Staying at Number One is like staying with friends. Neil and Sarah are so friendly and welcoming, and their beautiful cheerful house is nothing but a pleasure for the tired visitor. Parking on the road was no problem, with a permit from Neil. Communal breakfast around the family table, next to the open fire (fire guard in place) was a fun experience. No more than 5 mins walk into town.

Home from home in Beverley

A wonderfully quirky B&B that makes you feel immediatley at home. The rooms are big, comfortable and clean. Neil and Sarah are so welcoming and make every effort to make it a lovely stay with a wonderful breakfast and a relaxed atmosphere. They even let us look at their amazing collection of books which was a truly special treat! 
Just a 2 min walk from Beverley centre where there was an impressive selection of shops and places to eat I would definitely recommend Number one as a fantastic place to stay.

A lovely stay!

Really enjoyed our stay here. We only stayed one night on a Saturday to Sunday. We were met by Neil who was a great host. As they hadn't had anyone stopping in our room the night before, we were able to book in and go to our room at 10.00am which was good.

We had an ensuite room which had plenty of room, although there wasn't much room to hang clothes, but that didn't bother us for one night. The bed was very comfortable and clean. 

The B&B is very quirky, Neil and Sarah have books, pictures and ornamants plenty and it makes for a very pleasant home. 

The best bit about our stay was definitely the breakfast cooked by Sarah. We had a choice of when to have it. There was a selection of cereals and some fresh fruit and prunes, plus nuts. We had a choice of a full English breakfast or kippers. We had a full English which was plentiful and set us on our day. The food was very good quality and well cooked.

The B&B just loses a star as there were cobwebs high up on room. It wasn't a problem but shouldn't have been missed when cleaning. Everything else was clean.

If you want a different experience, rather than a bland hotel room I'd certainly recommend this B&B.

Lovely B&B

We stayed here as it was the house my wife’s Great Grandfather built so we thought it would be good to have the historical Family connection for our stay in Beverley. 

We were so glad we did as the house is simply gorgeous, really old fashioned but also very well kept and maintained. Family Photos adorn almost every wall space which I can imagine some people wouldn’t maybe like but I thought it added a great personal and family home touch. 

The room we had was quite large with plenty of wardrobe and drawer space, a decent and very comfortable double bed, basic tea and coffee making facilities and a small tv; all of which was perfectly adequate for our stay. 

We had a shared bathroom and toilet which was just across the corridor, both facilities were very clean and well kept, the bathroom coming with a decent range of towels, shower gel and shampoo. 

One of the main things we lived about this place was that it’s dog friendly providing the hounds stay off the bed which is a perfectly reasonable request I think. There is a decent garden for the dogs to go to the toilet in. 

The only issue as a whole with this place is the car parking, the owner very kindly allowed us to park in the drive adjoining her garden but due to the size of my car it meant we couldn’t get the gates closed; whilst the owner was happy with this we instead decided to park in the market square in the centre of Beverley and enjoy the short walk back to the accommodation. 

Parking at this time of year there is free so we incurred no additional cost however parking is a issue for this place, but as far as I can see it is the only minor issue you will face. 

Breakfast was included in the price and what a breakfast it was! Excellent quality and the owners were extremely good hosts, the quality of the full English breakfast was excellent; there was also a very good selection of extras including fresh fruit, cereals and toast was also offered at will with a selection of jams and marmalade. The coffee was also very good, fresh orange and apple juice was also on offer. 

There is free Wi-fi available with the code being on the cover of the welcome booklet in the room, a selection of leaflets also lets you know what is going on locally. 

Based on this experience we will certainly be staying here again in future, the owners are excellent, the heating was on making the room warm and welcoming and we had an excellent experience. I can’t recommend this place enough! 



Great Bed & Breakfast! 

Comfortable room, quiet for a good sleep; characterful house in a lovely garden moments from the town centre, charming and helpful hosts, parking, great breakfast. My second visit here after 40 years visiting Nellies.  When the Beverley Arms refurbishment is finally complete it will no doubt be fabulous - but now I'll probably continue to stay here.
