Absolutely lovely little hotel. Family ran and the owner is so welcoming. Room was spotless, heating, tv, kettle, all you could need. Two minutes from the station, quick walk to the city centre, over all ideal location. Highly recommend this hotel and I will definitely be staying here again

Birthday celebration

The Lloyds Hotel is an ideal base for a city stay in Chester, since it's very close to the station and on the road that leads right into the city centre; there are pubs, restaurants and grocery shops close by, and yet the hotel itself is very quiet. The staff are lovely and the rooms are comfy, with all amenities like kettle, TV set, central heating and en suite bathroom (which isn't as small as some people insist!); great value for money!

A great base for exploring Chester

Great staff who are very happy to help and are very chatty too. Good rooms were clean and tidy with folded towels. They can hold your bags on the day you checkout and there are lots of places of interest within a 10 minute walk of the hotel.

Holiday stay

Hotels in Chester seem very expensive at the moment. Lloyds of Chester is certainly a reasonable option. It’s near the train station and a 10-15 minute walk into the historic town. It’s clean but to be honest it’s a bit shoddy and tired.
The name makes it sound classy. It isn’t. It kept us however warm and dry.
It’s a Lidl choice not a Waitrose.

I arrived at the Lloyds of Chester but had muddled up my dates for arrival. I very briefly explained this to Housain on the front desk and he was able to change my dates and put me in a bedroom for the one night I was staying. I made the mistake through booking.com and thought that I was not going to be charged twice due to this but Housain booked me in and told me to cancel my reservation for the night that I had accidentally booked for. He made sure that I would not be charged, for that I commend him, thank you for being very helpful Housain, it’s not common enough nowadays but you certainly have good customer service skills that will make it so that any future visits too Chester will be spent at the Lloyds of Chester hotel, though making sure this time to book the right dates.

Very helpful staff

The hotel is only a 5 minute walk from the station and around 10 minutes to get into the city centre. The hotel is very cosy, staff were helpful and friendly. The rooms were nice but the toilet and shower room is quite small. It is like a small plastic pod that has been put in the room, But it works all OK. Overall it is a great place to stay for a weekend city break. We never had breakfast there as there is a family run cafe only 2 minutes walk down the street which does all types at a good price.

Great & Easy Location

A lovely stay away for two days over the half term weekend. The gentleman at reception was incredibly helpful and took our bags to our room as well as asking were we okay the next day and if we needed anything for the room. The room was spotless and yes the bathroom is small but it was very clean and more than fine for two people. The hotel is situated close to the train station and has a wonderful real ale bar opposite it that serves ales from many different breweries. The hotel is very reasonably priced and we would both not hesitate coming back to Chester and staying here again. Perfect in every way yet incredibly cheap. Ignore any reviews in the past from this place. It has clearly been done up and is a lovely little hotel.

Half term break

We booked for an overnight stay, the gentleman that greeted us was really friendly and couldn't help us enough, our room was spotlessly clean, the bathrooms are a bit quirky but ok for us and location was pretty good, about 15-20 min walk to centre. We enjoyed our stay and would revisit

Great value for money

For £40 there's not much wrong to be fair.

Room was clean and perfectly adequate.

The shower and toilet are a little strange but perfectly adequate. I've seen things like this in France and although I'd like a bigger bathroom the fact is it does the job.

We didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that.

There's no parking so we knew we'd have to pay to park close by.

It's a short walk into the city centre. 

Would we stay again?

Yes.

Cheap and cheerful

Lovely big room. The bathroom is a very small pod style but it was fine.

Clean room, bedding and towels. Warm, with an extra heater provided if required. Just 100 yards from reasonably priced parking and an easy stroll to the centre of the city.

Would stay again.
