Not a terrible spot but definitely room for improvement and some things to note for future guests. 

Pros 
- Quaint little room

- Very cheap 

- Cheap parking (£8 per night when ur not stopping there) 

- Lot of people have said the room was cold, but we had a little heater which made it nice and toastie (would still bring warm pjs)

Cons 
-Bathroom wasn’t great, something was leaking which made the floor wet all the time 

-shower worked well first time I used it, second time nothing but freezing cold water 

-General wear and tear of bathroom needs sorting and a bloody good clean! 

- Bed was on the smaller size 

- someone had left something I can only describe as a wet cloth on one of the steps going up to the rooms which had frozen in the cold weather- extreme safety hazard! 

- Doors stuck and we’re loud could hear people come and go in the night.

Overall not a terrible stay, but for the price wasn’t bad. 

If your going to the airport use Associated Taxis we’re by far the cheapest I could find. Charged £18 to get to the airport then you pay another £7 to get dropped off outside airport. (Uber was charging £44+)

You get what you pay for…

The bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned between multiple guests. It was still wet from someone else having a shower. There was hair all over the floor and sink and toilet seat. The bin was overflowing and the whole room stank of the black mold on the walls and in the shower. 

Filthy

Worst hotel experience in my life. I left before dawn! Filthy room, dirty tissues under the bed, hair, pubes, dust, dirt, splatter on all surfaces. Icy showers that never heated up. Scummy layer on water in kettle. Dirty cup and spoon next to kettle. Stained bedding & towels. Suspicious brown smear on towel. I called every contact number for over an hour but got no response to calls. I'm germophobic and could not sleep in such a visibly uncleaned, filthy place.  The other guests were heard clearly as there is no form of soundproofing, the front door banging is unsettling.
Save your money and go literally anywhere else. I feel robbed. I've had zero response from management to my messages and many photos documenting the shocking level of grime. Do yourself a favour and warn anyone flying from Stansted never to stay here!

Disgustingly filthy room, cold showers, zero response from management, do not stay here! You'll catch something!

Got to be one of the worse places I've ever stayed in. The room was damp, cold, no hot running water or cold in the wash basins. No heat in the bathroom. Windows mouldy and cracked. All in all abysmal.
A family arrived in the small hours and were very noisy as well.
Only thing it had going for it was it was cheap and location. And I stayed 1 night. But next time I'll pay extra and stay somewhere else.
Booked this through air bnb. Be careful folks. Not a brill place 😕 

Fawlty Towers 2nd place.

After an epic flight disaster,  arriving into Stansted after midnight, The Green Man was a nearby, cheap, clean option with endless blessed hot water. I was coming from overseas with no SIM and was able to sort out gaining access by following their very precise instructions. It was like an escape room with different codes and buttons. Slept like the dead in cozy if tiny room. Just don't be a madman like me and decide to walk from the airport at midnight. The following day I was able to catch a bus right out front to the airport for two pounds. All round good bang for your buck. I was bummed I didn't get to try their cozy pub and nice looking Thai food. Next time.

Good one nighter for last minute stay

After Reading the Reviews i was Dreading my Stay , As a Buisness Traveller i stay in lots of hotels weekly  booked by my company , I do feel some of the reviews are a little Harsh but i do see some points are valid so heres an honest Opinion ,Yes the Self check is not everyones cup of tea but was fine by me , Car park could do with better lighting and The stairs outside  need lighting and not sure about the artificial  grass on the steps , The entrance and corridor is Drab and tired looking  so a little work on this would certainly improve Appearance massiveley
The Room itself was Lovely and warm infact i turned the Radiators down and the corridors were lovely and warm
Not sure about the metal frame bed  and mattress certainly seen better days  but the Bedding i found to be clean and unlike some reviews i thought the Towels were nice clean and fresh 
Shower was Lovely and Hot  with plenty shampoo body wash and conditioner 
i Think with a Little money spent on the Furniture  and better lighting rather than drab chandeliers these rooms could be  much more inviting 
Yes Its noisy with traffic  as its on a main road.And some nice curtains or Blinds instead of wooden shutters would make a big difference  
Plenty plugs and couple of usb chargers all good 

All in all i think with a little tlc and rooms having a little money spent on them they could have a little goldmine which they could reflect in the price 

Not as Bad as Some of the Reviews state ..

I stayed in Room number one.
Quite hard to move around the room. Bathroom was really nice, nice shower and really clean. Floor was tilted and i found hard to find a place for my lugagge, as you only have a tiny desk where you can place a small bag. At night, it was really noisy, and i found hard to sleep for more than 2 hours straight. Nice spider webs on the ceiling.

Good enough for one night sleep.

I would not recommend this place- we arrived about 7 at night, narrow accessway to park car at rear of a closed down Thai Restaurant - dimly lit area.  A set of steep and wet steps (which I think had fake grass on them!!)  to the accommodation, which had no working lighting on the stairs that we could find. We let ourselves in with the key code, found our room - to be fair it was in the main clean, presented well - but the mattress & bed were just awful - god only knows how many people had slept on it - had the worse nights sleep ever. The shower was adequate, hit and miss with the water - towels were ok.  The smoke alarm kept bleeping, when we called the number  -  they told me to take the batteries out - which I said probably wasn't the mot sensible thing I've been told to do in a hotel (lady on the phone was pleasant enough though), we went out to diner and they sent "maintenance" who simply removed it!!! To be honest we should have just left, but it was late by then and we had an early flight so we stayed but did not sleep at all.  I would avoid, there are lots of much better hotels near the airport and I'm struggling to see how they could even call this a hotel as it had 5 rooms, over the top of a closed Thai Restaurant, which was in a very old building.  The pictures do not represent the accommodation at all in my opinion.

Avoid

Entrance to this so-called boutique hotel was by an outside staircase covered in that false  grass at the back of a building.
Self check in to main door via key code – not good. Self check into room via key code - even worse and I had to knock on the door of an adjacent room in order for some help to get it in. Room was extremely small and it smelt so musty. The radiators did not work efficiently and were on for about an hour. They did not give you any breakfast or any means of making it yourself. The room was not made up for my second night. The bed felt as if at least 1000 people had slept on it.  The only way of contacting the owners was by WhatsApp messaging. I asked for a hairdryer and to be fair it did arrive the following morning whilst I was out. Why the room could not have been cleaned and the bed made then I have no idea.

I would certainly not recommend.

Disappointing

Self check in. Impossible to contact anyone. The room was nice but not warm enough. Used the WhatsApp messaging to ask about heating -  as suggested by hosts -,at 8.30 received reply at 11.15. Tried to book a table in the Thai downstairs- left a message at 7 never replied. Spooky experience. Left me unsettled. Not recommended for single female travelers . What happens in an emergency?! Boutique Hotel NOT
