I was warmly met by Charlie and Iain on my arrival and was wowed by their establishment. 

The room was beautifully presented with crisp clean bedding. The house looked as if it had been newly renovated and was immaculate. The shower was great with good strong pressure and clean appliances.

Brechin town is a short walk away and their BnB would be a superb base for a week or a few days exploring the Scottish Glen’s.

I would definitely stay here again.

This time I had come alone, but next time I would bring my wife as I would love her to see the building.

Breakfast was outstanding. Compliments to Iain (who appeared to be the chef, while Charlie did a magnificent job as front of house) for a wonderful spread.
The food was perfectly cooked, came very quickly and was lovely and hot. 

I thoroughly recommend the Townhead BnB.


Beautiful building in outstanding location 

First off : if you're coming to the Townhead by car from Distillery Road (that's the way my satnav guided me in), be aware, it's a narrow road. I'm surprised it's not a one way street.

The accommodation itself : the immediate impression is 'spacious'. My room (single occupancy of a double room) - good drawer space, slightly limited hanging space (but definitely sufficient for my short stay), easy chair, and two single beds placed together. It would have been nice to have had a desk at which to work on the laptop, but that would have been at the expense of some of that space, or the easy chair - it's a trade-off. TV ... *excellent* high-speed wifi (I was able to back up all my holiday pictures in the cloud in a matter of minutes) ... en-suite shower and toilet ... biscuits and toffees ... coffee and tea, with the (fresh) milk in the breakfast room next door ... plenty of local information in the room.

Breakfast : selected the day before, with fruit, fruit juice and cereal as well as the cooked breakfast options. There were alternative options, e.g. pancakes, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs (I think ... I'm quoting from memory there).

Verdict : I'd have liked that desk, but as I say, it's a trade-off, and I did enjoy the space and the easy chair. Definitely OK for my short stay.

A good base for a visit to the area

Great place to stay, lovely people. Rooms are very nice and the breakfast is amazing ! Highly recommend to vist this place. Area is peacefull and great to visit as well. You won't regret it when you visit Brechin

Great place

We had a great time visiting places around Brechin were we first met 25 years ago.  Townhead B&B was a great place to start out from daily after a hearty breakfast.  Charlie and Ian are wonderful hosts and full o local knowledge.  Definitely a great place to stay if you visit the area,

Great place to stay.

I stayed recently in a single room as was visiting family. From the initial greeting to when I left I was made to feel very welcome by the friendly host and was really pleased with the actual house. Everything was immaculate! I ordered my breakfast the night before and there was a vast choice. I ordered some items from the Scottish breakfast menu and I can confidently say it's the nicest breakfast I've ever had. I'm fussy in that I like a plate of food to look neat which it was (as you'll see from my picture, which I mistakenly missed off the perfectly cooked poached egg and toast). I would highly recommend this lovely, friendly, clean place and I'm hoping there's a vacancy next time I return. Thank you Townhead.

Faultless

Nice, comfortable, clean room. Great, abundant breakfast. In the evening, you'll choose, in addition to the base of butter and marmalade cereals, a choice between pancakes with syrup, scrambled eggs, sausages, etc., or sweet things. A kindly owner who will explain everything to you. There's a boiler in the room with tea bags and some cookies. If you go over there, I recommend it!

It's very comfortable.

The host was really gentle and always available for your needs. The room was so clean, tidy and cozy. The private bathroom perfectly in order and clean. Breakfast was the best of the stay, multiple choices from a number of options also for vegetarians. I really advice to take in consideration this wonderful B&B if you decide to visit the surroundings or pass the night here before continuing your Scotland tour.

Exquisite

The B&B consists of 5 very nice rooms. Everything has been lovingly renovated and furnished by the owners and operators Charlie and Ian. The rooms are very clean and decorated with love. We felt very comfortable during our vacation. The rooms include a living room and a kitchen that you can use. The breakfast can be ordered individually, everything was very tasty, fresh and prepared with love and skill. We would like to recommend this B&B and give it 5 stars!!!

Great holiday in an awesome B&B

This was the best B&B we've had on our trip!!! Very nice operators, tastefully furnished, great bathroom, great room, clean, beautiful garden with barbecue area and a kitchen to use. There really was nothing missing...even bathing suits and one-way pants were available. Besides coffee and many kinds of teas, there were toffees and scones. Absolutely class!!!

Holidays

We just got back and we can't help but recommend this B&B: nice, clean and tidy. The rooms with the private bathroom are cozy in the smallest detail and the owners are wonderful for their hospitality! Of course breakfast is definitely worth mentioning too: excellent and with a wide choice between the Scottish one is the continental one!!! We spent several days feeling at home 😉
