Truly dismal place - almost the antithesis of what you would want from a pub. Blindingly bright light with bare white walls - more like being in a surgical ward than a snug, cosy boozer. The ONLY "decoration" is the fruit machine flashing by the door. Unfriendly landlord. Went here on a pub crawl of fifteen Bedford pubs and this was the only one we gave zero stars to - I can't imagine how this pub is still in business.

Worst pub in Bedford (or even the UK?)

Most inhospitable pub I have ever been in. Tension from the so called “landlords” hawk like eyes were enough to say “your not welcome here” and that’s how we felt. Poor selection of beers, miserable staff, god only knows what the rooms must be like! If your silly enough to book a room then seven blessings to you sister!

DO NOT GO HERE !

attended a wake there last week, food abysmal, dirty surroundings, only stayed an hour and on leaving I stumbled and the landlady said " I hope she is not driving home", this despite my only having had 2 cups of black tea .I always thought the landlords kept an eye on what their  customers were imbibing!!. Never again!

We booked to stay at The Mill but unfortunately due to an illness in the family we had to cancel.
We emailed the hotel 24 hours In advance to apologise but received no response and they took the full fee.

A response to say ‘ unfortunately it’s not policy’ or a a credit note of some form wouldn’t have gone amiss but we received nothing! Not even a why didn’t you show?

Anyway, valuable lesson learned and won’t book a hotel with a non cancellation clause even for emergencies!


Poor Customer Service 

Just spent the week here and I can honestly say it's faultless. Harry the owner is such a lovely guy is very polite and can poor a lovely pint! Filled with the best of the locals who are so calm and friendly. The beds are very comfortable and the price is incredible, if you're considering it just give it a chance you will not be disappointed. 10/10 with no doubt.

I booked a 1 night stay at the mill as i had to attend a course near by. When booking i left a message stating that i would be arriving a little late due to work and asked if this would be a problem. I heard nothing back so assumed all would be ok. I called the mill en route to give an eta and was told that they were going to close the bar when the last person had finished their drinks and that they would NOT wait for me. I asked if there was anywhere else i might try? All i got " im not from round here. No idea"  Very unproffessional and left me stranded in milton keynes with nowhere to stay. 
Id advise people to think twice about booking here, unhelpfull staff who obviously dont give a damn about their customers and would happily leave you on the street with nowhere to go.

This hotel is right in the middle of the town and is typically one of the cheapest in the area. Parking is not an issue as there is free street parking from 6pm to 8am (obviously this could change). Staff are friendly. Decor is a little tired with scuffs on the walls, threadbare sections of carpet, dirty light pull cords and mouldy grout. The shared bathrooms bring all the usual fun that goes with that including having to clean the bath before you use it, seeing men in their underpants wandering the corridor and waiting for the only female toilet to become free. The area can be quite noisy: I was woken by all sorts of things at antisocial hours including a burglar alarm, drunks below the window, music from the bar and noisy guests. Make sure you ask for the wifi code when you check in and take your own toiletries as only hand wash is provided. The cold tap in my room was almost impossible to turn off and had to be run for a bit as very hot water came out initially.

Centrally located and a good price

A gentleman with a very pleasant attendance and a very understandable English (and I'm no expert in it).The room was very comfortable and quiet.For me it's a favourable point that the hotel has a bar on the ground floor, you could have a pint before you leave.It's next to the Bedford party area without the noise bothering you.
