Well appointed, very comfortable bedroom and bathroom, friendly, helpful staff, excellent evening restaurant menu, breakfast menu a little limited (and pricey...they might be better off with a help-yourself, fixed price buffet)...but a great place to stay. We'll book again when next in the area.

Comfortable rooms at The Buxted Inn

We booked this hotel for its location as super close to the train station so really convenient there.
The staff who checked us in were helpful and friendly.
Unfortunately the main hallway smells a bit, and our room wasn't great. Very small and very hot; it wasn't possible to open the window the whole way as it has a type of lock on it. The bathroom is also very small with no extras such as shampoo etc (considering the price they could have included more). Also some stains on walls so not that clean.
The worst part unfortunately is the thin walls; I could hear a guest  snoring in another room so I wasn't able to sleep at all which was unfortunate as the bed was comfortable.
We were told if we needed any extra tea, coffee, water etc to just ask. On checking out I asked for two bottles of water which I had forgotten to ask for earlier for which we were charged. Again with the prices being charged for the room I thought this was a bit unfair.
Breakfast was delicious though and service very nice.
Overall though I think the price is excessive for what is offered as there seems to be a captive market based on location.

One word - excellent.
Lovely evening meal, food was delicious, staff were great, atmosphere was warm and cozy. Couldn't ask for more - had a really superb evening with you. 
Highly recommend.

Evening meal

Conveniently located for the train station, this hotel appeared to well run.  We had a modern room with a comfortable bed (although the pillows were not the most comfortable we have experienced) and a top quality breakfast served by the landlord.  Recommended.

Quality Stay

FEELING: Great value for money.

CONS : Unfortunately we had a bad mattress and very springy (maybe it was past it’s better days).

PROS : 
Great place, very clean, attentive staff, plenty of onsite parking, lovely garden sitting area and food was delicious 😋. The room was big and had a lot of smart controls (shower, room service etc).

Great Nights Stay

Stayed for 1 night with family.... never again.

Shower broke in one of the rooms. 

2nd room shower door was broken and was replaced with a shower curtain, annoyingly stuck to your body as you showered in the extremely small shower.

Plug socket didn't work

Uncomfortable beds, unclean rooms.... 

I recommend staying at the Premier Inn in Uckfield.

Bad facilities, terrible customer service

Stayed here during the power cut after Storm Eunice.  Booked a room as requested for our family to reserve a space. On arrival was corned at the bar to pay for the two rooms we were staying at. Paid no attention  at the time as it as a fairly stressful time. Stupidly put our trust in the slime bag who was interested in nothing but our money. The nights stay was awful, rooms was dirty,  down stairs smelled lile stale cheese, Beds were old and uncomfortable. Pillows were as flat as Amsterdam. Shower didn't work, fire alarms going off all night. Terrible. After looking at my CC bill 3 weeks later to start our UKPN claim realised that The Buxted Inn charged us for 3 rooms. Thought it would be a simple case of requesting a refund for the room we never used but no. Nick "The Chef" in the most arrogant manner says its our problem and won't refund. I'm completely bemused by his behaviour and amazed that anyone eats and drinks in this place. We came for dinner pre coivd and it was awful. Atmosphere of a morgue, food was terrible. The decor inside is pure chince. Explained to this Pratt Nick that we live round the corner and will make this our new local.. Let the battle of the £80 that i will get back and give to the local homeless charity begin.. I'll have fun with this.

Terrible Hotel

My husband and I were looking for somewhere close to Uckfield to stop for a night and really liked the look of Buxted Inn. We were really impressed with the friendliness of the staff who made us feel really welcome and showed us to our room. It was a lovely room, very clean and tidy and the most comfortable bed I have slept in for a hotel. The en-suite was a decent size with a great shower. We could pick our breakfast time the following morning and the full English was amazing. We stayed on a Sunday night so the only downside was they didn’t serve evening meals, but we were directed to the White Hart just a few minutes away which served a really nice menu. Would definitely stay here again.

Lovely place, friendly staff, great food

I can’t speak more highly of our recent stay at the Buxted Inn for our friends’ wedding in February. Have to hold our hands up to often booking with chains for UK stays or one off nights prior to events/ flights, but so pleased we didn’t on this occasion, looked at reviews and booked here. It was really close to the station and the wedding venue. We were warmly welcomed when we got there and shown up to our room, and then pleasantly surprised that there was a table we could have downstairs at the restaurant for shortly after we arrived (will review that on the restaurant page but if you’re staying you HAVE to visit, the food is lush!). The room was cosy, clean, perfect for a couple with a very comfy bed, tea and coffee making facilities, a good TV and a shower nicer than ours at home! The team were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Looking for an excuse to come back and stay again quite frankly!

Looking for an excuse to pop back for a night!

Booked as a group to stay the night before a wedding nearby. A good nights sleep was essential for us all but sadly impossible. 
On the face of it the Buxted Inn is a very stylish B&B, it looks lovely and there were some nice touches, such as the mugs in the bedroom but sadly it failed to deliver us any comfort. I can’t comment on the food as despite us all booking bed and 
breakfast they were refurbishing the kitchen which seemed a very strange decision timing wise.
So all I have to go on is the stay and it was not good.
The rooms were stifling hot, the mattress was thin  and the pillows even thinner. However, the worst part of Room 8 was the banging from the awning outside. It was windy but it shouldn’t bang like that. It was impossible to sleep properly and I spent a lot of time thinking someone was banging on the doors before figuring out Where the noise was coming from. 
I booked a B&B but sadly The Buxted Inn failed to deliver either.
