:
In Room 4, there is a loud hum from a boiler in the adjoining utility room, 24/7.
The water in the shower was either a weak, lukewarm  trickle or a forceful gush of dangerously scorching water. I mentioned it to a member of staff who said, the bloke in Room 2 has got no water at all!
Unable to wash my hair, I had to pop out to a local hairdresser. 
This place seems popular, but the above problems need sorting out.

Avoid Room  4

We stayed here one night as we headed southwards and made the most of booking a table in the restaurant. We enjoyed our meal, sharing a delicious starter of mushrooms and then selecting our personal preferences. 
The bedroom was clean and comfortable, with all the basic amenities. Despite being above the pub and on the main road, the room wasn't noisy. We wouldn't hesitate to come back to this address.

I would have liked to have left a better review than this,  but don’t feel I can.  We stayed in room 4 on the night before my daughter’s wedding and we had only a few hours sleep due to a humming noise continually through the night.  We complained in the morning and the staff on duty were able to allocated us a different room for the night of the wedding, but the damage was done and myself as mother of the bride was absolutely exhausted, I broke down in tears in fact trying to explain to the staff how I was feeling,  They were very apologetic and as said above they arrange a different room for the second night.  I have emailed the landlord twice now about this and he has chosen not even to acknowledge my emails.  So very very disappointed and would not recommend staying her whatsoever,  Having said that, the breakfast was nicely presented on hot plates. If you do decide to stay here avoid room 4.  We were advised by the staff we spoke to that we were next to the laundry room and a heating system, or boiler, whatever, was left on all night when it should have been turned off.

Worst Night’s Sleep EVER!

Visited for Sunday lunch last week - Booking is advisable. 3 course Sunday lunch for £19.50! 
This was one of the best Sunday lunches we have had when eating out! Food quality, service, value for money all excellent. Will definitely be back and have already recommended the many people. Lovely enjoyable afternoon.

Dropped in for lunch with my elderly father having found this place after the cafe we intended to visit was closed. Good casual food (we had sandwiches with chips and salad, beautifully presented, tasty, and reasonable value, plus good coffee). Very nice welcome from the young guy behind the bar, who provided excellent, friendly, smiling service. It was quiet (a Friday lunchtime just in early January) but that's what we were hoping for and there was a pleasant atmosphere. Found it by accident, but will be back. 

Excellent, friendly service, good food

We were holidaying in Brigg and wanted to go for a meal with the “whole” family. To us this means our dogs. We were told about The George by staff at Brigg Marina. We had a fabulous meal and seriously impressed with the “Dog Menu”. Our pooches thoroughly enjoyed their roast chicken dinner, ( at £3:50 absolute bargain and a donation is given to a local dog rescue). Food all round was excellent! Steaks fabulous, scallops amazing! Staff were great fun and very efficient.

Somewhere for the “Whole” family

Room was cold woke up at 1.30 went to make a cup of tea, no milk.  I got up to find water coming in from the window it was pouring down, absolutely dreadful. I spoke to staff next morning they apologise that there was no milk she had forgotten to fill the tray, I was in the old part of the hotel they are doing it up.

Just dreadful

We came here completely by chance as we were looking for a dog friendly pub. How lucky we were! We ordered the 3 plates and chips for 19.50- we ordered six in total. All amazing! Brisket, halloumi, mussels, asparagus, hummus, Brie. We also ordered a little dinner for our puppy who loved it. Gorgeous interior, friendly service. Highly recommend!
