Stayed at Y Gwynedd Bar and Diner for 2 nights as my friend and I wanted to walk up Snowdon, this was an excellent location and only a short walk to the start of the Llanberis path. Rooms look new and after our walk I had a very good nights sleep. My room was located above the bar but I didn't find any issues with noise. We had one meal in the restaurant and the food was lovely, followed by a few pints in the bar watching the football. Good Covid safety measures in place. Also in the area we visited the Ceunant Mawr Waterfall which was very pretty and in a great quite spot away from everything. A very good experience for our first time visiting North Wales!

Excellent location for walking Snowdon

We enjoy a lot our dinner! Food was excellent, my partner chose the lamb, and it was a wise choice, the best lamb he has ever tried. Hannah, who served us over the night, was charming. I would recommend it to anyone that comes to Llanberis.

Good dinner!

Please be aware that this is located directly above a very noisy rowdy pub, with no hotel staff to manage guest behaviour throughout the night. Unfortunately this resulted in loud shouting and banging well into the early hours of the morning for every night of our stay. If you are hoping to get up early to climb Snowdon would not recommend staying here as we couldn’t get to sleep until past 3am when the noise started to calm down. On a more positive note great location and friendly staff in pub below hotel. Room was clean and tidy, although very basic facilities for the price.

Noisy and disruptive

Lovely meal and warm, friendly service from Neil. Tasty food, large portions and very good value for money. Nice clean high chair for babies and plenty of options for kids meals too. Will definitely be back again. Diolch!

Great food

Came last September for 4 nights.
Very easy to find & parked less than a minute away. Parking was always easy when we’d been out.
Check in was contactless, keys were outside room. Room wasn’t massive but had everything we needed. It was very very clean and looked like a new shower room and toilet. Beds were very comfy.
Tea and coffee bits were just outside the room so we could grab more whenever we needed it.
There were enough cafes pubs & restaurants nearby but not loads so it wasn’t crawling with visitors. 
We did Snowdon (although ended up doing a different path so drove there), a few walks from here including a lovely waterfall 10 mins walk away and also went paddling on the lake.
Would definitely consider returning for a cheap stay

Great reasonable place to stay

Enjoyed our stay at Y Gwynedd for 2 nights. Right near the Llanberis path for hiking Snowdon so was right where we needed it. Room was clean, staff very friendly and looked after us, highly recommended would stay there again. Restaurant was excellent and tasty food. Great place.

An enjoyable visit

The Y Gwynedd Bunkrooms were a great place to spend a week in wales. Check-in was contactless and worked very well. Our room was a good size with a neat little en-suite bathroom and the bed was entirely adequate (but a bit hard for our liking). 

The hotel doesn't offer food, but the restaurant downstairs is excellent for dinner and should definitely be visited (it's a seperate business and has its own Tripadvisor page). Breakfast can be obtained from local cafe's, or the Spar has an instore bakery for pastries etc.

On-street parking is fairly plentiful in the morning & evening, but very hard to find in the middle of the day (although there are plenty of pay and display car parks which can be used until the streets free up).  

I'd happily stay here again if I was in the area.

Great location in Llanberis

Really friendly staff and great hot food!  A locals pub that’s dog friendly what more could you want after a day walking? Oh yes a drink! They have that covered too with local beer.  We will be back and would highly recommend you go. Not the most  modern of pubs but the food and hospitality certainly make up for it.

Fantastic steak pie

We recently had a family gathering in the Gwynedd. The staff were very welcoming and couldn't do enough. The food was fantastic, I had the steak and it was cooked to perfection 👌. My two girls had sausage and chips and it's safe to say the demolished it.
I would recommend the Gwynedd if you want a welcoming atmosphere and fantastic food 
Thank you again for catering for us, will definitely be coming back for food soon.

Family birthday

Food was great and service was great, very welcoming and they catered to our every need with a smile at all times.
Very nice atmosphere, the beer on tap perfectly chilled and refreshing.
My daughter had an Oreo sundae which was yum
