I can not praise this Guest house more highly! A warm welcome by Sue and Avril upon arrival. We were shown the beautiful fire lit lounge first, which was a welcome sight after being in the car for so long. We were then taken to our room which was beautifully decorated, clean and with stunning views of Loch Fyne.  A lovely cup of coffee and a biscuit and we felt at home. After an extremely comfortable night sleep we woke up to a delicious breakfast and played games in the lounge. Avril gave us directions for a hill walk which had stunning views over the loch and to Inverary. We will definitely be returning and recommending to all our friends and family.

An excellent stay. Wonderful hosts. Gorgeous and plentiful breakfast. Beautiful rooms. The house was lovely and the lounge had a lovely fire which would be lit at night. I would highly recommend and we will definitely be back.  Loved the local restaurant Samphire in Inverary. Thank you

Wonderful

We arrived early to a warm welcome from our host Sue. Sue offered us a selection of rooms. followed by a cup of tea, cake and bikkies. Our room was very comfortable. The selection for breakfast was vast and tasted great. We had great views of Loch Fyne and Inverary.

My experience with Thistle House was unique as I wasn’t a guest, but rather an unlucky traveler whose car broke down outside this magical safe haven. I honestly don’t know what I would have done if it wasn’t for the generosity and kindness of the family running this B&B. Not only did they allow us to stay on their property while we waited for help, but they also gave us tea and biscuits, and ultimately drove us to a hotel down the rode when we had no other options for the night. Thank you so much to everyone we encountered that night! I hope to come back as a guest someday :) 

A love letter to Thistle House

It's nice to stay in this beautiful house overlooking a beautiful lake, cuddled by Mrs. Sue! Room with superlative views, breakfast prepared on time, chance, with a bit of luck to spot the locusts.

It's a great position.

Over 3 weeks we toured Scotland, staying in a different b&b each night. Thistle House Guest House was by far our favourite.
The warmest welcome, the beautifully deacorated rooms, with so many extras and the amazing views. 
The breakfast, again the best we had in Scotland.
This guest house is PERFECTION <3

Perfection

This was our 3rd stay at Thistle Guest House & the standard of both accommodation & breakfast was as high as ever.  We absolutely love staying there. Sue & Avril are excellent hosts, they go out of their way to make you welcome. 

This trip we stayed in the beautiful Stewart bedroom with view of garden at rear of house, we have also stayed in Campbell & Lamont previously.  Each room is beautifully furnished & decorated. Guests also have use of the beautiful & relaxing downstairs lounge. Breakfast is excellently cooked with a wide range of choices offered. 

The gardens at the guest house are gorgeous with great views across Loch Fyne to Inveraray & the castle there. All in all Thistle Guest House is perfection. 

Thankyou Sue & Avril, we are looking forward to our next visit.



Perfect B&B

Upon arrival you just know you are going to have a good stay. A warm welcome with explanation of facilities and taken to our room. Although our room over looked the garden this was just as lovely as we could watch the chickens and the black and white scottie dogs walk in the garden. The breakfasts were always presented stylishly, were tasteful and always on a hot plate. Avril and Sue worked perfectly together to make sure all courses are served precisely at the right time. The view to Inverary Castle was delightful from the dining room. The use of the lounge facilities to relax in and read were perfect, with a fire lit for those chillier nights.
Avril and Sue were always willing to share their knowledge of the area and provide advice if requested.

Beautifully preserved Victorian house that is nicely decorated. The beds and all of the soft furnishings are really comfortable. Everything has been thought of down to charging points beside bed. Lovey Arran Aromatics products in bathroom/ coal fire in sitting room. Very peaceful location with stunning view over Loch. Breakfast also fantastic. Hosts very friendly and hospitable.

Peaceful, comfortable and relaxing

We were absolutely blown away by Thistle House. This was hands down the most gorgeous bed and breakfast we’ve stayed at. We had the family suite, which turned out to be two adjoining bedrooms and a fully appointed modern bathroom. 
Every detail was lovingly done from the Morris wallpaper to the curtain tassels. 

The old guesthouse has been fully restored with designer attention to every detail from the tartan carpeting to the gorgeous moldings. The spacious living room is perfect for enjoying a relaxing wee dram.

Our host was especially welcoming, giving us the history of the home and attending to any of our needs. In the morning the full Scottish breakfast was cooked to order and the service was incredible. One of the best parts was looking over the loch to see Inveraray Castle gleaming in the sun. Thistle House is truly an idyllic setting!!! 

Also, there were homemade jams, pottery and candles available for purchase for very little poundage- I bought so many gifts to take home!

Our only regret was that we didn’t know about this and had too little time to spend here. Highly recommended. Five stars. My husband and I will most definitely return for an extended stay here!!!!
